I love this storage facility. It's less expensive than the other namebrand storage facilities, and the surroundings are absolutely beautiful! why put your things in a normal boring place when you could store your extra stuff in an old military bunker in the middle of the mountain that is naturally cool!! oh, but the best thing is that the ladies in the office are wonderful. Not my first and probably not my last time storing my things. This had been the first time I've stored in an non AC place. It is hot up in them bunkers so beware. I believe the greatest asset this place offers is the scenery and view. There's nothing spectacular about this business but the truth is, if you don't care for the long hours or the air conditioned amenities, this is the place for you! In truth, I'd probably come here again just because the prices are better then the rest of the competitors to save money. Overall, I do recommend this business for anyone who doesn't mind the shorter business hours. In reality, its worth it if you practically don't go into storage and leave youre things storing for long periods of time. read more

Needed a rental truck and couldn't find any until I checked here. From reserving the truck, to picking it up, to returning it the staff was helpful. The woman who helped me book the reservation on the phone was so friendly and assured me the truck would be available. When I arrived the man behind the desk explained everything clearly and even helped me save money since one of us had a Hawaii driver's license! Returning the vehicle was easy and the final bill was exactly what I expected. I would recommend them again and again! read more

[BEWARE] Thieves on-site. I am a Military member which I rented their storage unit for almost two years and trusted their policies to keep some of my photos, portraits, military gear, musical instruments, decoration, collection, furniture, and tools. On 15JUN23, I opened the roll up door and discovered all mentioned items went missing. I am confident that I locked my storage and checked it twice every time I leave. No forceful entry. It's literally a normal day. I thought I walked into someone else's unit but discovered they left the metal portion of my shelves, and I was completely cleaned out. For sure, those circular disk locks are easily picked. I went to the office to inquire and gave them a benefit of a doubt that they needed to empty my unit for any reason. The clerk and supervisor didn't seem shocked nor empathetic that my property were missing as though it is normal for things to be taken. They literally don't have anything else to say but to call the police and no assurance that my items would be found. They do not want to be liable and kept telling me to just call my Insurance Company. They never followed up with me to ask their off-shift personnel. I needed to stay calm for many reason but these, are my properties. I didn't appreciate their comments that I should have bought their locks and continued to ask if someone I trust came. I had both keys for the same lock which that is out of the question. Do yourself a favor, go there at your own risk and double lock that latch as I used one of those circular locks from City Mill. Understand that the only surveillance they have is the office and front gate. They do not have cameras in the bunkers and rely on their staff to roll around with their golf carts. There is only one way in and out of the facilities which requires to dial your personal code. I am certain that a fellow renter had taken my things. Another possibility, I remember a terrible storm destroyed the gate which any one can easily enter. I have been to multiple countries which I collected a lot of mementos with me such as a Photos, collections, Venetian Mask, German Beer Mug, Masonic items, etc. I am literally 4 months away from moving back to the mainland and a portion of my life was literally stolen from me... read more

In April of 2020 I left my job on this property, but as we invited Bauer Custom Flooring and Tile into our home to redo the flooring 7 months later it become apparent that we had Way Too much Stuff What do you do when you have too much stuff? Rent a Uhaul and haul it to somewhere where it can stop being your problem. . .legally. . .don't dump things on the side of the road, or leave them in the Uhaul or, for that matter, dump them on the property you rented your UHaul from thinking no one will find out it was you. . . I got a little off track, I have rented UHauls from this location 3 times now, the first time with the old StorQuest management was a disaster. I got a dirty truck covered in dog hair, I was overcharged and something (I forget what) was actually wrong with the vehicle on a saftey level. Due to that first occurance I rented my next vehicle from a nearby orange colored storage facility and when my friend moved I insisted we rented from the airport location. Well Sometimes the only choice you have is Waikele Storage Solutions because it kind of flies under the radar where it is, so when another friend was trying to move his entire life in a 2 door Mercedes Coupe I grudgingly put a reservation down for a cargo van from the property. The experience was 100% different, I had an immaculate vehicle that didn't make any concerning wubwubwubwub noises at speed and my bill was more in line with what I would have expected. Rychelle and the other staff at the time were very knowledgeable about the vehicles they had and the capabilities of said vehicles and my friends and I had a grand time in our van. It was after that second rental that I started to notice that the staff (now direct employees of the buisness owner) were taking it upon themselves to clean and maintain the vehicles instead of just summoning a UHaul rep to deal with them when they got "bad enough". Back to 2020 though, Bauer Custom Flooring and Tile. . . So we were condensing stuff from 2 rooms into 1 and naturally that created a needed shedding of both exess and duplicate items so I put down a reservation for a 10 foot box truck over the phone. I spoke to David who asked what the truck would be used for and I told him I was hauling household items to Waianae Convenience Center, he immediately paused and informed me that the City and County of Honolulu does not accept loads from the box trucks as they are legally considered commercial vehicles. That was not information I had, blew my mind. If David hadn't said anything we would have spent big money on a vehicle, drove it from Waikele to Waianae, loaded it up and drove to the dump only to have been turned away. . .totally blowing the one day that we had to do this run. David's knowledge of the island and proactive approch to the rental process got us into the correct vehicle instead and we were able to do the work we needed to get done. It's still a 5 star review but I thought it warranted an update regardless. I will be coming here for all future rentals. read more

