I've been coming here for a while now. I actually really enjoy their food. But after making phone orders and coming in, I've realize some of their employees are extremely rude and you can completely tell they hate their job. I'm nothing but nice to them whether it be over the phone or in person, and I get attitude and a sour face back. They don't ask how you are, or serve you with a smile, they actually tend to get nasty if you mess up or confuse them with requests. What happened to the customer is always right? Or politely correcting the customer and helping them decide to what order, that they can actually fulfill. I'm not going to be coming back as often that's for sure. So... I hate to be this person, but I am going to be this person because people can always improve their job performance and I hope my input is a good thing... not bad. One must understand that bagel places are not exactly customer serviceville, they have a lot to take on and long lines and usually the staff is young (underpaid off the books) and in some cases their first job. So to expect an underpaid teen to give you the same service as a restaurant is kinda reaching. Anyways... I worked at a bagel place many moons ago (like a month as a favor, a temp job). I went to Strath today for a mini bagel and cream cheese is was 4:55 and I was praying they were still open two teens walked in and I was relieved, they're open!!! I walk in and while these teens are talking to the others behind the counter (clearly they were all friend) I'm told they were closed. First off, lock your doors if you're closed, even if it's 5 mins beforehand bc the reality is it says you're closed at 5.... if someone walks into your establishment before your doors are locked, you're open . Now I think a person who walks in right before a deli is closed asking for a roast beef mozzarella gravy sub can go eff off. I think their bagels aren't good unless it's early in the day, and anytime after needs to be toasted, if you want your bagel golden ask for twice toasted, their toaster is always on a low setting (good thing honestly), otherwise you'll be getting a slightly warmed bagel with hard parts that's not appetizing at all. I find the rest of their food fine. I like the Strathmore by Kohl's (port Jeff... I think) much better, the bagels have bubbles on them (meaning they're boiled and baked) and stay soft through the day. Not sure why there's so a big difference between all the Strathmore locations but for some reason there is. read more

Deli was clean, service was friendly. Ordered BLT with cheese and a grilled cheese with ham. Got a lettuce sandwich and a grilled cheese with a paper thin piece of ham. Wouldn't recommend, i won't be returning. read more

I'm pretty picky about where I get my bagels from, I've been living in this area for a while and couldn't find my go-to bagel joint. Both strathmore locations provide good deals, quick service, but above all, great bagels. Will definitely be coming back many more mornings for my sausage egg and cheese fix, especially on an egg everything bagel! read more

Too bad I can't give it zero stars. The bagels here are good, some of the best in the area but the owner is a piece of crap. The line in the store was longer than usual and hes taking orders, he runs into a customer who he hasn't seen in "ages" and spends a good 10 minutes chatting with him while making a woman's order then I'm next in line and instead of taking my order he proceeds to continue chatting. Finally he takes my order and he hears me complaining that he was bullsh*tting more than working he says "I know you're not coming back, I know him since he's a kid and his mom died of cancer 5 years ago so I wanted to catch up with him. I'm the owner so it's ok I don't care" in this economic state for him to not care that someone who is a weekly customer won't come back speaks volumes to me about this mans character. All I ever get at Strathmore is bagels, so I can't speak for their other offerings, but I am a huge fan of their bagels. Living in upstate NY, I look forward to my trips down to Long Island when I can get good quality bagels and I always make sure a bring half a dozen home with me for the freezer. I like that so many cream cheese flavors are offered and love that their are three different kinds of Everything bagels. The sunflower seed bagels are a fun concept and something I wish you saw more often at bagel shops. I like the chewy texture and have never had a bad experience here. read more

It just took me 20 minutes to get a warm, mediocre egg sandwich here at 11:30am. Absolute waste of time and money. Don't bother going here.

I have been eating bagels here since the early 80's. Bagel selection is excellent very tasty. They are very generous with amount of cream cheese they apply. I have had some of the sandwiches and they are average, the breakfast items are good but I have had better elsewhere. They are overpriced here on everything across the board and service can vary from OK to lousy. Staff is generally not friendly and service can be very slow and frustrating especially on weekends where long lines that stretch out the door. I have waited 20+ minutes at times , only to be rushed when served. They have an attitude as they are the best on LI and they are not. Unfortunately , western Brookhaven township does not have a lot of good options for bagels. There are better options just a few miles west into Smithtown area. read more

BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK. As a Stony Brook student I've tried almost every bagel spot in the area in search of my favorite. Strathmore Bagels is my number one. Breakfast sandwiches come with home fries and your choice of drink. This combo makes for an ULTIMATE and filling breakfast. Grab it to go if your running late for a class. Love this place! The everything pumpernickel is such a fantastic idea and is seriously so yummy! They also have pretty much every flavor creamer you could hope for (my favorite is sweet cream) which is a huge plus, I don't know many places that have such a wide variety. read more

I used to like this place but my last visit was awful. My bagel with eggs wasn't hot and the coffee was terrible. Disappointed.

