This was my second time visiting this restaurant and I'm very impressed with the level of service and the selection of menu items. I ordered the French Onion soup and Kale Salad. My husband order the steak and fries with a side of fried shrimp and he absolutely loved everything. The soup was a tad bit salty but that could be from the all the yummy cheese that's on the top. The warm rolls that are served once you order are so good I asked for another round. Although we ate 4 rolls each, I was tempted to asked for a 3 round but instead decided to wait for my meal. They are very addicting so beware. This may become one of my go to stops when I'm in the area. read more

The cowboy steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. The sea bass was also very juicy and tender- just an amazing special dish. My parents got the mushrooms for a side but my mom's dish was saltier and slightly over cooked so we got a different side since her other side was either too salty or spicy. I thought the Mac and cheese was a little too runny and could use slightly more texture. Their lemon poppy bread is so good! read more

This is one of those venues where the price should dictate an excellent dining experience each and every time we visit. But it's a bit like playing Russian Roulette. Sometimes it's the service and sadly sometimes it's the food. By example, I was telling friends how much I enjoyed the prime rib and after being disappointed, I got a ribeye. I liked it and returned die more of the same. The entre looked good but was dry and flavorless. It didn't rise to the level where I felt it right to complain but this hit or miss is tiresome for the price! read more

The whiskey shrimp appetizer was super filling. I probably could've just had that and been full but it was my cheat day for my meal plan so I wasn't letting those calories go to waste, of course I got an entree too. The whiskey shrimp was so savory, the sauce tasted like a light gravy almost giving it a shrimp and grits feel. Delicious! The filet mignon was cooked to perfection and it had a light char on the outside which I loved. I can't wait to go back. The outdoor seating was awesome, there was so much space between our party and the next. Very spacious. read more

We placed an order for pickup. They were surprisingly busy, especially the bar, which was packed! During COVID? They shorted the Mac and cheese, so we know that's not what made us all sick for 2 days. I won't be back. read more

Decided to pickup our meal for our anniversary. Set a pickup time for 7:30 pm. As we're heading to Annapolis at 7pm, my wife just so happened to look her phone and she received an email from Stoney River stating that our order was ready at 6:15pm. We called to see if the order had been sitting out for an hour. We got the run around on the phone, plus we were 5 minutes away. So we get there and the place is packed. So since we were already there and it took us a while to pick this place, we just decided to chalk it up to another COVID experience and take the order. Of course the food is cold, but even when it was microwaved, it was terrible. I paid $46 for the cowboy ribeye and it was all fat. I won't be going here again. read more

Only been here once and it was an awesome experience. Staff was good and both the appetizers and entrees were good. Only issue was the jasmine rice served with the dishes were waaaaaay to salty. read more

Went here on Valentine's Day. We had a reservation and am glad we did. We were sat within 15 minutes which was better than we expected because the waiting area and outside was packed. I had the fried shrimp and French fries. The shrimp were huge and delicious. My husband had a ribeye and macaroni and cheese which he said was soooooo good. When he took the first bite of his steak he actually closed his eyes to savor it. The service was excellent and the drinks from the bar were also pretty good. We will definitely go back when we're in the area. read more

It's ok. Angel (waiter) was the best part of the meal. Very attentive. Otherwise, to me this is nothing more than another mid-grade steak restaurant. read more

I have to give credit where it's due. I don't know what happened in the kitchen that day, but the meals I ordered ended up taking nearly an hour as opposed to the 20-25 mins they told me. Needless to say, the food was not up to its usual standards. HOWEVER, the staff and their response is why I'm changing my review from 2 to 4 stars. The manager (Jasmine?) came out and was super kind, friendly and accommodating, as were the other staff at that point. Definitely worth giving them another chance. I probably won't go when it's busy again. read more

The place was great! Loved the food. I was brought here as a surprise and I was really hoping to see some pescatarian/vegetarian friendly options on the menu, as I don't eat red meat often (yes, I know this is a steak house). I had the salmon and my boyfriend had the ribeye. Very happy with our server, she was very nice and checked on us regularly. read more

Went tonight for my husbands birthday- we had reservations at 5:15- seated right away- not busy at, but it was a Monday and early. For that reason- I thought it would be a nice dinner with attentive service... But, wait, not so fast- Ordered 4 Filets, 4 au gratin potatoes , 2 sides of creamed spinach and a Chicken Caesar salad- pretty simple and straight forward, or at least I thought. 45 minutes later, two of the four steaks were cooked correctly, the other two were medium rare to say the very least- I know some would say....perfect, but not when you don't like pink, it's a complete appetite turnoff. The potatoes were cold in the middle- so I'm assuming they were microwaved or not properly cooked- and the creamed spinach (menu description) was actually sautéed spinach, no cream at all. The waiter was friendly enough, but not readily available and rather slow- as it took him 10 minutes to take our drink order ( 3 waters, a diet coke and a Shirley Temple) In short- 4 steaks, 4 potatoes, 2 spinach sides- none of which were prepared accurately or as described - $243! Yep! Way too pricey for what we were served. I chose not to send the steaks back- because we had waited so long already, we were not going to wait for another 20 minutes- so irritated, we just boxed the 2 potatoes and both spinach to go- left behind 2 nicely pink filets- $39 each- what a waste. Because I do appreciate that most servers are students, I choose to not take bad food and poor management out on them. I gave him a 20% tip, hoping that I could make his night better than Stoney River made my husbands birthday dinner and our night out with the kids. In short, this is a mall steak house and not much more- just looks fancy.- a little. Very pricey for the food and service. I told my husband I now owe him a birthday do over! We will not be back- the value just isn't there! I'd love to hear from someone there- with an explanation- I'm curious if I will? Wonder if the really ever read these things? Reservations were made on 1/28 for five @ 5:15 under Lou. We will see if I receive any correspondence back from them- I'll keep you posted! read more

