Though the storage is pricy, I felt safe keeping my belongings there until earlier today. Today, October 31, 2023, at around 10:35am, I came in the office to tell a male staff there that I smelled cigarette smoke last night, October 30, 2023, at around 6:48pm. He said that if they did not smoke inside, they can't really do anything about it. I said that I smelled it on my way out. And the door to go inside after the garage automatically opens, and the smell would go all over inside. He got agitated and told me that he cannot stop anybody from smoking. Then, asked me what I think about the corporate would do. I asked him back to find out for me because I normally get reactions if I smell or inhale a cigarette smoke. Luckily, I only had a headache after we left and a tight chest later that night. I had to ask my son to drive halfway because I was not feeling well after I smelled the cigarette smoke. Because he did not show concerns or find out if he or the corporate can do something about the cigarette smoke smell, I said that I am done arguing. I was not really arguing and I should not have said that to him because I was calm until I said that word to him. After that, I walked away from him to get out of the office. Then he said, "Sound good to me." I said that it is not because I am a paid customer. I went back inside the office to ask for his name, but he said that he can't talk to me because he's on the phone with the corporate, yet he responded to my question. I was waiting for a bit, but he would rather stay on his cellphone with the corporate. From the male staff's behavior today, I did not feel safe going back there even if I am paid until January on both of my units. He is the reason why I gave one-star rating today. I can't wait until Joan will come back. I hope that the corporate will hire people like Joan. I love her so much for giving me guarantees that I will be safe going in and out of the storage building, keeping my belongings there, and making me feel comfortable with her cleanliness.

Let me first start out saying I wish I would've rented from James at Superior Self Storage the…read morefirst time around, and here's why. My family and I recently relocated to NC, and we needed a total of 2 trucks over two separate trips, and without knowing I made my first mistake by choosing another trucking company for the first truck rental only because I didn't know about Superior Self Storage at this time. Long story short the truck I reserved from a competitor was not available at the location that was agreed upon, nor the time agreed upon. I lost 5 hours of my time that morning on calls with the vendor trying to locate another truck for me, and driving to a much further location for pickup. I then went and read reviews of this said company and it appears this happens more often than not. Do yourself a favor and go with Superior Self Storage to avoid this unpleasant surprise during very stressful time from happening to you. As mentioned above I needed a second truck to rent, and went with James at Superior Self Storage and rented a 15' truck with a car carrier. The truck was ready at the time and location agreed upon, and James helped load my car on the carrier, and made sure I was comfortable loading and unloading, and strapping down before I left. Next morning we started loading the 15' truck only to find out we needed a bigger truck. I'm sure this has happened to many others before me, and now feeling the pressure of time slipping away I made a call to James who was able quickly locate me a larger truck. All I had to do is swap out one truck for the other. After successfully loading the truck and car I was ready for the drive to NC the next morning. About 9 hours into my drive I had the right rear inside tire blow out on the truck. I pulled over and called James who at first wanted to make sure we were all ok, advised that I need not worry about any costs associated with the tire being fixed as this is a covered item, and then advised that I contact the 800 road side assistance number located on the contract, and that they would be able to help. I did and they were able to assist, and had me up and running again in little over an hour. All of this said I would be happy to use, and refer James and Superior Self Storage again should I ever need their services.

My 1st visit was really good as Maria showed me around and explained how the units worked. Upon hearing that I would need my storage unit for a couple more weeks Maria extended my reservation to keep my rate and that really helped. On move in day I was given a phone call the day before, to check to make sure what time I was going to arrive. I was able to reschedule my time when I realised that the time slot didn't work any longer. The office staff were very flexible with helping me out. I was able to complete the whole moving process in less than 30 minutes. Overall I am happy with my unit I end up getting a 10 by 7 and a 1/2. I do like the ease of unloading my S UV into their docking station. I appreciate the climate control as it can get really hot during the summer and I was worried about my electronics. This was the true reason I picked this location even though about $50 more per month than the location about 2 miles away. All in all super excited about the fringe benefits of this location, To include utilization of a moving truck. The nice thing is that they allow you to use the moving truck up to 2 weeks from your moving date. This alone is going to save me a $150.
