Can't say enough good things about the Builderwell team- They're a one-stop solution, and have done an excellent job for our just-under-800sq.ft DADU project in Irvine, and kept everything transparent over the Buildertrend App. In a golden triangle, where only 2 of 3 can be picked, Builderwell leans heavily towards "time efficiency" and "built quality". The ADU build is summarized into two general phase and one extra phase for us: Phase 1 = Arash the architect led the way on the planning, from 2D architecture drawings to 3D renderings; after the city approved to break ground, Alan the lead builder & team took care of the foundation & structure of the build, this phase was finished under 6mo., between Dec '24 till April '25. Phase 2 = Mahroo the interior designer led the way on the interior design, she provides further interior design & parts sourcing, that pieces everything else together inside the DADU once phase 1 was finished. Ariyan the project leader also helps greatly to sort out the communications between us & his team. This phase was finished under 3mo., even with much changes in the details such as appliances, between May '25 to August '25, including final inspections from the city. Phase 3 = Consider this icing on the cake, and optional phase that includes landscaping and utilities around the DADU in the backyard, as well as front yard touch ups. I've also hired 3rd party inspection which Builderwell 100% complied and made extra corrections thereafter. This last phase was finished under 3mo., between Sept '25 to Nov '25. The most challenging part of home remodeling is to find a contractor you can trust. After experiencing so many contractors who promise everything but can't deliver as what they say, or be very responsive to win my job but fading away during the work and eventually no response after the job is done, without customer service or warranty as promised , I would do my best to find someone I can really trust. We are submitting this formal complaint regarding the management and execution of our kitchen expansion project in Ladera Ranch. We selected Builderwell, to expand out kitchen by 6 feet, after meeting with Arash on October 4, 2025, who assured us that he would personally oversee the project and that construction would be completed within approximately 90 days of breaking ground. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by repeated delays, poor coordination, and a lack of accountability. From the outset, critical project milestones were mishandled. Permitting with OC Public Works and HOA approval were both delayed due to Builderwell's failure to act proactively--adding roughly two months before construction could properly begin. Demolition began before HOA approval, leaving us without a kitchen for weeks while waiting for resubmission and final approval. Once construction started, the assigned project manager--who was clearly inexperienced--struggled to coordinate subcontractors and inspections. This led to numerous delays, including: missed inspections, the rework of two kitchen arches that were built not according to the approved plans, multiple problems with the glass door installation and failure to repair an upstairs door that became difficult to open, after the removal of the major support beam in the kitchen directly below. (they tried 3 times/I wound up paying a door framer to correct the problem and now the door is back to opening/closing normally) This beam was supposed to be replaced with two beams immediately, yet it took four days to get enough help to install the beams. Upon inspection of the beams, they were found to be missing four bolts that were required to maintain the structural integrity of our home. Despite Builderwell's assurances, their team failed to take responsibility for costly rework, and even attempted to reverse prior agreements regarding replacement of the glass doors. Additional issues included damage to our Venetian plaster (which we had to repair independently), electrical work done incorrectly and requiring rework, and a failure to clean a spill of some sort on the newly installed floors, as well as the dozens of paint splatters. So we called in a service to clean it at our expense. Most concerning, Builderwell installed a smaller, less expensive stovetop than specified in our approved plans and renderings--an issue we caught only by our own diligence. The installation of can lighting was uneven until we pointed it out to the subcontractor who corrected the problem. Our kitchen island was initialled installed 3 inches off of center, until we pointed out the mistake. Lastly the gas line to our backyard fire pit that was moved during construction, had water in the line ( so no gas could come through) which we had to have removed. Summary-Thank god for the county inspector, who help hold Builderwell accountable. Our project never passed inspection the first time. The project manager Ariyan, has about 1 year experience, which is virtually none. We felt that our job was not that important, so we worked from home so we could act as the general contractor. The project was left unkept most days with no clean up being done, unless we asked for it. It is clear that the project's many problems stemmed from inadequate supervision, poor communication, and lack of experience by Builderwell's project management team. What was promised as a smooth, 90-day process became a drawn-out, stressful, and costly experience lasting one year. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Builderwell. read more

