I love coming here, especially with larger groups of people. It is easy to order individually but all sit and enjoy your meal together. Lots of things to split as well. The tritip is such a good deal and tastes so good. The breadsticks are amazing. My only wish is that they had Coke instead of Pepsi but otherwise, it is awesome! read more

I really liked Stonefire Grill. I was taking my mom out for her birthday and she couldn't decide so we randomly picked Stonefire. The portions are large and the food is great. There is a pretty good size outdoor patio, as well. You order at the register. Once we got there a huge line formed and they immediately opened another register. I will go back again. Came here for Dinner with the family and we ordered a decent amount of food, they were quick! It took longer for us to find a table that would fit all of us than to get our food, ribs were really dry, pizza was ok, chicken was ok. Not very impressed with the food, service was ok. Used their catering for my twins' 1st birthday and I'm so glad we made that decision! Prior to the party, we were able to attend a tasting which left us very excited (and full) for our party! Day of, staff arrived on time and set up food exactly within the hour prep time. They were friendly and professional with us and our guests. We received many compliments about the food and presentation. Prior to leaving, they put the leftovers together and cleared some plates. I would've given all 5 stars, but once they left, they were unable to leave the serving spoons/forks with the food. I would've brought some myself, but I didn't know that was going to be the case. Iv'e been eating at Stonefire since it opened and have never been disappointed. I was throwing a business party for about 100 people and decided to have them do the food catering. The restaurant manager told me to call the catering phone number which concerned me a little because sometimes you can't explain exactly what you want over the phone especially when dealing with food. We talked to the catering dep't three times and each time was great. All of the people were very knowledgeable about their food and services and we felt the order was what we wanted. On the day of the party three lovely young ladies showed up on time. They set up a very nice presentation and served on time. Everything looked nice, smelled and tasted great. We got plenty of compliments on the food. One of the girls helped serve the cake after dinner which was a big help. They cleaned up and were off on time and it never looked liked they were there. My hat is off to Stonefire Grill for a job well done and we never had to lift a finger. read more

My family and I have been to Stonefire Grill in the past and have loved it, without any problems. However, today my family and I went into Stonefire and got food to go. We ordered a family meal consisting of bread sticks, half bbq chicken, Caesar salad and half "bbq" tri-tip for $45. We kindly asked the lady at the register if we would be able to get some extra bbq sauce as we weren't given any. She quickly replied and said that the tri-tip already has "bbq" sauce on top of the tri-tip. Although, as seen in the picture there is no bbq sauce. So we kindly asked the lady again about getting a couple extra containers of bbq sauce. She rudely told us that she would have to charge us extra for every container of bbq sauce. We've never remembered being charged extra for bbq sauce, and believe the person tried to unnecessarily charge us for extra bbq sauce. Also, we wanted our tri-tip cooked medium, but it came out to be so well-done that it was tough and hard to eat. Yet again, we've always gone to stonefire and have never had a problem with the service, but today really raised some alerting concerns. read more

It was my first time dining in at stonefire today. I went in with a couple of friends. I usually do takeout but we all decided to come in today. All the workers were very nice and friendly which was great! People at register were very helpful as well! I decided to order the BBQ chopped salad w/tri-tip and it was excellent! I usually just stick with the south of the border but today I wanted to order something different. We got our food and everything was great! Nancy, our server was very friendly and sweet! I'm no certified BBQ judge but I have attended to two BBQ competitions this year (I recommend going to Bakersfield's Biggest Baddest BBQ Competition for a BBQ eye opening nirvana experience). My scores will be based on Appearance, Tenderness, and Taste. 5 for Appearance: I ordered "Taste of Stonefire" which is a limited time dine in special that consists of Tri-tip, chicken breast, baby back ribs, a side of your choice and 2 bread sticks, all for $10.00! All the food comes on a round circular metal plate garnished with cooked green onions. I'm glad they didn't serve the food on a trash can lid like at Robin's Woodfire BBQ which is 30 feet down the street from Stonefire Grill. The lemon garlic chicken had little chunks of roasted garlic. The bread sticks had a noticeable skin layer coating parmesan-pesto. 4 for Tenderness: Despite being force to order my Tri-tip medium instead of medium rare, the Tri-tip and chicken were really tender. The ribs came off the bone but didn't fall off the bone. 3 for Taste: The taste would have been a 4 but the temperature of the food wasn't hot. Maybe because it was a cold day and the metal plate might have absorbed the heat. To make up for the hotless food, I had to ask the waiter for Tabasco. The BBQ sauce was sweet and good. The cowboy chili tasted like chili out of the can. There was no sweetness to the cowboy beans. The coleslaw had a big taste of vinegar. Only the bread sticks made a big impression. It's the best bread sticks I've ever had. In the end, I would definitely come back for the $10 special and bread sticks. Hopefully the food will be hot this time. After talking to a couple of my friends, they had the same hotless experience. Danielle - I've read that you only use heat lamps for the fresh baked bread sticks but maybe you should consider using it on the metal plates. Also, you should have the BBQ sauce dispenser spit out temperature hot BBQ sauce. read more

