I just moved in yesterday from another storage facility in Kapole'i. I moved because the rates kept going up. My review is about the move in process and what they offer compared to the last place. The last place was Hawaii self storage on Lauwiliwili St in Kapolei. What a difference! This place has electronic doors that open in to the building whereas the other place has a very heavy door that you are trying to prop open with your shoulder while getting your moving trolly in or out of the door. My It was upon move out of my old place that i realized how much I hated going there. It was so hard to move things in or out. This place was a breeze. They have lots of trollies whereas the old place only has one and it sounds like a barking seal. My 5' x 7' unit has carpet whereas my old unit was just concrete. Same size unit for $70 less a month. The office staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I just needed a facility between town and Makaha. This place is minutes off H1/H2. I would highly recommend. read more

Public Storage - Thank you Janet for helping me today. She was able to help lower my monthly payment with moving everything today do the next six months! - Self Storage Near Me - Waipahu, Hawaii

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would have done it. They raised my rates drastically on me multiple times. I've downsized my storage space three times with this company and the rates keep inflating to what I paid for my larger storage unit. I currently pay over $200 a month for a 5'x5' space. I've seen similar sized space advertised for $40 a month. Don't fall for this trap!! Stay away from this place. They will raise your rates, I guarantee it!!! If you've had a similar rate hike with this company, please leave a review because their yelp rating is very suspicious. I can't believe they have this much positive ratings. I can't be the only customer whose rates have increased drastically since signing up. read more

Customer service was really awesome. Thank you janet for making it very simple, understanding, and quick to get a space.

RATS!!! Wouldn't recommend... we had valuables stored away, clothing items, certificates, grandmas antiques... boxes were soiled, rat droppings everywhere. We had to dispose of a lot of things that we kept here. :( read more

This site is great, but the company itself is not. Maria was very awesome in working with us. She set us up, checked in on us and had great customer service. However, Public Storage corporate is out to gouge the customers and the company does not empower the site managers or their district managers to provide a good customer experience. If you are looking for long-term storage, this is NOT the company to work with. They raise their prices regularly. They will work with you and submit exceptions for so long, but this time around they raised my rent by 25%!!! Their logic was, "we have to raise prices based on market and demand, just like an airline raises their prices." My response to that retort is the airlines don't raise the price on you while you are mid-flight. If the rate increases were on par with inflation, or within reason, that would make sense, but they push hard to get you out by raising your rent to unreasonable rates because they want to rent it out at the new rate. When I spoke to my district manager she said "I have done everything I can," which is either a cop-out, or it means the corporate office and the people who make decisions are not the people who actually work with the customers. They do not empower their leaders to lead and run their businesses. read more

Went up to check something in my unit and because it has been awhile, I went to the front office to check my passcode. An Employee named Maria helped me and I must say that her professionalism and willingness to help a customer was awesome! I also inquired to see if they were offering the opportunity to request a rate adjustment due to hardships brought on by COVID and she told me that since I was a very longtime customer in good standing, that she would forward my request up her chain on my behalf. Needless to say, I got a positive response 2 days later and my rate will be adjusted starting next month. Awesome service and support for their customers, especially during these tough times! read more

I just cancelled my storage unit with this location, after having been there for four years, plus an additional 18 months several years ago. We bought a house recently and in the last year had downsized to a smaller unit, and then finally moved out since we no longer needed storage. This location is well-maintained, well-lit, clean, and we have received superior customer service on the several occasions we needed to contact the office. Clearing the unit was easy through the app. I am glad to let go of that monthly payment, but the peace of mind f having our items stored there was completely worth it. Mahalo and keep up what you are doing. read more

PUBLIC STORAGE is a ripoff. They are currently advertising 5x10 closets for $185 a month. I am now paying $350 for my 5x10 closet. They entice you in with the cheap price. Once you fill the closet and have nowhere else to store your possessions, they jack up the price!!!!!! read more

BACKGROUND INFO: initially made a reservation at the Pearl City location. Made the reservation online on Monday 8/9 to move in on 8/14. They said they'd email me a confirmation but never did. But they sent me a text to confirm so I thought, "great! I'll just move in on Saturday." Monday evening I get a call from someone from Public Storage giving me instruction on what to do on the day of moving in. So, on Thursday I decide to go down to the location just to make sure the space is big enough and to pay for the reservation. Girl at the counter tells me the there are no spaces left. I told her I made a reservation online and she told me that the reservation is just to lock in the price. After that it's first come, first served. So, wait, you take the reservation but you don't hold the reservation?? Isn't that the most important part of the reservation?? I was fed up. Decided to call the Waipio location and from start to finish, Andrew hooked me up with the space, talked me through the entire process (unlike the lady from the Pearl City location) and I was able to move in on Saturday as planned. It was a smooth transaction from start to finish. Folks at the Waipio location made me a Public Storage customer and a happy one at that. Will never deal with the Pearl City location. Ever. read more

