If I could leave No star I would. The attendant is not helpful and at 7 pm tonight the elevator to my unit wasn't working and nobody answered the phone to help. I needed some important papers from my unit for early meeting and couldn't get in my storage at 7pm and they say open till 9 pm. To make it more frustrating the black dude that lives on site was home w 2 cars there and all lites on. He had scolded me before not to knock on his place but to call so I didn't. I am a woman alone at night in that place with no help. Lucky I didn't get attacked. He wouldn't be any help! This is the 3 rd time this year I felt I was treated bad and prices are going up 25 percent. I am very upset at this service and will move to another facility due to this incident. I guess this company doesn't care about losing business. read more

If I could give NO star I would. This facility is rat infested. An entire large unit's business inventory (interior design) ruined. The insurance that they REQUIRE you to purchase monthly does not cover Vermin. Yes they did give a few months of free rent (not even a itty bitty dent of what the contents were worth) but not once did they even offer to compensate or work something out for the RUINED, STINK, RAT INFESTED, PEE on everything - even holes in furniture from rats "nesting" and having babies. Disgusting and it's all the fault of the facility. Got an estimate from 3 different local pest company's - THOUSANDS of dollars to clean and sanitize not even guaranteeing it could be sanitized due to the extent of the infestation. Did public storage offer to help in any way? Nope. Not at all. And in the meantime rent was still due monthly along with late fees even though we had no access (warned by pest control company not to enter unit as we could get very ill, also validated by my physician as well) therefore NO BUSINESS could be conducted because items were polluted from rats. Not only did the business lose TONS of money public storage did nothing to help even though it was PUBLIC STORAGES responsibility to maintain their property. They obviously knew there was a rat problem as there are now tons of traps. Not once did they even warn the renters of this problem. There are tons of rat trap boxes everywhere. Also Your unit is not fully secured - there are big openings between the ceilings and the so called "wall" between other units it's no wonder why the rats could climb unit to unit. And mind you they will keep raising your rent regardless if your a good customer or not. Within 2 years the rent will just about double. Btw... they even raised rents during the entire pandemic AND during state mandated lockdowns. Last thing... if you happen to have emergency on premise don't bother calling the number listed - it's a mainland number & good luck getting in touch with anyone. We had been at the unit trying to take pics at night of the rat damages, pulled the car in front of storage unit so we could get more lighting. Well my fault but the battery on my car died. Called every number they had listed, it was about 8:45 pm and I had to call someone to come and give me a jump. The front security gate will not open after 9pm. There's a gentleman who lives on property so I knocked and knocked to tell him that I'm stuck within faculty gate with car battery dead, he never answered so I tapped on his glass window in hopes he'll hear it thinking maybe the doors were too thick or heavy. Oh boy do not under any circumstances bother him (even though you'd THINK he's the night manager and on premise for a reason) he practically bite my head off & screamed at me acting like I was trying to crack his window. I was stuck in the facility with a dead battery. I asked him what I could do to let someone into gate. He said "just open" it (rudely) and slammed his door. We figured out (with no help from night manager) it will only open from inside out after over an hour of thinking. He could of saved us an hour & told us how to get in/out after hours. He could of been what he was hired for as well - I'm pretty sure they won't let someone live there overnight without some purpose of being there. Posted a few pics but more will be posted soon. Although specific sites may have excellent managers and treat the customers well, Public Storage corporate is out to gouge the customers and the company does not empower the site managers or their district managers to provide a good customer experience. If you are looking for long-term storage, this is NOT the company to work with. They raise their prices regularly. They will work with you and submit exceptions for so long, but this time around they raised my rent by 25%!!! Their logic was, "we have to raise prices based on market and demand, just like an airline raises their prices." My response to that retort is the airlines don't raise the price on you while you are mid-flight. If the rate increases were on par with inflation, or within reason, that would make sense, but they push hard to get you out by raising your rent to unreasonable rates because they want to rent it out at the new rate. When I spoke to my district manager she said "I have done everything I can," which is either a cop-out, or it means the corporate office and the people who make decisions are not the people who actually work with the customers. They do not empower their leaders to lead and run their businesses. read more

The location is good for the most part, but in less than a year, my rate went from $217 to $307. The increase is just way too much for what you get, especially when you consider the building is very old, the floors seem like they can collapse, and there's no air conditioning. read more

Only give 1 star because of helpful employees, I wish I could give 0. They have raised our total monthly bill from 145$ to $190 in 1 year. Outrageous for a 5'x10' nonlinear controlled. Poor management and ill-trained workers. Also over priced. My father who has passed away was paying over $300 a month for a small closet. I notified by phone that i will be flying in from San Diego, CA over a month ahead. Over a two day phone conversation; i was told the Will and Trust is all i need to show once i arrive on island. When i walked in and showed my legal docs they told me they needed to fax copies to thier legal office for review! not to mention; it might take 30 days! My flight back to CA was in 7 days. If they needed copies i could have faxed, email, mailed it a month prior. Thanks to alot of complaining, i got approval from their legal dept after 3 days, those three days really threw my schedule upside down. What you would expect from public storage. The cheapest place on island to get a rental space but you don't get the frills that you would with some of the other nicer places. I rented this because I wanted something cheap and it was the best deal on island. Manager does not live on site and the units are made pretty cheaply. You can see down into the other units from ours and they don't provide you carts for hauling unless the office is open. No 24 hour access. read more

