How much does cleaning solar panels improve their output?…read more I had my solar panels cleaned recently by @sudandsqueegie. I had them cleaned only a few months earlier by another company, but I recleaned them because two panels were producing lower output and looked obviously dirty. The other panels did not look like they needed cleaning. I was surprised to see that the cleaning improved the output of all the panels from an average of about 340 Wh per panel to about 540 Wh, an increase of about 58%! The first picture is a drone shot of the panels, showing the two panels that were obviously dirty. The first panel picture shows the output of all panels before cleaning, and the second panel picture shows the output after cleaning. The panel output measurements were taken within 1 hour of each other at around 1 pm. It was a partially overcast day, so the output is usually much greater. However, it shows the amount of improvement possible with simple cleaning of the panels, despite them not appearing obviously dirty to the naked eye. It turns out the two panels that looked obviously dirty had cracks in the glass surface, and most of the discoloration was dirt that had seeped underneath the glass coating and could not be removed by cleaning. Surprisingly, not only did the surface cleaning of the two "dirty panels" improve, but it also improved the other panels that did not look like they needed cleaning! The original company that did the cleaning used a brush on a long pole to drip deionized water onto the panels. @sudandsqueegee used a long pole with two rotating brushes, which seemed to be more effective. They were very efficient and professional in their work. I recommend them highly.

Recently, I had them come out because I suspected termites in one of our rafter tails. To their credit, they correctly identified that specific spot as just fungus and didn't try to oversell me on treatments I didn't need. However, their inspection was incredibly brief. They spent only a few minutes scanning the house, didn't check the attic at all, and gave us the all-clear. A couple of days later, I had a second company come out for another look. They spent almost an hour doing a thorough inspection and found a severe termite infestation in a different rafter tail that was almost entirely hollowed out. They spotted the signs right through the paint. Green Flash completely missed this. On top of the missed inspection, the wood rot repairs Green Flash did for us 5 years ago (costing about $1,200) have both failed and need to be redone. They spliced a rafter tail that is now loose, and it turns out they miscut a replacement barge board on the back of the house. To cover up the bad cut, they glued a scrap piece of wood over it, which has since detached and is currently hanging off the board. Bottom line: They failed to do a thorough termite inspection, and their carpentry work doesn't hold up. I highly recommend getting a second opinion on their inspections and hiring a dedicated specialist for any actual wood repairs.

She automatically took the shirts and hung them up on her to-do rack making it somewhat uncomfortable for me to say thanks, but no thanks. It was then I wanted to know how much the bill would be, and she replied $24. I then grabbed the shirts off of her rack and bid her a good day. I have seen this same tactic used at different types of repair shops where the owner overly dramatizes what needs to be done and takes possession of the item prior to discussing the charge or getting approval. In sales that's called the assumptive close, where they act as though they assume you will approve the work and pay their price for the very minimal effort required. Don't fall for it. I have just now received a response from the lady's husband indicating that I must have visited a different shop and mistakenly thought I was in theirs. Absolutely not possible as I've been in several times in the past. Perhaps showing the shirts will refresh her memory and also defend my own. For full disclosure, the green shirt does have a small half-inch rip on the back side.

He gave us 3 different options based on our needs and he was able to work with us a bit on our needs / pricing so we booked him a week after our discussion. Even though I spoke to Jeremy about the process, I realized I was still naive about the work being done because when Kyle came on time on our scheduled day, I was surprised to see him pulling a huge tank full of water on a trailer flatbed with all these hoses and gadgets. I just assumed he'd hook up to our water house but it made sense once I started to see the tools he needed. Kyle immediately went to work and we watched from the inside as waves of sludge came pouring off the roof. It has been 22 years since this house was built and we've managed to maintain every other part of the house but I never thought about the crud that would accumulate up there. It gave me the creeps thinking that we would've never thought to do this unless our insurance threatened to drop us. I have to say, the process of scheduling and working with Jeremy was painless but the clean up was far from easy. We have a 4500 sq. ft house and an additional 2 car detached garage so a lot of surface space to cover. 22 years of crud, that sludge has to go somewhere. Kyle did an AMAZING job washing everything down around the house but the red coloring of the roof stained our concrete in areas so we to go over it several times with our own pressure washer after Jeremey left to get that coloring removed. We have a long drive way so that was the area of most concern. Had I known this would be the case, I would've paid to have the sidewalks done as well. So, if your roof is red, I'd suggest paying a bit extra for a thorough cleaning of walls of your home AND the concrete. We are so pleased with the service that Washed Out provided and would highly recommend. Several of our neighbors came by and were amazed at the work done so we were happy to share Jeremy's information. We will definitely add them to our list of regular home maintenance vendors and hope you consider Jeremy and his team for your pressure washing needs.

I said I believe he is casing the neighborhood. What is your company name? Where is your business card? Where is your car? Show me where this Ashley's house is? He pointed in the wrong direction. He would not give me any info so I told him to give the info to my neighbor he was IMHO scoping her house out too. He was cool as a cucumber. If I were a door to door sales person, I'd have been mortified and would want to prove right away I'm legit. He didn't have much of anything, no shirt with logo, no flyers, clipboard, etc. no information, no business in the community. He was asked repeatedly to leave the neighborhood, neighbors were complaining. The HOA President came out and told him "Mathew I told you to leave, (people were calling her too)." During this time he tells me that the woman he spoke to earlier hired him to do her windows which was a lie. I spoke to her after he finally left and collected the business card to check this company out. I kept watch till he finally made his way to his car. I called the Sheriff and gave them his info. This business only has reviews from people with very few reviews. All 5 star except for the other one that also states similar experience as mine.