All the counter help think they are playing the "Michael Jackson" part. They ALL wear ONE glove, not two, but ONE while serving you. Then they use BOTH hands to take your money and make change. Then on to the next customer, with that SAME one glove act with the SAME GLOVE. So the glove means nothing, except it gets darker from the filth from the money, and easier to see! This is my favorite bagel place in the area (I've been to lots of them). Strathmore's bagels are the fullest, largest, and softest bagels. Their service is very quick. Price is cheaper or comparable to all other bagel places. They have a large selection. I now refuse to get bagels anywhere else. read more

Me and the guys I work with have ordered from them many times and the result is very mixed. I have had great sandwiches and bagels, and I have had some of the worst ones ever. sandwiches with only condiments or just cheese and a pound of it at that. When done well its absolutely worth the wait and oh boy is there a wait bet on 10 -20 minute wait for any more than one sandwich, and the line is always crazy read more

I've been here several times over the last few months. I always hope that the poor service I got was just a one off and it's really fine. After today, I give up. My dark toasted bagel was barely warm and for some reason, the four people behind me that ordered eggs got out of there light years before me. I just got a plain bagel/w lox cream cheese. It was amazing. I'm in Florida now 15 years and haven't had anything close. I savored every last bite. Now some constructive criticism. The fact that you don't have a designated line to place your order and one to pay and pick up is absolutely absurd. 2 people behind me and myself were asking. Foods good but certainly not worth the wait. Not sure if it's a staff issue or what but plan of waiting a long time after you order. I've been here a few times and nothing has changed. The front of the line is congested with people standing aimlessly waiting for their food which should have been out a long time ago. I am familiar with the strahmore bagels chain as a place I can get a decent to good breakfast sandwich. I always get the same thing a garlic bagel with cheese and a double order of bacon. What I recieved this time however were the 4 smallest and thinest strips of bacon thrown in the microwave until they had been fried to charcoal and about a pound of cheese to make up the rest for side. read more

When I go out to eat, I can't help but look at the sanitary conditions when I'm there. It makes all the difference. The sanitary conditions are pristine. Hands down the cleanest restaurant around. On top of that, their variety is impeccable. They have ANYTHING I could crave throughout the day. Eggs are always cooked perfectly, all meat is boars head, home made fried and grilled chicken, muffins, salad bar, chicken salad, tuna, all salads!! ...you get the point. Of course the bagels can't be forgotten! The bagels are phenomenal. Just went there today - 2pm, 8/13/17. Have been a loyal local customer for YEARS! My wife daughter & I decided to get the "family pack" while we ate some sandwiches. Girl who took our order rolled her eyes and huffed when I inquired about it. I ignored it that time. When she came back and asked me "anything else?" I decided to get the family pack since we were heading to the back to feed a lot of people. She ROLLED HERE EYES AND HUFFED right at me, turned around and walked away. I immediately cancelled that order and asked if there was a problem. Customers on line we also appalled. Will not give money to a local place that treats customers like that. We were driving past so we figured we would stop for a quick bite to eat and get a bagel... As the server came to take our order the kid with glasses had a real serious attitude... He was nasty, rude and quite cocky.... When a food did come out he slammed it on the counter... Causing my home fries to go all over the place ... Without an apology he asked if we wanted anything else.... When I asked him some napkins he got annoyed pointed to the napkin holder!! We come here on Saturday mornings to hear live music so the length of the line or the slowness of the staff doesn't really matter when there is added entertainment. There bagels are as good as anyplace else. Their egg dishes are just fine, my husband has had scrambled eggs or an omelet and been quite satisfied. I have no complaints about the coffee- it is as good as any bagel place (that means not great, but fine with a bagel). I have had one of their egg-bacon-cheese on a bagel sandwiches and it was excellent. I am not looking for gourmet food here, just a good breakfast and a relaxing morning (did I mention that they have live music? Where else can you get that?) and this place fills the bill. read more

Good morning Three Village community. I just came from Strathmore Bagels on Nesconset Highway in Stony Brook by the Loews movie theater shopping center to buy bagels, cream cheeses and salads. First of all I was told that because of the JEWISH holiday they were only giving ONE extra bagel with the purchase of a dozen instead of their usual weekday special of SIX free. Kinda weird but OK. Then when I went to pay for everything they also told me they were not accepting coupons because of the JEWISH holiday. I asked the owner if he thought this was fair and he just shrugged his shoulders, and said it was because of the JEWISH holiday and walked off. I wonder if the same rule applies on St. Patrick's Day.
