At this point, we are "frequent fliers" with DYM, and it's because they've consistently delivered. We live in a condo in Costa Mesa, and it was originally built in 1980, and when we first moved in, it certainly looked like a place from the 80s. However, DYM has now done our master bathroom, guest bathroom, kitchen, and windows. The place looks phenomenal! DYM did our bathrooms/windows in 2020, and they did our kitchen in 2022. It's been really great to see their company grow, and while I was worried as they grew we'd see things slip or something (I'm pretty sure we were one of their first ~10 clients in 2020), but that is definitively not the case. They were actually even better in 2022 as they had grown into more of a rhythm/process. There are so many crummy contractors, and we had heard every horror story you can think of. I'm happy to report we have no exciting or scandalous home renovation stories, and I mean that in the best possible way. With DYM, things get done on a schedule and with good quality. There's no "and then they disappeared for a week" or "and then they said another project came up" or "their plumber flooded our home and they said they weren't responsible." They just planned, demoed, adapted the plan (hooray for the inevitable demo day surprises), built, and finished. Wonderfully uneventful every time! While Jade and David are awesome, I also have to give a shout out to their crew. Carlos is a true master at his craft. He picks up on all the details, makes brilliant suggestions, and works crazy efficiently. They crew also does a great job at sectioning off the construction site and cleaning up. Renovations inevitably impact your lifestyle, but they really do everything in their power to limit it. I would trust their crews to do literally anything in our home. The most mind-blowing part is how strongly DYM stands by their work. We had some bathroom tiles get loose almost two years later, and I texted Jade asking for advice (How can I fix this? How much do you think it would cost if I hired someone? Have someone you would recommend?). I wasn't asking for her to fix it - it had been over two years. However, she just went ahead and fixed it with no cost and no questions. Hell, she even got me a birthday cake. Seriously...what contractor does this stuff? It's awesome! The group at DYM is also fantastic at making other contractor recommendations. We had a neighbor spring a leak and damage some of our drywall. We asked Jade for recommendations on someone who could fix it, and they person did a great job at a great price. It's so nice to have a source of information like that. We literally always recommend DYM to our friends whenever they mention they're doing a renovation. The only reason some of our friends have gone with someone else is because the other contractor was cheaper by a few thousand, and I don't think it ever ended up being worth it. The other contractors almost always added way more costs along the way, did a crummy job, or took forever. So you might be reading this review holding two quotes and wondering "Is DYM really worth the extra money?" Trust me - it is worth it and you won't regret it. read more

We hired DYM and had good and bad experiences depending upon the contractors they were using for parts of the remodel. Their plumbers were pretty good and I had no problems with any of their work. Electricians were shaky, tried to rush things, and led to issues that I had to fix outside the warranty period. The electrician I had fix the outlets they improperly installed said the wiring looked lazy and rushed. They also failed to install a bathroom mirror properly - used the wrong type of glue, bad gluing method which resulted in spots appearing. This seems like basic stuff they should know how to do. Kitchen installers were probably the worst of all. They definitely rushed the project overall and didn't even cut the countertop to a proper rectangle - one side is measurably longer than the other, though only really noticeable to me at this point. DYM doesn't do flooring and they don't seem to be familiar with how their work impacts it. I wanted to do a waterfall on my counter with LVP for my flooring. They had installed the waterfall before the old tile flooring was removed which made it impossible to use LVP per the contractor I hired for flooring. I was forced to change my plans to use tile instead. Overall I expect more from a general contractor. If you use DYM you should be more of an expert in how things get installed so you can properly catch them when they're doing things wrong. I am not an expert and was hoping their planning experience would be a little more helpful in selecting appropriate material and knowledgable in proper installations. read more

My husband and i honestly really enjoyed the overall process of remodeling our entire home with DYM builders Group. Everything felt overwhelming in the beginning but as soon we had an introductory call with project manager to understand all the steps, we enjoyed how organized and how simpler the process would go. Right off the bat, David gave us advice instead of us going on about what we thought we wanted. I really appreciated the honesty and someone taking charge of it all, something I think that was necessary for us. We had a couple of walls that needed to be taken down in the kitchen so we did work with DYM on plans and construction. They permit process was done smoothly and the time period between that and the construction was overall quicker than most that I've heard of. The crew was very professional, and worked hard from day one. The home was completed outdated, as we bought it planning to