I wasn't going to get the new drain shipped in time from the brand I really wanted, so Nik drove to 3 Ferguson home stores to find the part we wanted. I would never have expected that, but he went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. He was also very detail oriented and when we brought up a couple minor things that needed to be fixed, he quickly responded and had his team adjust. Due to Yelp's maximum words rule, this review has been largely shorten…read more Can't say enough good things about the Builderwell team- They're a one-stop solution, and have done an excellent job for our just-under-800sq.ft DADU project in Irvine, and kept everything transparent over the Buildertrend App. In a golden triangle, where only 2 of 3 can be picked, Builderwell leans heavily towards "time efficiency" and "built quality". The ADU build is summarized into two general phase and one extra phase for us: Phase 1 = Arash the architect led the way on the planning, from 2D architecture drawings to 3D renderings; after the city approved to break ground, Alan the lead builder & team took care of the foundation & structure of the build, this phase was finished under 6mo., between Dec '24 till April '25. Phase 2 = Mahroo the interior designer led the way on the interior design, she provides further interior design & parts sourcing, that pieces everything else together inside the DADU once phase 1 was finished. Ariyan the project leader also helps greatly to sort out the communications between us & his team. This phase was finished under 3mo., even with much changes in the details such as appliances, between May '25 to August '25, including final inspections from the city. Phase 3 = Consider this icing on the cake, and optional phase that includes landscaping and utilities around the DADU in the backyard, as well as front yard touch ups. I've also hired 3rd party inspection which Builderwell 100% complied and made extra corrections thereafter. This last phase was finished under 3mo., between Sept '25 to Nov '25. My realtor recommended Memar so we added them to the list. Matt came by the house to walk through with me and better understand the scope of my project. Unlike others that I met, he was not pushy or insisting that we do xyz. He truly listened to what I wanted and offered insight and suggestions to improve or enhance what I was initially thinking. You can tell that he and his team are very experienced and good at what they do. Matt and his calm, friendly demeanor sold me. That and visiting the show room in Mission Viejo sealed the deal. They have everything in house if you so choose (cabinets, flooring, tiles) or if you want to pick other options, they will make it work. They can even customize whatever you desire. Max was able to give me a bid within a week and was mindful of the fixed budget I had. Although not the lowest or near the lowest, it was competitive and comparable to the others. I think Memar's was the most upfront because they didn't have hidden budget breakers like expecting the client to buy and transport all of the materials from cabinets to vanities or even baseboards to the job site. Memar takes care of this and they take care of the client. They truly make it comprehensive and eliminate unecessary potential stressors for a house renovation. We are halfway into our timeline and things have been moving along smoothly. Our questions are answered almost immediately and the communication is open and clear. We are able to check in with ease and if something changes or needs a change as we move through each step, it's quickly brought to our attention and addressed. Will offer another update once our remodel is completed but if you're shopping around for a general contractor, be it for a small remodel or a whole home remodel (like me) or even to build your dream home, look no further. We received quotes from four companies before we were with Memar and we were very happy with that…read moredecision. There is no doubt that they were the best for the job. They weren't the least expensive but their quality was perfect. There's no doubt they are professionals and don't cut corners. WHile we were redoing three bathrooms my mother in law redid one bathroom again after the contractor who did it before messed up the shower pan and caused a leak. It was past the warranty period and she went with a different company than Memar and ended up having issues. Made us even more confident we made a good decision to go with Memar. We finally got around to redoing the three bathrooms in our house that were still stuck in the 70's. Two of the bathrooms weren't too bad, although they were still completely gutted and everything was replaced. For the master, we completely changed the bathroom around and moved the shower to the other side of the room which was a major upgrade and undertaking. It entailed pulling new plumbing and really moving things around. We weren't able to find the vanities that we needed for various reasons so we had Memar get them custom made. It was not as expensive as we thought it would be and was in line with what you would find premade and great quality. It made it so much easier because we were going nuts trying to find a vanity the size we wanted and with the single hole for the faucet. Of course the project went long but it was really due to the city and permitting issues. Mission Viejo had just changed to an online system from paper and had problems. That part was frustrating since it took two and half months to get the permit. Part of the problem was also the major remodel in the master bath. One piece of advice for doing a remodel of any kind, don't buy anything until you really know when you will be needing it. I immediately ordered everything and then when the permit took so long it meant that when I needed to return some items later it was past the return window. Also, make sure you find out from the city what they require for fans, lights, fixtures, etc. There were several requirements that we hadn't planned for that were a pain and meant we had to adjust things.

In our bathroom had the carpet removed and planned to use vinyl tile and a toilet replaced. Unfortunately when the carpet was pulled up the entire floor under the toilet was rotted out.
