Always great service and delicious home cooking. The only complaint that I have is that the prices seem a little high.

Actually I rate this place as a -5 Stars. Ordered the Dad's Rib Plate and it was atrocious. The ribs were so tough I could barely chew them. There was no taste to them except for what they considered BBQ sauce. They looked like they had been boiled. The baked beans were definitely not homemade and more than likely were the cheapest brand out there with no additional seasoning, ie. Brown sugar which would have helped. The mashed potatoes had the appearance of powdered potatoes. Seriously probably the most disgusting meal I've ever eaten at a restaurant that claimed to be a BBQ establishment. Additionally, I had to wait 20 minutes to be served and I was one of three customers at the time I ordered. read more

Worst breakfast I've ever ate, I don't know how you mess up scrambled eggs but they found a way, they were not fresh tasting, a very dark ugly yellow, reheated most likely, came wth 2 eggs but was more like one and it wasn't missed by the taste of what was served, gross translucent cheap bacon that had been sitting cooked for a good while, unfriendly and uncaring. read more

Well love Dad's. We hadn't been there in a while so we went for supper on Saturday evening. We love their fish nuggets so we decided to go with those. I love their hush puppies too. I went with green beans & mashed potatoes. The potatoes were very good. We both got a slice of pie to bring home. I failed to get a picture but will next time. Food was fresh and hot, place is clean has about 64 chairs good for a stop coming through town on bikes in a group. Worth the stop. Wife and I ate for $15. Breaded pork tenderloin, pork sandwich fries and drink and glass of water. Pictures from our last visit a year ago. read more

I was just traveling through town, actually, looking for something other than the usual chain restaurants, and I chanced across Dad's Bar-B-Q. If you're tired of burgers and are the sort of person who likes to support local businesses, it's a great alternative. The pork that they serve is nice and tender and the bit of BBQ ribs that I stole from the wife were quite tasty as well! Entrees are inexpensive and come with your choice of a few of maybe a dozen sides, served in cafeteria-style trays to keep your sides separate, in case you're the type of person who doesn't want your food to touch. For me, I was liberally scooping my sides over the tray's various lips to try everything together. I was pleasantly surprised by how good my fried okra was! I didn't expect much, but it went perfectly with a little of the house-special BBQ sauce drizzled on top. I also had their mashed potatoes w/ gravy and some baked beans for a nice BBQ/picnic experience. The iced tea wasn't that hot on its own, but they have lemon juice at the table and that perked it right up. For dessert, I had the best pick out of our group with an "autumn cheesecake", a cheesecake topped with apple slices, a bit of cinnamon and some caramel. Service was fast and attentive. We bought a bottle of their branded BBQ sauce on the way out and it helped bring the evening's burgers to the next level. I had the special of the day- Bean Soup with Ham- excellent taste with large amounts of ham chunks, friend potatoes and slaw just like Mom use to make. This is a GREAT place to eat if you want good old fashion Diner type food. read more