We have been customers of Public Storage for over a year until yesterday when we decided to end our contract with them due to a break-in in our storage unit. Michelle & Maria were helpful but wished the company could have provided more assistance to us after the incident. I also suggest that they reconsider the design of the storage unit since the top is only covered by mere chicken wire. I've had to take off from work to clear out our unit, file claims and reports. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else and that these thieves get caught. read more

I've been using this location for a while now, even before renting my current unit. Safe and well lit location, customer service on point, and very clean. I was wanting to transfer to a smaller unit and rules are rules, but wish there was a way to save money from moving from the old to the new. I would definitely recommend this particular location as it is easy access and staff is very helpful and frirndly! read more

HUGE mahalo to Breanna, Maria, and Antonia for your assistance! My mom and I were happy with our experience from start to finish. We came for initial inquiry on Monday, met Maria and she was SO helpful. We came in 30 minutes before closing and she had to answer a phone call, and assist another customer who walked in. But she still managed to stay really positive and patient with us as she showed us the different units/sizes. We came in two days later to start our lease and Breanna was glad to show us the units before we made our final decision. She was very helpful with the payment process and didn't pressure us with silly prices. The ladies at Waipio Public Storage are friendly and accommodating! We had a nice conversation about lady issues too -- So my mom and I got the impression that these ladies really want to get to know the customers they're serving instead of just being all about business. Good customer service the moment we walked in and out. Answered all our questions. We're glad we chose this Public Storage!!! read more

Public self storage is the place where you want to store your things! It has spacious units, secure, and provides everything you need to store your belongings. The price is reasonable and its month to month so you are not locked in and can move anytime. The best part is the excellent, fabulous, wonderful manager on site Maria. She helped me with all my storage needs and had the best customer service! She answered all questions and was very honest and helpful. She is the reason why I went with public storage! She made me feel that I can trust this company and their service. Fantastic! read more

This is my first time renting a storage unit and overall it was really easy here. I did most of the sign up process online, including getting the first month for $1 (plus fees). Maria oriented me to the facility and was informative and helpful. We'll see how the storage unit goes in terms of security and quality of the facilities, but so far so good! You can only access this place until 9pm, which sucks when you're trying to move with a mattress strapped down and get there at 10pm. That's my only complaint. It's convenient to access when going between town and NS and close to costco too, perfect! FYI there are 2 other Public Storage facilities in the same 1 mile block radius and google maps isn't so great at finding this one...Let's just say I found it eventually! read more

As a small business owner of Lopez Towing I was in search of a 10x30 storage unit to store equipment and tools that are part of my business I was able to lock a great rate online, and soon enough I made my way to the PS office where I was welcome by Maria Ting who was glad to help me out by showing me the unit . The unit was clean ready to move in and was impress by how much room there is to drive right up to the unit. The price was super cheap by far the cheapest on the island and the location was perfect very central Oahu. Maria is a huge asset to the company she made me feel welcome and the sign in process was a breeze very professional with her customers and had a one on one interaction with me. Office had nice cold AC and very clean and up keep. I highly recommend to any small business owner or military personal super high tech security "Fort Knox Style" Thanks Maria and the Public Storage Staff Mahalo read more

This is a nice, clean well-maintained facility. Honestly, I chose them because they were relatively close to me - but there are 2 others that are a similar distance from me - and because they had the lowest advertised price. I've used storage places before and, compared to the old places I used before, this place is terrific. The employees were very helpful and friendly, access is easy and access hours are convenient. I really like that you can get to your storage locker even on holidays. I can definitely recommend this Public Storage facility to anyone who is looking for a little extra space. read more

Not satisfied and will take my things out when the month is over. It's dirty, security bad, difficult getting in and out and to use the elevator. I stood outside almost 2 hours because there was no hand trucks or carts!! When I received confirmation email, it said my move in amount is $52. I was charged $88!!! Employees park in front when it should be for customers . I told the employee that a lady was blocked in and found out it was her car. She made no attempt to move her car. Just read another review that someone had their unit broken into. Even if you buy insurance, how do you get your things back? Oh yeah, there was a couple in there thar weren't watching their kids. The boys were running around and banging on all the storage unit doors. So, they not watching. Also no emergency or evacuation info near elevators. Waited over 10 minutes until elevator finally came. Floors are dirty, inside elevator is dirty. The other guys that posted positive reviews must own or work there or related to them because they're lying. read more