modernize. I really wanted the home to have a touch of our Spanish roots so I really enjoyed how David took that into conservation making the home not only feel updated by homely. The entrance, the office, the kitchen and the other spaces are beautiful to the detail. We are so much happier than we thought was possible! Jade, Sarah, and the entire DYM team and crew were absolutely amazing from beginning to end! I sincerely cannot say enough about how incredible the entire team is at what they do. I started my project looking for someone to help me complete a full interior remodel of a recently acquired home which was still in it's original 1960s condition. This alone is an extremely challenging task. On top of that, my wife and I had our second child during the process and I live out of state which meant that I wouldn't be physically available for many of the decisions that needed to be made throughout the renovation. I began the process by meeting with six different general contractors, all very well known, some even recommended to me by friends, family, and business colleagues in the Orange County area. I met with Jade and she immediately understood me and what I was trying to do. She didn't attempt to "upsell" or talk me into things that were unnecessary or beyond the scope of what needed to be done. She listened intently to what I was saying and understood what I was trying to do with the home. I immediately saw that she had a deeply refined concept of what could be done with my design concept of the home and more importantly, the ideas I had that didn't need to be done or could possibly be done differently at which point she would generously share her invaluable experience and ideas. After our initial meeting I knew I had found the my contractor and I trusted her and her ideas universally. The communication from Jade and Sarah was incredible and concise including many phone calls and text messages with videos and photos included to assist me with decision that needed to be made. If there were things that I wasn't completely content with, changes were made without question, challenges, or difficulty. They are a "yes, let's get it done" team and there was no negativity or "it can't be done" which is what I require from anyone I work with. My budget for the project was known and DYM was meticulous about staying within the confines of what I wanted to spend and they adapted accordingly to any unforeseen challenges. I could easily continue with my praises but will conclude by simply saying that DYM has my highest recommendation to anyone in need of an excellent contractor and friend throughout their home renovation process. Dym builders group recently renovated my entire home, including all 3 bedrooms, 3 baths and my kitchen/dining space. This was my first time working with a contractor so i was experiencing those pre-reno jitters.. I was suggested DYM by many locals in the area on nextdoor. I viewed their profile, and was directed to their website to which i scrolled through their gallery. I called to get some more information, speak about their jobs and obtaining a building permit. Their whole process from consultation to complete project is coordinated and smooth for a first time client, which makes the whole (stressful) project more enjoyable! Jade, who also owns the company, is the head contractor. Following the phone call, jade and a couple people from the team came to my home for a walkthrough/in person consultation in which she explained to me the steps needed to be taken and the overall scope of the project. What's great about DYM is not only do the renovate but they plan & design aswell, they have a team full of qualified designers, architects etc.. i think this is great after reading nightmares about architects and contractors not getting along Jade let me feel in control during the design process which made me appreciate the attentiveness. She kept me updated during the building process when there was something needed to be fixed. After almost 6 months of searching for a contractor we found DYM. From our first meeting with Jade to the final walk through, we have been very please with their team of trade professionals. 2-27-23 I met with DYM Builders Group, Jade. She came @ the appointed time. She was given a scope of work for a Bathroom remodeling. I reviewed the materials I had purchased for the project. I thought things were going as usual until the subject of age discrimination came up. I mentioned that other contractors refused to work with me because I am over 65 yrs. She, surprisingly agreed with the discrimination against people over 65 yrs. Claiming that there is a law that contractors are obliged to follow. I told her to present a copy of such a law. She had no proof. Further, I researched this claim with the CSLB Special Agent for over 20 yrs. He said he had no knowledge of such a law although, there could be such a law. Jade's comment was "You don't know if they have Dementia or Alzheimers. Further in her experience, several elderly women signed documents that children of the client said the contractor was taking advantage of elderly. The solution to the problem is to have an attorney or neighbor or relative present @ the time of signing the contract. As a proof that the client knew what she was signing. The conversation ended with Jade would present to me evidence of such a discriminatory law. (1) There is no law. (2) Contractors having such low opinion of their prospective clients should not do business with them. (3) For every contractor I have interviewed said their profession lacks integrity for telling clients the truth at any age. Star Rating: Zero! read more