I'm glad I waited to leave a review since the manager and front-desk gal had asked me (at least 3 times) to leave a review on the first day I opened the storage from the point I was in-office doing the paperwork to the point I left. They even gave me a slip noting exactly which business listing/location to leave it for. I had intended to do it when I got home, but got busy which is exactly what they were trying to emphasize not allowing to happen because they wanted me to follow through on the review. Since it would've only been my first day, it was asking me to pretty much leave a review on the interaction I had with the manager and front-desk associate. They were nice but like all reviews I can't base it on just that. As mentioned, I'm glad I waited because I don't think this is a 5-star location. In just the few months I've had my storage here, there was 2 weekends in either September or October where the elevator wasn't working. More recently, they changed their hours due to the gate not working. Most days now are not open past 6pm. It's been going on for over a month now. When I first found out, it was such an inconvenience as I wanted to unload the stuff in my car already. That was awhile ago. I just went back a few days ago and same thing...gate was still broken and I couldn't get in since it was past 6pm. I find it very inconvenient and not sure why it's taking so long to fix. This location is not that impressive compared to their Pearl City site. I'm guessing this is an older site. PRO: secured property gated all the way around You will need an access code Price is very very reasonable CONS: a bit on the dingy side Cement storage, (no inside storage) so its all outside garage units. So you really need to pack your things tightly. This may not be one of the best places to store your household good for long periods. Short term storage is probably best. And I say this due to the outside climate again it's outside storage unit. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Silvia is very polite, and informative. They close at six & I was coming from downtown. We had a storage unit, and our locker was broken into even though the lock they provided was securely in place. They called us to give us the bad news and we were and still are upset about our experience with Public Storage for not having any type of video monitoring capability. However, we did not factor that into consideration because it was an assumption that all public storage type facilities have or should have video surveillance. Awful place, nice people...but nice people won't bring back my personal items. read more

Its a simple property. The layout is almost inconvenient due to having to use an elevator which doubles your time spent moving into your unit. Sadly if you are moving in after office ours there are no bathrooms for customers to use without the bathroom key. Also feel the need to say that it is not climate controlled, because we spend a total of 4 hours there and felt no air flow of anything. We have had a storage space here since 2011. We always receive excellent customer service. Our unit was broken into last year. They called us right away and helped us to an inventory. Not entirely their fault. Cameras would be nice to have, but even cameras won't catch everything. Overall I am still satisfied with the facility and the customer service. read more

Both of the idiots in the office don't know what the fuck they are doing. One says one thing the other says another. Sophia called to state our payment was due on the 23rd so my wife went in on the 23rd to make the payment only to be told it was due on the 22nd so now we owed a late fee. My wife was then told by Sophia to either pay or get our shit out. When asked to speak with a manager Sophia stated she was the manager which was a lie. We only used Public Storage for about a week during our transition into our home. Donna was amazing! She was professional, communicated clearly our storage contract, and went the extra mile to help us in our transition. Thank you Donna!!!! The facility and units were clean and access was easy, we had storage on the 2nd floor. I would have given a 5 star but for a few thing's when entering the west door there is a step up that..I missed and tripped carrying our couch...ouch. The office staff (not Donna!!)was unfriendly and barely acknowledge our presences when requesting assistance. ( a key to the moving carts.) Yesterday I went in to open a unit, greeted by a lady named Donna. She was the best. She answered every question I had, showed me the unit we talked about the carts which are only open during office hours which is understandable. Carts go missing if it's not being monitored. Not the newest place but it's very convenient and reasonable prices as well. I was really satisfied. Be careful of this business establishment. Check other Storage companies first. August 12, at first I was having a good business with this location, I made the reservation online for August 24, I was glad the lady called me the same day. I went to the location to check the space and found that it was sufficient for my need. Talked to the lady in the front desk and agreed that i'll get a space on August 24, but the lady was a little pushy to start the contract the same day. She was giving me all sorts sales talk to force me to pay for the rent already. Sunday, August 14, the same lady called me to inform me that they dont have anymore unit in the location. I was surprised because I just confirmed it 2 days prior that I will get a unit pn August 24. Now they want to recommend me to a different location, the problem is I already sent the Storage's Address to the movers and changing the delivery address is not easy, that is usually followed by more problems being in the Army. I had a reservation for Aug 24 and they cpnfirmed it and now they are telling me they can't hold it that long. What kind of business are they running? Be careful of this fishy business. read more

Poor customer service across the board, from the front counter that could only give a one sentence as an answer. To the customer service center I called. After going through three different options of trying to put me in contact with the office I just walked out of, I got a person who could not make me happy, and her only solution was for me to call the district manager. After telling her I didn't have a pen handy, the first good service I got was directly connecting me. The DM could speak the business, "my rate was below market" and at some point I think she tried to upgrade my unit for an additional fee... But at this point I had stopped listen. Because no one at this company knows anything about customer service. The root cause, my rate that I signed up for the unit had gone up with a letter notice which I didn't receive. Resulting in late fees which I don't feel I owe. The funny part is I will prolly move my storage need else where, and spend more a month, but I sure hope the service will be better. read more