not at all impressed with the food. Service not so great and they're always offering coupons which is a telltale sign.

We went for a nice dinner and that's exactly what we got. The atmosphere was good, the service was great and we got what we paid for. The appetizers were fantastic. We had the cheesesteak egg rolls, deviled eggs and shrimp toast, each were great in their own way. We had steak for dinner, very tasty, tender and juicy. I recommend Stoney River . read more

Not bad. Not great, but not bad. Loved the Deviled Eggs, but had a wah wah wah moment with a Friuli white. I ordered dressing on the side for my Chicken Thai salad, which was HUGE and crunchy. But the chicken was dry. My husband's rib eye was pretty good, well priced and the frites are thin and crispy like good frites should be. They were very accommodating for our HUGE party of people, and service didn't miss a beat. Not bad at all! And prices for a steak house are very reasonable. read more

I have been in Maryland for the past 5 months, and I have tried a multitude of different restaurants from Pasadena down to Waldorf. I haven't written a review because I didn't want to sound like a complete whiner. Let's just say MD is NOT know for good service. Now that I'm leaving, I find this place, white table cloths and all. I started out with the Tuna Stack, diced raw tuna on top of mango salsa with the final layer of perfect avocado. This was served with homemade Tortilla chips, I'm not a fan of tortilla chips, but these were really good. This was amazing. Next up was a 10oz, "cut the horns off and wipes his arse, if the vet can recessitate him, he's done," perfectly cooked filet with herbed butter melting on top and a loaded, seasoned, baked potato. WOW! Give me a minute, I'm drooling again... The waitress brought a fresh soda before I was finished with the last one, and the manager stopped by to make sure I was pleased. I was more than pleased. I finally found a spot in MD with great food and great service! My ONLY complaint, and not their fault, was trying to find a parking spot. They are located in the Annapolis Mall, and it was Black Friday. It took longer to find a spot than it did to consume the food. My tip to the young lady showed my gratitude for the great service. Well done, Stoney River, well done. read more

This has been one of my favorite restaurants for years but my last few visits have been mediocre at best. The quality and the temperature of the food has declined. The signature bread bites, apps, and entrees are served barely above room temperature. Not to mention, the key lime pie (my favorite) doesn't taste quite the same. Hopefully, the new owners will make the needed adjustments to stop the downward spiral. read more

We often dine at Stoney River Steakhouse in Annapolis. We wanted to go out for a lovely evening for a change. The meal started out well...however, when my husband dug into his mashed potatoes with carmelized onions, he encountered a foreign object in the potatoes. After expelling it onto the plate and attempting to determine what it was with a steak knife, it was obviously a stone at least 3/4 inch in diameter. We notified the waitress, who brought over the manager, who said she was sorry and did we wish to have a dessert on the restaurant. NO, we do not want dessert....we want to know why my husband almost ingested a stone! We will not be dining there again. At the very least, one meal should have been removed from the check. But instead, the check was $140 plus tip for two. read more

Exclellent service from our waiter DJ. This was our 3rd trip in a little more than a month and he actually remembered waiting on us before which made us feel even more welcome. He was attentive without being overbearing and definitely was knowledgeable about the menu. Stoney River - Blackened Salmon... Asparagus... Sweet Potato Casserole... - Steakhouses Near Me - Annapolis, Maryland

This was a recommendation for our routine "boss ladies" dinner and what a great selection. I've never dined here before and after this visit I will be returning for sure. The location is not what is typically expected for a restaurant colocated/inside a shopping mall. Additionally, the experience was the same as dining at a brick and mortar restaurant which was a great surprise. The interior is cozy and intimate. The open kitchen area has a "Hells Kitchen" vibe (if you've ever dined there) which is unique and entertaining. There is a wide selection of wines with an open bar to create drinks of choice if preferred. The menu had a wide array of options for the meat lovers or non-meat eaters like myself. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. The dining room filled pretty quickly causing a slight backup in the kitchen (we didn't notice because of our constant chatter) but the manager approached us to apologize and brought the slight delay to our attention prior to us realizing our entrees had not arrived. What a way to get ahead of complaints to address the issue, this was different. The desert options are varied and the portion sizes (minus creme brûlée) are large enough to share with multiple people. Everything was delicious and a near future visit is guaranteed. Lastly, reservations is a good idea but walk-ins are accommodated. read more

