OOBER DELICIOUSNESS! That was the first thing that came out of my mouth after I ate here....NO...Seriously. Could it have been because I just paid $19.99 for a dinner for a family of 4.5? Or could it have been that the TRI-TIP was cooked exactly how I ordered it? Or could it just possibly be the whole entire experience? All rhetorical, but yet, the answer is in the proof of satisfaction in my body. The wait staff was very attentive for a sit-down/fast food type of joint. Just think along the lines of Pat and Oscars, yes, with just as good breadsticks, but with a more elaborate menu. We went with a family package that included tri tip, salad, and pizza. Everything tasted so fresh! I highly enjoyed myself here and so did my entire family. For the affordable prices and the quality you get, it is definitely worth every penny. You cannot go wrong with Stonefire coz I didn't. read more

I had a great experience at this location thanks to Andrew! I wanted pasta with meat and he pretty much laid out all my options and also helped me order the most inexpensive way. Thanks so much Andrew! the food was amazing, had to go back and get more breadsticks :) read more

I had never eaten at or heard of a Stonefire Grill before last Saturday night, and I found the experience to be, well, ok. If you have never eaten at a Stonefire Grill before, this is how it works: you go to the counter and place your order and pay first, and then go get yourself a drink out of the soda fountain, sit down with your number on the table and wait for the server to bring you your food. Now, I have experienced this program plenty of times at Mexican places with burritos for $4.99 and burger places where you'd be lucky to be able to break a $20 because prices are so low. But it is a bit disconcerting at a nicely appointed, well-lit BBQ restaurant you are having dinner at. I would have preferred the standard waiter/waitress approach. But I guess the money they save on paying a wait staff they pass on to the consumer, because prices were on the low side for a BBQ dinner place in Orange County. And the food was pretty good, I had tri-tip and ribs combo platter, and I enjoyed it well enough. It certainly was not the best BBQ I've ever had, but nothing to offend either. If you're on a bit of a budget and you would like a decent BBQ dinner out, here is your spot. But neither the food nor the experience will be quite top notch. read more

This place is basically like a Corner Bakery or a Pat & Oscar's, but have the advantage of a pretty solid tri tip and really good breadsticks. Their stimulus package, which easily fed 4 adults for about $9 each (including a drink!) for the tri tip option, makes this a fantastic value and therefore earns 4 stars from me. The food was decent, service was great, and it's hard to beat the price for the amount of food we got! read more

I come here frequently for family meals, I love the consistency of this particular location. I have visited two other locations a couple of times and would drive a little more to come to this one for their consistency. We usually get the ribs and barbecue trip tip, is always cook to perfection. The sauce is always light on the meat and you can get more on the side which I love so everyone in the family can add it to their taste. The meat falls apart on the ribs, makes easy to feed the kids. One of my sons always gets the salmon, delicious but a small portion, I think out of everything they serve this is the only protein that's a small portion. The garlic chicken breast is delicious, tons of garlic, most and super yummy lemon flavor. The salads are always great for sharing and always taste fresh. The Mac and cheese is a little thick and I wish it was a little softer but my kids love it. The service is always friendly here too. read more