Although the communication was great, when my daughter picked up the car, it was infested with ants, ant eggs, cock-roaches and geckos. Detailers wanted $450 to clean it up it was so bad and she had taken it to a car wash prior to dropping off, so there was no food or anything in the care prior to delivering it to storage. Needless to say, we will NEVER use these folks again. read more

Been here for over 3 years and it's gotten better and better. We've gone from a 10x8 to a 8x8 and finally managed to downsize my "stuff" to a 5x8. All made easier through the help of Rychelle. Can't thank her enough for her service, understanding and help. Kudos also to David and to Jr. for helping us to trash and recycle so many items - saved us multiple trips. All with a smile. Do not park your car or boat here. This place is located next to the creek and all the ants will eat your cars. I left my car here for two months and was full of ants in the car when I came back. It seems bit cheaper but you will end up paying more money. read more

This place been awesome. I had a storage with them for 2 years with no complaints. The hours was ok to me cause I hardly went in it anyways. I did estimates with many storage places & they had the cheapest rates. One they don't have AC; two they are not 24/7, & three lol It's kinda spooky. Luckily they did away with the generators & upgraded it to something better. The workers are so friendly & very helpful. Trust me you won't be disappointed coming here. Today is my last day with them unfortunately but if I do need a storage again I will use them for sure!!! ;) read more

I was kicked out before closing. The posted hours are not actual. We have had multiple units at this location through 2 different owners and now they treat us like dirt. Very disappointed.. they tried to tell me their hours changed.. but the website, the sign at the gate, and maps show the hours. They need to consider that the customers agreement to rent includes access. read more

Do not store your car here. Mine was dropped off in perfect condition, covered in a tarp, strapped down, vacuumed. When I came back, the tarp was off and the car was filthy and infested with ants. Worst part: my car had been vandalized and the staff said nothing to me while I was gone. It was just sitting there with the tarp on the ground, propped up on a jack. They had taken the catalytic converters off. It would have been obvious that something happened. Zero emails or calls about it. They just kept billing me like nothing happened. And when I reported it the staff just told me to call the cops and file a police report. The lot is gated and they have "security" but when your car gets vandalized anyway, what good is it? read more

worst storage ever stay away from them!!! i lost all my furniture because they have a rat infestation and the rats chew pee and poop in my furniture. i had to throw everything away! the were even dead rats inside the unit i was renting! it was the worst experience of my life and i lost thousands of dollars and they only gave me $500 dlls cause thats the max they give for rodent damages! if you don't want to loose everything you're going to store there don't ever use their storages ! oh and on top of that i had to throw everything away myself and pay a u-haul truck and dispenser oh and you cannot imagine how the smell was! i used the storage for 9 months and you don't know how much i regretted ! read more

Pay a little extra monthly and don't rent here. I rented at this place for a total of over a year. Sometime between 2012-2013, and recently from 2021-2022. It is affordable, the staff has been friendly. The issues I've found are: the solar panels broke and it took weeks to get the generator back out (storage in the dark!). The solar panels were not fixed within 4 months after that (to this day). The other issue just happened today. I checked out of my unit and was informed they no longer pro-rated for the month. That means I am being charged for the rest of the month for nothing. Seems it would be pretty simple to calculate that difference and cut the payment for a loyal customer. In fact, IT WAS DONE for me back in 2013. When I asked today why they don't pro-rate anymore, the man behind the counter said "it's just another way we make money". I've felt years of good customer service and affordable monthly rates were just erased this morning. Maybe this company is suffering for business (hence the $25 refer a friend credit). Seems greed has overtaken any sense of appreciation for a long time customer with a unit for over a year. read more

Aloha! I have been storing with Waikele Self Storage for about 4 years. I was looking for a central location when I found them online. I was a bit skeptical about the surroundings, but once the friendly and knowledgeable staff showed me the property, I was sold. The management has upgraded with solar electric lights, brightening the bunker space, and dehumidifiers since I first moved in. The security has never been an issue and it is always clean. I am very impressed with this storage facility that I have referred several of my people and they still use them. I am also amazed by the history of the facility and how it came about. Knowing that the space was already existing and being recycled (used and not abandoned) is always good to know. The owners supporting and donating back to the community is a big plus and shows that they care. Much Mahalo for everything. read more

I received a call from Rachelle, the manager, who was not happy that I said she was unhelpful on a Google review. She did not offer to call the regional office to help find a truck nor offer if we would like to reserve one for the next day. She basically just said - sorry we don't have it and that was it. During her phone call she never apologized for not trying to help further and instead of defensive of her actions. I ended up calling several different UHaul locations to try to find a truck but was unsuccessful so we just booked one at this location for the next day. Obviously she saw this because she ended our phone call by saying that "since you're so unhappy with my service you can find somewhere else to rent your truck from." This response from here was so unacceptable it actually shocked me. If her goal was to try to get me to improve my review, she did the opposite. I have now dropped my review to a 1 star review, I have called corporate to file a complaint, I have the regional managers number to call on Monday and I will be complaining to him and I am also filing a BBB complaint. This is NOT how you should ever treat a customer. BE WARNED, RACHELLE is the manager and refuses to give information about who is above her and she is NOT customer oriented. read more
