What an absolute hidden gem!This was our very first visit, and I can honestly say it was one of the best Italian dining experiences I've ever had in a while. The moment we walked through the doors, it felt as though we had been transported to a charming family restaurant in Italy. . The warm, old-school atmosphere, the laughter, the aromas coming from the kitchen, and the genuine hospitality made us feel like we were guests in someone's home rather than customers in a restaurant. The food...where do I even begin? Every bite was a reminder of what authentic Italian cooking should be. The tortellini was highly recommended, and I completely understand why. It was delicate, rich, and so incredibly tender that it practically melted in my mouth. . The sauce was velvety, perfectly balanced, and packed with flavor without overpowering the pasta. It was comfort food elevated to perfection.Then came the branzino..yummy! Perfectly crisp on the outside, buttery and flaky on the inside, cooked so flawlessly it almost dissolved with each bite. Every forkful was fresh, light, and bursting with incredible flavor. It didn't need anything extra because it was prepared with such care that the quality of the fish spoke for itself.And just when I thought the meal couldn't get any better, we shared the tiramisu. It was heavenly--light, creamy, perfectly balanced with espresso and cocoa, and not overly sweet\. The kind of dessert you savor slowly because you don't want it to end. The people made this experience even more memorable. Alfonso was absolutely divine and made us feel so welcome. We also had the pleasure of meeting his brothers, Alonzo and Arturo, who were just as warm and genuine. Manager Adam was incredibly kind, and to top it all off, we met the owner, who was in the kitchen personally creating these magical dishes. Seeing the owner with his sleeves rolled up, cooking with such passion, tells you everything you need to know about why the food is so exceptional. In a world where so many restaurants feel rushed and impersonal, this place is something truly special. It's filled with heart, tradition, incredible people, and unforgettable food. I appreciate little restaurants like this one. Dimly lit for an intimate ambiance, but also has an outer space to eat outside. The staff is extremely nice and easy to converse with. They like to entertain their guests which I appreciate. They do have a small parking lot, but there is ample street parking available!   Fritto Misto (3/5) Solid starter in my opinion! Compared to other calamari starters, they serve theirs with shrimp! Generous breading for the shrimp too. I'm the type of person that enjoys their calamari on the crispier side. Slightly softer breading than usual for their calamari, but still good overall. They broiled a lemon too to top the dish off, which I thought added a nice touch for taste.   Schiacciata Di Pollo (4/5) An excellent choice! They pound the chicken really thin and top it off with arugula, basil, and garlic. I like how the dish is a pretty large portion, but it also light at the same time. Refreshing and extremely healthy; i love how the components of the dish really compliment each other.   Pear Tart (2/5) I was extremely excited for this dessert because pear is one of my favorite fruits, but it came a bit flat for me. There wasn't enough pear flavor in the dish (despite it being in the dish) and I felt like the crust overpowered the whole dessert. And the crust was a bit thick for my taste, which made me a bit disappointed in terms of the overall profile of the dish.   Key Lime Cheesecake (4/5) Highly recommend this dessert! It has just the right amount of tart and sweetness to it and provided a great balance. Extremely refreshing and very light. read more

Wonderful little hole in the wall Italian restaurant! Really cozy interior with a full bar and piano tucked away in a corner. Really friendly service! Small parking lot in the back of the restaurant. I ordered the spaghetti and Italian sausage which came with cherry tomatoes and broccolini. Really tasty and what I appreciate was that they didn't skimp on portions like a lot of new trendy Italian restaurants tend to do. We also got some type of toasted baguette slices with tomatoes on top for free which was DELICIOUS. I ordered a cosmopolitan from the bar which was yummy as well. Party of 5- a fabulous meal. Four of us had lamb chops and the other had eggplant parm with pasta. We appreciated the complimentary bruschetta and rolls with butter. The Malbec wine was excellent. Service was fantastic- our server was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the piano music. Free surface lot parking on both sides of the restaurant. I've been an irregular at Stoney Point for quite a few years now. Bartender Kelly is like a best friend, the staff feels like family, and the patrons are like friendly neighbors. I always have a great time whether I'm having dinner or just a drink. Live piano music Thursday thru Sunday enlivens the atmosphere. The food is always excellent. While I'm happy to have the Beef Carpaccio, Cioppino, Lamb Chops, or a pasta dish any time, I always find out the specials and often go with one of those. The latest was a Seafood Risotto which was possibly the best risotto I've ever had. Huge chunks of salmon, plenty of mussels and clams, large shrimp, scallops, calamari, all perfectly tender. Stoney Point never disappoints so I will continue toirregularly go there. read more

I decided to avoid watching any sad news on television today. Just listen to some music today. It was a unique date that Mr. B took me on during courtship, for those who are unaware of John Gary. A man was playing a violin on the roof of Stoney Point Bar & Grill as we were leaving our car valet. It was a moment of enchantment in my life that I will never forget. I had never heard of John Gary before, and this exquisite voice left me speechless. Even now, when I hear it, it still brings floods of tears from the memorable moment. Came here for New Years Eve and had a great time. Cozy little restaurant I've driven by a hundred time and finally decided to give it a try. So happy we did. Very much an old-world ambiance with a live pianist which made it very festive. Service was impeccable!! The waiters are knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. Excellent menu with yummy pasta dishes as well as steaks, great lamb chops and fish. We had the lasagna, clam spaghetti and the chicken scallopine. All were well-made and delicious!! What an adorable date spot! The food was excellent but what truly stood out was the service. You really don't find this type of fine dining these days. We've had the same gentleman each time & he's what I'd call a "professional server" like you USED to get at upscale steak houses. The prices are much better than you'd expect for this level of quality. I had the osso bucco which was as good as it gets. My mom had the pasta a la vongole (?) & my husband had the eggplant parm the 1st time we went, this time he tried the penne Arabiata. I even took pics bc the presentation was so beautiful. This has been a family favorite for decades. Family-owned and operated. Everything feels homemade and they're very consistent in quality. Came for a family member's birthday recently as-is tradition and it was delicious and wonderful as always. I don't think their desserts are homemade but still fairly good. It's the actual food you go for! I love the overall feel and ambience of the place. The service is not only great but friendly, warm and fully on top of everything. I absolutely love the complimentary bruschetta that is brought to the table once you are seated. The tomatoes are fresh, and it contains the right amount of garlic. It's addicting. The Frito Misto is one of my favorite appetizers. It consists of big, thick batter fried shrimp and tender rings of calamari served with basil aioli and marinara, both of which were molto bene. This evening I tried the Spaghetti Vongole - fresh Manila clams sautéed with a white wine & garlic sauce. I asked if they could make it spicy. The pasta was al dente, the clams were fresh & juicy, and the sauce was delizioso with a hint of spicy. Mom had the Spaghetti & Italian Sausage with broccoletti & cherry tomatoes. She loved it and also loved her complimentary birthday tiramisu. Bravissimo to everyone at Stoney Point. Our dining experience was fantastico! Excellent food! I love this restaurant! I love everything about it! When I visit my mother, this is where I asked to go. The food is delicious, the service is superb, and it's very cozy. We'll plan another visit to California in September and I will plan a visit here again as well. This last visit, I had the eggplant Parmesan. Delicious! Another one of my favorites is the bruschetta. This time I had the Dungeness crabcakes however the next time I will have the French onion soup and Caesar salad with my entrée. read more