It's my first time at Stonefire Grill and I don't know where to start. When we first walked into the restaurant on a weekday for lunch, we beelined to the back where we saw our party eating already. They then informed us we had to go back to the front and give our order there, and then taking a seat. As we make our way back to the crowded front, it's a bit chaotic with a random line trying to form in this cramped space. Not wanting something too heavy as I had to fit into my bridesmaid dress the next day, I chose a Small South of the Border Salad with Trip Tip - $7.99. ("Choice of grilled chicken or tri tip with mixed greens, corn, red pepper, avocado, red onion, tomato, red cabbage and pepitas, tossed with tortillas and chili lime vinaigrette and topped with feta cheese.") They offer three sizes for their salads - Small, which serves 1-2, Medium which serves 2-3, and Large which serves 4-5. After paying and getting your number placard, you look for seating. On the way, you fill your own drink at the soda fountain station and help yourself to utensils and condiments. It's rather cafeteria style here. It wasn't too long for my salad to arrive, and can I say...it definitely would easily feed at least two people. You would have to be starving to even think of finishing off one small salad by yourself. My salad was pretty tasty too, the pepitas added a nice bonus and I tried taking home the leftovers. (The salad tastes horrific a couple of hours later, due to the sogginess probably.) One of my other dining companions wasn't so lucky with her order. She also had a salad, but waited for at least thirty minutes for hers to arrive. By that time, I was finished with my meal and we had inquired about her order to the waiter already. He personally went back and checked on it, but in the end, said they lost it and had to make it again. (I think they should have comped her for her meal at that point.) Everyone else was pretty pleased with their orders as well, finishing up every last bit if they good. Stonefire Grill also serves up Pizza, Pasta, Sandwiches, a la carte orders of Chicken, Trip Tip Roast, Baby Back Ribs, and Salmon. They are really big into family-style meals and sharing, so they have Crowd Pleasers for parties of 6 or more, and Family Meals for parties of 4 or more. They definitely serve hearty portions the American way that are meant for sharing. And for the price you pay, I think you can get a pretty good bang for your buck. The problem is finding room for your large party during the lunch or dinner rush. I am giving this place a solid 3.5 stars. The long wait for my one friend wasn't so nice, but the amount of food for the price is pretty darn good. And the food tastes good too. I'd be curious to go back with a large party and try out their other dishes. read more

This place is pretty good. Especially the BREADSTICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! eat them while they're still fresh!!!!!!! I was craving some BBQ and thinking of this tri-tip sandwhich that I got near Cal Poly SLO. So my girlfriend told me about this place and told me that they have tri tip. I couldn't resist my urge and had to try it. We got the stimulus package deal. It came with a pizza, tri-tip, salad and BREADSTICKS! for about $23. WHAT A DEAL! It was alot of food and it was delicious. The tri-tip is good. Pizza was aite and the BREADSTICKS! They were the best I ever had. They were soft, warm, chewy, cheesy, buttery and there were sooo many to go around! read more

I am torn between a three and four star rating for Stonefire Grill. I decided to go up to a four because it appeared the employees were fairly happy. That actually means something to me in this age of overinflated CEO salaries and below poverty wages for the average service worker. I hope Stonefire Grill pays their staff something more than minimum wage. We came here for lunch on Memorial Day. We arrived right at noon. There were not many people in the restaurant. However, it did fill up as the lunch hour went on. We were greeted by two cashiers who seemed friendly. I saw the lunch special of 4oz. tri tip and petit chicken breast with a salad or side for $7.99. Sounded good to me. I told my wife to order it because I was carrying a sleepy three-year old to the table. My wife ordered herself a quinoa salad and the boys each got pasta. Our lunch partners had a salad and pizza. The food came fairly quickly. My wife ordered me a greek salad for my side. I love her for that because I am a greek salad fiend. It was pretty good with romaine, and chopped olive, feta, and onion. The dressing had a fair amount of oregano. It was pretty good. My tri tip and chicken lunch was actually very good. Both meats were well cooked. The tri tip came with a dollop of herb butter. There was about 4oz of both meats, so it was a pretty filling lunch. I did not try the breadstick because I did not want the carbs. My wife was less impressed with her salad. She said the dressing was too much. The boys liked the pasta. Stonefire Grill evidently understands something very important about kids. Kids DO NOT have sophisticated palates. Kids are very happy with plain pasta. Ketchup is better than most pasta sauces. My boys both mowed through the plain pasta. So, not only were the boys happy, they were quiet for a few minutes, which made the adults happy. For about $.50 worth of ingredients, Stonefire Grill made some happy customers. Our lunch partners seemed to enjoy their food. The staff came by several times to check on us even though this is a counter order place. Our bill came to about $35.00 with drinks. Stonefire Grill is not a cheap eats place. However, I think it is a decent value for the area. We will come back when we are in the area. P.S. Special thanks to Sydney S. for his review. Probably would not have come here if I had not seen his four star review. read more

