After sunset, the lighting around the building is very poor. The place looks like a shuttered building from the south sid,e where you can enter your code to gain access to your storage space. My rating for the outdoor lighting: 1 star. Currently, I'm having trouble because the automatic payment system charged me for 12/2024 when I vacated & gave notice before the end of 11/2024. My rating for the automatic payment system is 0 stars. Something extremely helpful in bad weather: You can drive your car or moving van/truck into the building on the south side, where CJ was a big help when I had to retrieve some winter gear in the rain. Sometimes other tenants have their cars in the 2 spaces where you can drive into the building, but when those spaces are open, they are wonderful because if you have a car or a small moving truck (not the big full-sized ones), you can drive in far enough that you can close the overhead door and work in relative comfort. My rating for these 2 drive in loading dock style bays is 5 stars.

The $1 "first month fee" only applies to some units and does NOT include two required add-on's: (A) a $25 admin fee and a (B) $20 lock for the unit. So while you get a month of rent almost for free, there is fine print that costs $45. Just a heads-up on that. The climate-controlled units are really nice; the hallways use motion sensors to light as you walk around and it's 55-degrees all day and night, so perfect regardless of outside conditions. There are no electrical outlets understandably, so if you need light, you can store/bring an electric light source just in case the hallway lighting isn't enough for you. This is a big place, so the front office is kind enough to borrow out [upon request] two flatbed carts so you can roll stuff away from your vehicle. Nice touch! I recommend reserving online to get the best price and availability. This location has an awkward entrance and exit onto Irving Park Road (it only works well if you're headed west and then continuing west, haha). Of course, that's what a U-Turn is for... :-)

I called to ask questions, and received somebody on a different border who played the card that they couldn't understand me or my questions. 100% bait and switch. I also had a problem with the representative on site. I specifically declined insurance when I signed up, and I was given insurance anyway. I work in insurance; I didn't select it. The manager knew what she was doing when she created my account. I do agree they are a bit shady.

I have been using this facility since it opened, so about 3 years now. I rent an indoor storage…read moreunit and also park my company truck in the outdoor storage area because of HOA regulations where I live. I have a couple of complaints the way CubeSmart operates their business. When you complain about it to the management at the facility, they simply tell you that their district manager makes the decisions and they have no control, so I will share with you why I am unhappy. 1) They lure you in with "special offers" which is enticing. But then they will start raising your rent fairly regularly. That seems to be the corporate business model these days. In the 3 years I've been at this facility my indoor storage has practically doubled. 2) The gates system used to secure the outdoor parking is always breaking. I am a union electrician and I park a company truck at the facility. So if the gate system isn't working, I can't go to work, which costs me nearly $800 a day when you include my hourly pay and benefits package. My biggest problem with this situation is when I talk to the management about it, they tell me CubeSmart isn't going to change their junky gate operating system for me. I had to laugh because when these gates break, it inconveniences everyone because of how the entry and exit system works at this facility. Instead of driving through a couple of roll-up doors like most facilities, you also get routed through the outdoor parking area which has those two (2) pesky sliding gate systems that always breaks. I don't appreciate management making it sound as though I am the only person being inconvenienced, the whole traffic pattern causes the excessive use of the junky gate system. If you want a good laugh, think about their reaction to my request of being compensated for my loss time at work. I never mentioned this previous times, but after having this happen several times, what do you expect. I wouldn't have even asked such a thing if I seen that CubeSmart was making an effort to really fixing the issue. Instead they keep fixing the same junk. Here is another funny one for you. I couldn't get my truck out of the parking area, and they told me they don't know when the gates will be fixed. So I may not be going to work tomorrow either! Lol....I am so done with CubeSmart.

They have a vast amount of storage sizes you can choose from, a much better variety than U-haul, and the prices are better too. All of the storage Units are inside and the units have climate control. Great place to store inventory for a business or whatever else you may need! The lady who helped my mother and I out today was so helpful and kind. She talked us through the whole process, what to expect, how long the incentive will last (4 months), etc. If you're in need for a storage place in the area I would definitely recommend Cubesmart! I got here at 10 am came back and left again at almost 1 pm. I wasted a lot of time. Steve kept saying I wasn't here for the last 3 days I didn't know or I wasn't told the ubox was in the warehouse.