This place is always great! I've been coming here since the opened. The one thing I'll never forget is the time I came with my father when he just gotten out of the hospital for the first time after his first round of chemo. He had to be in a private room, which they have. We called up a few hours before we wanted to come and they were more than happy to accommodate that! The waiter we had that night had just gone into remission from cancer as well which was nice for my father. My father had a great first night out of the hospital with a steak dinner and some wine at a restaurant, which made him feel more normal. Thank you for that! read more

Was in the mood for a good steak, early Sunday afternoon, and I knew my options would be slim as the Ruth Chris's and other well known steakhouse would not open until 4PM... well Stoney River was open, so we decided to give it a try. I didn't expect too much from this place as it was in the mall, but it was nice inside... not as classy as some of the high end steakhouse's, but nice. My country cut ribeye was cooked perfectly, tender with very good flavor... I was happy with my steak. My wife ordered the prime rib and was loving life as she claimed this to be the best prime rib she has had. The sides were all good, The deserts were nothng fancy, but also very good... again, my wife was loving her creme brulee, and my key lime pie slice was large and tasty. When the check arrived I just thought about how much more I would have spent had we went to a Ruth Chris's, and we were still very satisfied with the meal and experience. read more

Ok let me start to say they food here it's actually good. The atmosphere is nice and everything. NOW.... Let's talk about RESERVATIONS!!!! RESERVATIONS...... Jesus..... do not bother with a reservation in this place. You make a reservation for 7:45 pm and 8:20 comes around and you still waiting..... they don't take anything into account... they just sit as many people as they can (which make sense its a business) but people who are loyal and keep coming and go through the trouble of making a reservation just waste their time..... my fiancé and I love to come here but I think we might have to drop this place entirely because of their lack of consideration for people who make reservations. Do yourself if you plan to come here clear your night because 90% of it will be spent just waiting..... RESERVATION OR NOT! I am hungry..... read more

Where do I start ? I come to Annapolis 2x a week and somehow never really gave this restaurant a good look until about 2 weeks ago . I was craving steak for my birthday but didn't want to go to the city , too busy. I reserved a table using open table for a party of 6 . Fast forward , May 26th , life happened , so we changed our original 7pm reservations to 8:15 , which later got changed to 9... but we really didn't show up until 9:40-ish , terrible i know i know. The staff were all very nice upon arrival and informed us that our table was being prepared. We had an awesome and I mean AWESOME waiter named Chris . I should mention this was everyones first time here but we'd all been to other high-end steakhouse before. This steakhouse was actually cheap compared to others , but the food was the same great quality if not better. The setting is very nice , of course when we got there the restaurant was pretty empty but the few people who were in there were dressed casual , we were just dressed up for my birthday but the restaurant is great even if there is no occasion at all. We had a outstanding dining experience overall and we were all pleased with our meals , both steak and seafood. 10/10 , would recommend , already want to go back ! PS : The leftovers tasted even better than before as if that was even possible ! read more

I was actually very surprised that I did not like this place even more. The service was very good and the atmosphere is very lovely. However, our steaks, although cooked perfectly to temperature as requested, Were very bland and not very flavorful at all. We came for an early Father's Day Dinner and enjoyed every aspect of our experience. The ambience is lovely, our server Chris was attentive without hovering and the food was DELICIOUS. I'm having an internal argument about whether or not to award the coveted 5th star on my rating of the delightful new Stoney River Steakhouse. Honestly, I can find little fault with this restaurant. We stopped in, not exactly knowing what to expect, thinking it might be a little more in line with a Longhorn or Outback steakhouse. I couldn't have been more mistaken. Stoney River is definitely trying to compete with the heavy hitters like Ruth's Chris or Mortons, while still maintaining a price point just under those venerable locations. Their are only 11 restaurants in the chain, which hails from Tennessee. They are definitely doing things right. We were seated at a plush and comfy booth. We each ordered the house salad, which I would say was the only weak point in the meal. Typical chopped salad, using iceburg lettuce with the homemade salad dressing of your choice. Nothing wrong here, but not worth the $7 we paid for it. My steak, however, was worth every penny of the $32 I paid for it. A great big juicy rib-eye of certified Blank Angus beef, grilled to absolute perfection and served with a generous helping of caramelized onion mashed potatoes. My dining partners in crime had the Sage Roasted Chicken and the Prime Rib. Both were expertly prepared and presented. Portions are quite large and if you were a complete glutton like myself, you could easily make two meals out of one trip here. My favorite offering of the evening are there "Stone Puppies", which serve as their signature bread. Essentially, they are unsweetened poppy donut holes that come with a luscious honey butter. Our server dropped off the first basket, noting that he had included extra because he was certain we would want more. He was correct. Service was impeccable, from start to finish and the decor is simple, elegant and cozy, with a large fireplace, overstuffed sofas and an open kitchen. Perfect for a cold rainy night. So, my only hesitation with that extra star is... well...it just wasn't different enough. It was steakhouse perfection, and there-in lies the problem for me. I need something more, something different, somthing unique. ***4.5*** if I could. If you are looking for that good old steakhouse experience, this is a great place to go. read more
