I cannot say enough good things about Heather and Chantelle at Storage Sense in Lawrence. In a world where great customer service feels like a lost art, these two are absolute standouts. This location is now under new management--and that management is Heather and Chantelle. That's important to know, because their leadership and dedication completely transform the experience here. They aren't just showing up for a paycheck--they clearly care about doing their jobs well, and it shows in how they treat every customer. There was a glitch in the system with my reservation (through no fault of theirs or mine), and it took extra time to sort out. But instead of brushing it off or getting frustrated, they handled it with total professionalism, patience, and kindness. They went out of their way to make sure everything was resolved properly and that I felt supported the entire time. They made what could have been a stressful situation into a positive one. More importantly, they made me feel like a valued human being--not just a transaction. Heather and Chantelle are raising the bar for what customer service should look like. Other businesses--especially in the service and rental industry--could learn a lot from the way they operate. the best storage facility are you kidding me they are charging me 217.00 for a 10x10 which rent for 140 + rental insurance that doesn't cover anything not rain, snow, hail, or extreme heat. huge rats got into my storage and ate my michael kors purse and matching wallet that were well over 1000.00 that wasn't the worst my mama gave me that as a gift and she passed away this last nov. when i asked if they would cover my losses they replied "no things like that happen" so i asked what does the insurance pay for? they couldn't tell me what it covered and btw out of the 217.00 i pay 17$ is the insurance cost. they advertise 140.00 for my unit so why do i pay over 200.00. to make matters worse a year ago they tried to evict me for having beds in my storage and closing the door 3/4ths of the way down during the worst snow storm we had. they told me i can't close my door while i'm on the property. i explained to them i was only trying to keep the snow and moisture out and it was below 0!!! i then asked if they could show me on my contract where it says i can't close my door halfway during extreme weather while i'm on the property? of course they couldn't. i do have to say the owner called me the very next day and said they fired that person and i wasn't kicked out. later i found out they either hired her back or never fired her in the first place... it really surprised me to see any good reviews, cuz since the old owner sold it, which i waited 3 months on a wait list to get in because there wasn't any units available. now there are many empty units which doesn't shock me but all these good reviews must be from people that don't care about their stuff getting ruined from the elements and animals!! or they are short term rentals. i bet if asked what the rental insurance covers they will tell u that insurance is from a separate company and they don't know what it covers.... i'd check around town cuz i know for a fact in the same city not more than 2 miles away, you can get inside storage which is weather controlled 24 hrs a day entry and a whole lot cheaper. the only reason i haven't moved is because i am disabled and had lung cancer and i am in no shape to move my stuff... but believe me the day is coming by aug - sept i'm outta that place.... read more

Do not rent from here! They jacked the price up from $29 to $129 with only notice was supposedly an email which I never received. Honestly $100 a month price increase, needs a phone call. The only reason I found out about the massive price hike is because it was on my credit card statement. I double checked by rental agreement, there was no introductory rate that expired, which they confirmed over the phone. Their only answer was that the agreement said they could raise prices anytime. So I guess if they decided the new rent was $1000 a month, that should just be okay???? read more

I'm donating my review in hopes of educating potential Storage sense victims before they become victims!!!! Every since Storage Sense bought the Lawrence KS location, they've consistently and frequently INCREASED RENT!!!!!!! Plus, created every way possible to tack on additional fees, all in the name of increasing or maintaining security!!! Any excuse to PRICE GOUGE is a good excuse for SS!!! Just another GREEDY corporation laughing all the way to the bank while they REAP what little is left from the CHATTELS paycheck!!!!! Don't worry the SS has plenty of company among the rest of the storage providers who also price gouge!!! They're ALL complicit!!! If you don't need close access or environmental control, find someone who will let you store your stuff in their barn or shed out in the country!!! I bet they'd accept 1/2 as much, or maybe less. Storage sense Lawrence is not a good place to be when you need a storage unit . Carrie was a great manager she left . I tried to pay my storage on line it wouldn't except it . I'm on fixed income SSDI Disability so I went in to pay and another month was added to me plus late fees as well I told manager I tried to pay online but it wouldn't except it , I used my bank card it's been excepting he said he would look into it . I had to call him back he never did call me so by they're online hiccup here they're saying I owe $451.00 how can I pay that on disability I asked Justin to work with me I can't it's policy . Really like you were going to look into it for me but never called me back . Storage sense Lawrence don't care about you or your belongings they rob you won't help you at all . He said he couldn't find out why my payment was not excepted . I asked to talk to his boss and was told that's not possible to try and save my belongings not a chance it's not bad ENOUGH the landlord sells your rental your living in and don't tell you . Then you have to rent a storage for your stuff and they screw you out of everything you own .
