It could not possibly have been an easier and more satisfying experience hiring OCWE to update our 60 year old windows and slider on our house. We met with Mike (the owner) at his showroom who went through every option and provided clear details for the products we had to choose as well as the process from start to finish. We went with Mike's product recommdation, Anlin Windows, based on those details which was clearly the right choice. Mitch (the ops manager/job forman) came to our home at the appointed time, took the measurements and advised what we needed to do to assist in the installation process which was basically moving any large objects away from the windows, both inside and out. In fact, we were contacted every step of the way from the owners, office staff and field staff and advised of the progress of our order. We were notified of the windows arrival at thier warehouse 6 weeks later and set up an installation date. JC and Willy arrived on time and got started right away after thanking me for clearing thier work areas as thoroughly as I did after the intial walk through. They did an amazing job. They were courteous, clean, respectul, and completely professional in every way. They had every window plus a very large slider installed before the end of the day and once again complimented and thanked me making their work areas accessible and easy to work in. They also left every area they worked in cleaned up as if they were never there. A rarety these days! JC then provided me with some tips specfic to any potential screen door squeeks and advised me to apply something on the screen to prevent any accicdents in the form of me or anyone else walking through that screen. I used a couple of thin strips of duct tape. The windows/screens are obviously new and almost transparent. Especially after living with the previous extruded metal OG windows for as long as we did. He showed me the features of each window and door, explained how the locks worked on each and answered any questions I had. There was minor 1 hiccup. During the unpacking process of the windows, JC pointed out to me that 1 of windows would not be able to be installed as it arrived broken. Not the window itself but the top right corner of the exterior vinyl overlap. The damage was not seen at the warehouse as it was under the protective card board/plastic and must have happened during the shipping process from the factory. I know from experience these things happen and it is how they are reacted to that seperates the good companies from the bad. OCWE took care of it without hesitation and insisted I deduct $500 from the intial installation balance until the replacment was installed and the job completely finished. The replacement was rush ordered. I was told it would take 2 weeks to get it. I got a call extactly 2 weeks later and we set up the installation appointment. The final window was just installed in under 30 minutes by JC and Willy as I had requested they come back for the aformentioned reasons. My wife and I could not be more pleased and satisfied with the choices we made specific to the company, product, pricing and professionalism of every team, top down from sales, ops and installation. We would do it again in a heartbeat! I highly recommend OCWE for window/slider upgrades in every way and when you do, make sure you specifically request JC and Willy to install them. Scope of the project: retrofit 17 windows and 1 sliding door. Replace window frames that have signs of dry rot. Bid process: OC window expert made this process seamless. We send in our window measurements and receive a quote comparing two top branded windows (Simonton vs. Anlin) within one day turnaround. Their pricing was extremely fair compared to the 4 other quotes I received. Why OC Expert: Customer service across the entire process. Mike (owner) was extremely helpful in educating us about the different brands of window while we visited the showroom, ultimately, we went with Anlin as we believe this was the best value in terms of quality and warranty. Mike also addressed all the questions I had regarding installation, caulking warranty and even educated us on how to check contractor licensing/insurance. We trust Mike to install our windows because 1) his company does only window install; 2) he has a consistent crew that only does window install (no sub-contracting work out); 3) He is reasonable and knowledgeable to address any questions I had and I had many; 4) pricing is extremely fair for the quality work you receive. Prep work: Mitch came onsite twice, once to carefully measure the window size (this is important since if the windows are measured wrong, no installer can retro-fit it correctly into the existing window frame). Oh my, what a wonderful company! While we received quotes from other companies, those visits made us feel like prisoners in our own home. Serious dog and pony shows. But we got such a great education from Mike (the owner) during our estimate visit to the showroom in HB. With his guidance we selected windows, sliding doors, and a windowed back door that balanced our priorities of energy efficiency and cost. This company's estimate came in significantly below other companies. This worried me at first (were corners being cut, workers receiving crappy pay, and/or the product low quality?) and we asked Mike about it. He assured us that costs are controlled by working directly with manufacturers and having permanent crews for installation which guaranteed that the job was done properly. And boy was he right about the crew. JC and Willy were great! They worked quickly, but with such experience and expertise that the job was mostly done in a day (more on that below). And if you want a true gauge of character, JC found and pointed out a manufacturing deficiency with one of the sliding glass doors and the seal on the kitchen window. On our own we would probably have discovered this a few years down the road, but because of JC's honesty they reordered these items for us at no cost to us. And the ULTIMATE judge of character - our husky LOVED these guys! I think she was debating leaving us for JC. Request this crew if you want a great experience- (both for humans and animals). In terms of the product, no issues to report a few months after install, including being through a few heavy rains. We did experience delays based on manufacturer availability and shipping. Mike was an absolute hero and called the manufacturer daily for updates. The replacement sliding door, in particular, took about 6 weeks to receive after reorder. But once received installation was fast, and Mitch ensured smooth scheduling. We were so happy that Willy and JC did the reinstall, and then demonstrated how the replacements worked properly. What a great team, and just lovely humans in general. And I can't miss mentioning that the windows are excellent quality! We went from old windows with broken seals and fogging to clear views of sunrises and sunsets. I can't recommend OC Window Experts more highly!
