This place has really gone down hill since the last time I was in here a few years ago. I got 3 egg sandwiches and an iced tea and it was $35.. Unfortunately this is not unusual for LI but these bagels were just not good. We got plain bagels.. they were stale and chewy at 11:30 in the morning on a holiday. I've had a few sandwiches here from time to time. Last week I called and asked if they had baked salmon. The person who answered didn't understand what I meant so he handed the phone to another person. I asked again and she said yes. Then I said not salmon salad and she verified that they indeed had baked salmon. I drove there and was waited on by a spanish woman. I stressed that I wanted baked salmon and not salad. She says ok then proceeds to make me a sandwich with lox on it. I saw her do it and asked her if she just gave me lox on the sandwich and she says yes. WHAT? Did I ask for lox? She says no, so why did you give me lox? DUMB STARE! Then assumes I don't want anything else?? I said I want ham & Swiss on a roll, light on the mustard. She replies "brown mustard?, yes but not a lot I say. She makes the sandwich then says I don't owe anything. The sandwich you just made costs $7.77 and I just paid $8.92 and I figured she has no clue what she is doing and just sat down to eat. Open the sandwich and BOTH sides are slathered with mustard to the point it was leaking out from all sides. The roll was saturated and I threw out half of the roll. NEVER again! My new holiday tradition is going to LI to visit my boyfriends family...we have started a Black Friday tradition of going to Bagel Gallery and indulging on the BEST GD BAGELS EVER. Last year I had the Creamed Cheese and Olive spread on an Everything Bagel. It was glorious. This year I went all out and got the Bacon Horseradish spread on an Egg Bagel. I saved half and brought it back to DC with me as my holiday souvenir... Crunch on the out, chew on the in...tons of spread and reasonably priced. We got 2 bagels and a soda for 9$ total. Service, can't ever get through to this place and when you do they keep you on hold for 10 minutes, if you call back they don't answer the phone to for either number. If you order in person it's at least 10-15 to get to the counter then another 10 waiting for food. I had 2 questions that I gave up waiting to ask, can I order online and if I order ahead can I go right to the counter to pick it up or do I have to wait ANOTHER 10 minutes online to tell them I'm picking up my order. Bagels here are SOOoO good!!! There is always a line out the door but it moves fast! We saw they had specialty hero's and sandwiches and when we read the heart attack hero we automatically thought Cristina's deli in Whitestone but sadly it was nowhere near. I don't have a complaint with breakfast here. Usually the staff is diligent, stacked and the food is good. Besides getting the occasional order wrong. But for me personally I come here to eat lunch. And it's unfortunate that a lot of times the gallery as a whole let me down. There is usually one person working the afternoon shift and they look at you angrily when you order. Or they have an issue with you waiting On line after you ordered, throwing arms the air going, can I help you? Very rarely you might get an amazing sandwich, but more times then not it's old chewy chicken, stale bread, and wrong orders. Today was the last straw.... I ordered a chicken cutlet with lettuce and onions no tomatoes. Somehow I got a chicken cutlet with tomatoes no lettuce or onions. And one guy working the front of the counter complaining how he hasn't started the sandwich when it was ordered in. This place had a lot of potential, cause when it's right it's right. But 9 times out of ten, it's a waste of money and time, all to be yelled at, angrily stared at, and disappointed with the sandwich. For breakfast.... not the worst idea.... for lunch.... buy a lottery ticket.... you got a better chance of winning then getting a good sandwich. read more

This would've been a 4 or 5 star review because they do have decent bagels and a wide variety of bottled sodas/drinks you don't normally find in your local bagel place, but my last 2 visits to this place I've been greeted by rude service, and on my most recent visit today I found hair laced throughout my bagel. I am always polite, say please and thank you and money is going in that tip jar, but after this experience I don't think I'll be going back. I never think hair in my food is intentional, I always say "accidents happen" and just remove the hair, I'm not gonna cause a stink about it... but when the service is rude and unwelcoming prior to finding not one hair, but 2 in my food- in between the egg and the bottom half of my bagel, how am I supposed to feel? Used to be our favorite go-to bagel place in smithtown. However, the staff has become terrible recently. We've had several bad experiences with the young girl with long blonde hair. She's rude and gets the orders wrong every single time. I ordered an egg and cheese SPK, didn't have any SPK on it. My partner ordered a bagel with butter, got a bagel with CC. Then she went to remake it and never returned until we asked where it was. Ended up skipping the bagel bc we didn't want to continue to wait. I was charged $6 for my WRONG egg sandwich which was definitely overcharged but I didn't feel like dealing with her any longer so we just paid and left. Honestly won't be back unless some staff changes are made. read more

Honestly this place is so gas it's almost unbelievable. Anything crafted in this small safe haven is made with love and absolute deliciousness. Everyone who works here deserves a 10,000 dollar raise because the clients can be the absolute worst people (and or horrifying aggravated minors{typically wasted}) Basically if you work in this establishment you're guaranteed a spot in heaven. Okay, usually I'm never one to complain or make a big deal out of anything. But This morning on august 22 I came across the most rude, unpleasant straight off just plain rude and nasty worker I've ever encountered in my life. Before I could even get a word out, she looked aggravated that we were even there. Whatever, it's 6 in the morning, I get it. But when she starts taking my order. It turned into her throwing aggressive direct comments and a whole lot of micro-aggressive remarks at us when we were the only ones in there. "I want a-" "SPEAK UP!" Eye rolls. I order But then made the mistake of hesitating on what bread I wanted and within that second "NO, WHAT BREAD? WHAT BREAD DO YOU WANT!?" Ask then turns to my friend "Well, What do you want?" As she making the food she straight talking shit about somebody in her life about how this person wants somebody to throw a party for her... and she's rolling her eyes about this person she talking about. Then she was annoyed that she probably input both mine and the person order together in the registers and when I told her it was separate she gave me an aggravated look and then said....o.....k..... looked at me and told me the total like it was mine, when I gave her my card. She then hesitated and I had to ask who she was ringing up, she gestured to my friend that it was his. So I took my card back. Overall weird, confusing and unnecessary experience. Never experienced a problem with this place before. Seems like it was just her and her bad morning. Worked in the service industry as a cashier and server myself. I get that a lot of BS comes from customers, but this whole situation from this brunette was totally something that was just unnecessary and the problem to her was my presence there was the problem for her. read more