Big disappointment on our first visit. Caesar salads were bland, but most importantly, I ordered the chicken breast and tri-tip, which came out a few minutes after the pizza we also ordered. It was just stone cold when it arrived with a lump of cold garlic butter on top of the tri-tip. The flavor was very bland as well. Stonefire is one of our go-to spots - I like the pleasant interior and the feeling that you're in a decent restaurant, despite having ordered at a counter. I have a special needs kid on a highly restrictive diet, and the fact that I can get him a clean piece of chicken is a major plus for us. My first time with a friend for a quiet catch-up dinner. Biggest thing is, I really REALLY hate their concept. I usually avoid all chains but this one did look quiet and inviting from the street. But it's more like it can't decide whether to be a takeout counter or a nice date-night restaurant. We stood in the vicinity of the "hostess station" for five minutes wondering what the holdup was before anyone asked us if we had been helped yet, then explained that you have to order before you sit and they'll bring it to you. How difficult is one more step and ordering at the table once I've had a glass of wine and a chance to peruse the menu? The soda fountain and condiment area looks really tacky against all this vast amount of mood-lit seating and rustic patio space. Where are the eat-in customers? No wonder it's mostly empty. It's more like an attractively decorated Fuddrucker's. That said, I felt pressured to choose my meal quickly with the wafting scent of a cake stand full of brownies next me, each one as big as a toddler's head. I was tempted to skip to dessert but instead ordered the Grilled Vegetable salad with Tri Tip and a glass of Pinot Noir. The pour was very generous, which made me happy. The salad was sublime. I hate bloody half-cooked meat and asked that the Tri Tip be from the well done end, accepting that it could be dry. It was juicy and succulent and delicious and only a little pink in the middle: perfect. Overall, it's not a place you'd want to bring guests, but it could become my new favorite takeout place. The wait staff was very friendly, almost chipper. The prices seemed fair. I think I'm going over tonight for some more of that Tri Tip. read more

I'm so glad I stumbled on this! I was looking for something that would fit with a casual place were my friends and I could relax and eat good as well as celebrate my b-day with my girlfriend. I've been also looking for a good BBQ place and was hoping this could bit the 'two birds with one stone' hope. You can request for a table and they'll get it set up if they don't have one, you go up to the cashier, order, pay, and get your order number. Sit at a table, or a set table, and stick your order number card in the holder. They bring the food out to you. If you have several couples, or orders, they tell you what number they're bringing out. They Tri Tip was moist and favorful. Although, I do prefer the horseradish off to the side and extra Au Jus, it came out how I would think steaks/meats come out. The BBQ short ribs were tender and tasty. I ask a waiter for sauce and he got it for me (I was walking out and saw I could've gotten it myself) but he never made me feel bad for asking. I was very happy at the service, even though they were pulled away at times and I had to get up and hunt someone down. LOL. Parking lot was full on Saturday night, but it didn't take too lone to find one. We waited about 20-30 mins with a party of 6 (they would tell you when it was OK to pop into the line to order). Special Deal: The cashier mentioned there's a deal for 2 that worked out as a good deal. I'm not sure the exact name. I would just ask for the full slab dinner for 2 deal. U get a full slab of BBQ short ribs, 2 salads, and a 4pc of garlic bread sticks (so good btw) for 3-4 dollars more than the price of just a full slab of ribs @19.99). Can't recall the exact price as I paid for a couple of other orders. I craving as I'm writing this... Maybe I should order for Take Out now. LOL read more

Really impressed me for the type of restaurant it is! Kind of reminded me of Pitfire - you go in, order your food, find your own table, and then they bring the food over to you. The menu is pretty extensive. They have pasta, salads, and entrees (salmon, chicken, tri-tip, etc.). We ordered a Stonefire Salad, Caesar Salad, Combo Pizza, and breadsticks. The salads were probably the best part of the meal! The petite is large enough to actually feed 2 (the plate was about 12 in. in diameter), and the medium probably a family a 4.