I hired Builderwell for a remodel of both bathrooms in my home in late 2021 (completed earlier this year). The hall bathroom was a more simple job - simply replacing everything inside and updating it to be more modern. The master bathroom involved expanding the shower, raising the floor of the shower (previously you needed to step down into it which was weird and felt unsafe), moving the toilet to the opposite side of the room, moving the bathroom door, and creating a closet where the old hallway to the bathroom was. We knew it was going to be a bit hectic since we planned to stay in the house for the duration of the job. First, working with Negin, our designer, was great. I really enjoyed talking to her and the process of discussing together what tile, vanity, lights, etc we were going to use and we were delighted by the final designs. The project was also able to start much sooner than I'd anticipated! I am over the moon about the final product. The master bathroom especially brings me so much joy every day. If only child / teenager me could see me now, saying how happy a bathroom is making me! It's true though - the shower is an absolute delight and the design is a HUGE improvement over the original, from adding a second sink, to increasing the size of the shower, to adding a whole new closet for the bedroom. Staying in the house during the remodel was challenging, but necessary since we didn't have another place we could stay for such a long duration. The different teams that came in to do work for us were all really respectful of our space. One anecdote which started as a negative experience (but was not Builderwell's fault) is that we had a lot of materials delivered to the house for the project, and even though we were home, items were just dropped off in our driveway without anyone speaking to us. At one point, a pallet of tiles was placed on the side of the road / next to our driveway, behind our car and nearly blocking us in. The tiles were way too heavy to move by ourselves and we were really concerned about someone hitting them, and I wasn't sure how I could contact Floor & Decor (who delivered it) because I hadn't placed the actual order. However, Builderwell helped us out and ended up having some guys come to move everything to our garage after a few days. If I were to hire them again (we have no big remodeling plans right now) I would make sure to get my spouse added to the text chain from the beginning so all decision-making adults in the household were on it - it was sometimes challenging to be the main point of contact with the Builderwell team when my husband had questions because I had to be the one to facilitate it all. Overall, Builderwell was great. We are very pleased with the final outcome, and while we don't have any remodeling plans right now, we would definitely consider hiring Builderwell again in the future. read more

Pros: Quick turnaround time Cons: None that I can think of Builderwell already worked on the upstairs and downstairs of my house remodel. Figured I'd give it two more goes with a backyard and garage remodel too. For the backyard, we actually were working with another company that specialized in backyard landscaping and design, but they were taking too long to start the project. I reached out to Alan and Builderwell and they were able to take an initial design and start within a week or two. The team worked relatively quickly and were done in about two months. The backyard consisted of a demolition of existing backyard, concrete, custom BBQ with gas line, artificial turf, and some basic irrigation. For our garage, we just needed some fresh paint, epoxy floors, and cleaning up some electricity. That only took two weeks. Like any other contractor, sometimes things come up, but Alan, Marcos, and Builderwell always make sure to accommodate and the end product is great. read more

I found a contractor by referral, who was cheap, but ended up costing me so much time and energy I decided to interview other options. BuilderWell was one of them. Very similar experience as to what another Yelper posted a few days ago. Eshan was great. Listens to what you want and works with you on helping you formalize your project. Unfortunately after that, it's all down hill. It's like buying a nice car, but when you get it it's missing the engine. Serious lack of communication between the crew and I'm assuming the office. Again similar to the other post, a few employees also expressed unhappiness. The great communication and daily updates that we were told we'd be receiving hardly ever happened. We were always in constant chase mode trying to get updates. Project was finished much later than it should have. Days would go by when no work would be done. The quality of their work was good, and the finished project came out nice which is important to note. Normally that results in more stars, but having to deal with the lack of communication, confusion, consistent days of no shows and the unprofessional attitude of Alan makes it tough and not worth it. read more

Builderwell turned my worn out, tired home into a beautiful, charming living space. I had 3 full bathrooms and fireplace remodeled, recessed lighting installed and all walls retextured and painted. They pride themselves on communication and it is well deserved. All my inquiries were addressed promptly and the project manager, Marcos and I were in almost daily contact. There are always unexpected or unintended events in such as large job, but Marcos worked with me to resolve all issues in a timely and direct manner. I worked with their designer Asia and her services were fully worth the reasonable price. Asia listened to my needs and vision for my home and when we went shopping to pick out tile and flooring , she kept me focused on that vision. I could not have done it without her. The tilework is beautiful and the drywall and paint were perfect. One caution is to ask for the estimate of "contractor supplied" items (e.g. glass shower doors) up front as this was an unexpected expense to me. I would love to have Builderwell and their suppliers back to do my kitchen in the future. read more
