Due to my belongings being exposed to the water for 3-4 months I now have significant contamination to my belongings! I paid my storage unit on time and most of the time I paid my storage bill early! I am devastated! I am disabled and now I am going expected to lift every tote/box and itemize each item! It's not a surprise that is going to be a lot of work for me! I have recently have suffered two heart attacks so on top of my already horrific health issues this is a nightmare! Had the managers notified me that there had been severely units flooded months ago near mine the damage to mine could have been avoided! Beware before using this storage facility!

When I did attempt to get my belongings on several occasions, I was met with a swarm of them. I stood in the parking lot visibly upset, defending myself with a broom as their employee watched from the back of the office while sitting in their vehicle. Now, as I have made my way to the back of the unit I find that my belongings have been INFESTED WITH MICE. And NO, I didn't bring them there with me. I am trying to remove my items so that I am not UPCHARGED yet another month in rent in less than 2 weeks. yay for moving mice and other pests into my clean new home. Thanks a lot Storage Mart. I would love a refund for the last month and 1/2 but seeing as their employees clearly sit and watch as their paying customers struggle with the cleanliness and safe access to the facilities, I don't expect they will handle anything of the sort. I will likely need to speak to someone who doesn't work at the facility so I am hopeful that someone from corporate reads the reviews. I have yet to assess the damage to my property. I had almost given up when stumbled on this newly opened location. I left a VM & were promptly called back by owner Jim. He pleasantly described the property layout and our various options. I then logged onto his user friendly website & immediately reserved one of his affordable 40' sites. A few days later I regretted not reserving one of the 50' sites. I contacted Jim & and he gladly modified my reservation to a 50' without any hassle. Knowing that I was moving to Overland Park from out of state, Jim spent time on the phone with me answering several questions I had about the area. Super nice guy willing to go out of his way to help me out.

Once I got to the counter, the clerk told me that I had to pick up the truck at another location (3100 Main, Kansas City, MO). Since I didn't have a car (as I thought I was picking up the truck) I had to take an Uber the other site. When I arrived at the second location, there was another long line (20 minute wait). While in line, I received a call from U-Haul inquiring if I was still getting my truck since I was past the pick up time - the audacity. I ordered a dolley and it wasn't in the truck. I purchased a round lock for the truck and the cashier failed to tell me that it wouldn't fit on the truck's lock, so I had to purchase another one at Home Depot. There was less than 1/4 tank of gas in the truck when I picked it up.
