This is essentially the hotel lobby bar, They have a great happy hour, because it's late, service is kind of slow. If you are staying at the hotel, you will probably be given a complimentary drink card - this card is good for their select cocktails :) The snacks were good. The soup was really thick. The vibe and ambiance is relaxed

I had the turkey club which was fine, the fries were nice and crispy. I also tried the Cholula cauliflower which was a touch to spicy for me but I'm a wimp. I have to give a giant shout out to the waitstaff. It looked like there were only 3 people working and one of them was a manager. They did an excellent job!

    Grilled chicken caesar salad

First night in Houston, staying at the JW Marriott and decided instead of battling the heat, I would grab something light from downstairs at Stray Horse. Upon entering the place was empty (PERFECT for me) was greeted very warmly at the front. Placed my order for a Coors light (came out ice cold!!! ) and the grilled chicken caesar salad. A man named Haren (sp?) came up introduced himself and brought me a little stand for my phone. (I have eaten MANY places and never had this!) The salad came out and was probably the best caesar salad I have ever had. This place is a gem! The ambience, service and food are top notch, and for reasonable prices! EXCELLENT dining experience They earned this 5 star review!

Stopped in a drink at Stray Horse. This is a bar (and restaurant) inside the JW Marriott. Ordered the Manhattan called Annexation 1845. Was a solid drink. Bartender was a bit space cadet but pleasant.

As busy parents, it's hard to find time for ourselves, so when we do get a chance to go out, we really hope it feels worth it and Credence absolutely delivered. This was our first time visiting and everything was incredible from start to finish. We ordered the steak and eggs, French toast, and were surprised with a complimentary dessert, gelato covered in toasted meringue that was honestly unforgettable. Every dish was beautifully presented and delicious. What really made the experience special though was the service. Our waitress was attentive, kind, warm, and genuinely made us feel taken care of the entire meal. The atmosphere felt elevated without being stuffy, and we were actually able to relax and enjoy ourselves. We left already talking about when we want to come back. Highly recommend for a date brunch, celebration, or just a really good meal.

The dining room is chic and feels very upscale but comfortable with a large open fire kitchen that was really fun to watch while dining. They were very on top of service with both our dining captain and waiter checking on us throughout the evening. For appetizers we ordered the deviled crabs, tuna tostada and wood roasted carrots. All were great but I especially loved the carrots which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. For my main course I had the chicken and dumplings, husband got the NY strip, our friends shared the whole fish and we had the cabbage and crab rice as sides. Everyone was very happy with both their main courses and the side dishes. We were too stuffed to order dessert but they sent out a s'mores inspired sunday for my birthday which was both thoughtful and sublime. Overall we were very impressed with our meal. Food was delicious but veeeery indulgent. We will be back.

They offer affordably priced…read morefood (#1), simple and tasty casual fare, and keep it relatively flexible for all folks (dates, families, group dining, etc.) by providing excellent service, and a consistent experience every time. Similarly to their more popular location in Memorial (#2), this outside of this Bellaire spot doesn't immediately tell the full story. The interior has an industrial vibe, with the high ceilings and overhead fixtures, but as converted into a solid dining space. The large tilted mirrors in the main area are reminiscent of the now defunct Helen's (#3) and makes for a fun (or perhaps distracting) visual. The spacious layout allows breathing room for all kinds of groups. Service has been good overall, and prompt throughout every visit. The American bistro inspired menu has a decent amount of variety that spans from brunch to a tasty weeknight dinner and a drink. Their starters have a variety of tasty bites that include the white truffle eggs, wicked wings, prosciutto-melon burrata, Mama Pauley's meatballs, and a very addicting chipotle pimento cheese dip. While I appreciate the vegan-friendly hippie chickpea croquettes, it needed just a bit more seasoning. Their bacon double cheeseburger has been deemed "insta-famous" and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's juicy, a little messy, but a lot delicious. It paired well with their large cut fries (consider upgrading to the truffle fries), but the house made chips are also a good light bite. Their salads are equally fabulous from their classic caesar to a hearty cobb salad. I wasn't as impressed with the crunchy Asian salad, but thought their faro salad was a thumbs up. Understandably, the priciest meals are some of their grilled and house specialty meals, such as a prime tenderloin filet ($42), Mediterranean roasted redfish ($36), twelve hour ribs ($29), and rosemary-lemon chicken ($29), all of which are solid. I feel the buttermilk chicken tender platter ($19) is really meant for children, but is great for any tender lover in the bunch. Their weekly "features" are a series of daily specials that range from prime rib nights on Wednesdays and ribeyes on Thursdays, and "kids eat free" specials + their happy hour give folks plenty of reason to check it out. ___________ ( #1) Especially during their seasonal deals which can sometimes include steep discounts. This Galleria location on San Felipe in particular is convenient for me because I have a friend that lives in the apartments that this location is connected to. You can't go wrong with any of their pastries here. My favorites are their almond croissant, kouign-amann, sticky bun, and so much more. Pair your pastry with one of their made to order lattes and you're in for a great breakfast treat. Thanks common bond for being consistently tasty, no matter which location you go to. Yes, their prices are on the higher side, but you do get quality when you come here. Enjoy!

It's very spread out and a bit busier around lunch time but still plentiful. There's also an upstairs seating area with maybe ~9 tables. Great for a little quieter. There was a group of ladies playing mahjong, love. There is free retail parking available in the adjoining garage, just a quick walk through the courtyard shared with the apartments, spa and other restaurant. Common bond isn't my first choice for coffee but for overall rating this is superb. Will be coming back when I'm in the area 100%

This is the second time I've purchase the steak frites to-go at this establishment within a week, and they aren't serving what the menu states! Menu clearly says the cut of steak for the steak fries is ribeye, and this is absolutely NOT RIBEYE. The first time I ordered it last week, I let it slide because it was still tasty and this restaurant is in walking distance from my house so it's convenient...I just figured they ran out of the advertised cut of beef and made a one off substitution. Went in today and ordered the same dish and was served the same cut of beef, which is obviously a flank or skirt steak... definitely not what is being advertised! Called and spoke with the manager and she was apologetic and promptly gave me a refund. I'm only writing this review because it is a poor business practice to advertise one thing and serve something else. Either increase the pricing for what is advertised or change the menu to reflect what you're actually serving....It's just as simple as that! Transparency matters and this is very deceptive. Not sure if I will dine here again.