In response to Business Manager Justin L. of STONEFIRE Grill's 12/29/2014 Comment on my one star review. My review of your restaurant was not out of meanness. Yes, I suppose a review is personal opinion but of course this is coming from someone who still believes in the philosophy that "the customer is always right." It's not misinformation if it is my point of view which is what reviews normally tend to be. It amazes me that you would even take the time to refute what I said, especially considering that most of your restaurant's reviews are favorable. I would never ask for my money back for something that I consumed. As stated before, I was really hungry and when one is hungry, they will eat almost anything. Therefore, the food wasn't so bad that it wasn't edible. However, I can't say the same for my wife because she barley ate any of her chicken and only had one bite of the potatoes. Maybe the potatoes really are made from scratch, but they did taste powdered. I have not ordered mystery meat in the past, unless it was coming from your grill. Lucille's Smokehouse, Wood Ranch BBQ and Bad to the Bone BBQ all serve quality baby back ribs that taste great. I can't say the same for Stonefire Grill. There was just something synthetic about the meat. Thanks for the head's up about the McRib but I don't recall saying that I liked the sandwich, but instead compared your ribs to it. I didn't write it to be humorous, I wrote it, because that's what Stonefire Grill's ribs tasted like to me. You are being awfully defensive and I don't understand why. Your demeanor doesn't appear to make a whole lot of common sense to me. As the Business Manager of Stonefire Grill, you're not scoring a whole lot of points in the PR department right not. A simple sorry that I didn't enjoy the meal would have been sufficient. Instead, you chose to be condescending. You're looking down on me because I didn't enjoy my meal. One would think that you would be trying to win people's business instead of patronizing them. Perhaps Stonefire Grill could resend you to management training because apparently, you didn't learn anything about customer service. read more

First, great price for great portion. A small sized pasta is about 7 bucks and can feed at least 2 people. A small Caesar salad is around the same price but please don't order more than one for your whole table. I made this mistake and ended up taking home almost two to-go box full of salad. The pasta could be better, it's more commercial than home-style. However, the carrot cake is literally to-die-for. I need this recipe lol. Anyways, great price, large portions, great place to go for a quick lunch or a casual drop in. read more

Came here for Irvine Restaurant week. Got the stimulus package for CHEAP. There are 3 options: Ribs, Whole chicken + Pizza, or Tri tip each comes with 8 breadsticks and salad. We decided on the whole chicken option for 2 reasons. 1. Def more bang for your buck, the pizza is basically Free! 2. I like me some garlic chicken. A crap load of good food for 2 people and our orders were brought out really quick. The chicken wasn't the best of quality, the meat was a little mushy for my taste but for this price, I'll take it. For the pizza, we ordered sausage and mushroom. The pizza was about a 10 incher thin crust pizza with nicely brownded cruncy edges. The salad we got was the cartwheel. It has nice bits of beets, chick peas, olives, and tortilla for crunch. Get the garlic cesar dressing, I use that as a dip for everything. Garlic bread + garlic ceasar dressing=bomb digity. So good but I can guarantee you your breath would be rank afterwards. read more

Stonefire Grill - Stimulus package....whole chicken, pizza, salad and breadstick - American Near Me - Irvine, California

I went to Stonefire Grill for dinner this evening. Was soooo not impressed! Soon after our salads were brought to our table, our main dishes were brought as well. The meat was tepid at that point, so I asked for mine to be heated and, of course, when it was brought back it was no longer medium, but rather well done. The chicken tasted as flavorless as tofu. To top my evening off the food gave me quite a lot of gas. I do not plan on ever going back. At least I didn't get food poisoning like the last time I ate at Urban Plates. Save your money for a better real restaurant where your food is prepared for you and comes piping hot rather than building up on bacteria load. read more

Good food, great taste, and inexpensive! Stimulus Package - off the menu, but probably the best decision you will ever make! Great deal! Around 25$ for a lb of melt-in-your-mouth tri-tip, eight bread sticks, a two topping pizza (6 slices), and salad of your choice. I came with my roommates --two other girls: came hungry, left happy. The was just the right amount of food. I'll definitely be back for more! Lost a star for service. It took forever for the bread sticks to come out. We had to ask a waiter towards the middle of our meal for them and at that time they brought out 4 saying they'll bring out the other 4 in a few minutes. A few minutes took until the end of our meal, and we only got it because my roommate decided to bother the server about it again. read more

I was initially not really stoked to go eat at this place just because it looked so plain on the outside (and the fact that some of the items on the menu had some crazy high prices). However, this all turned around when the hostess told us of their special: one pizza, plate of tri-tip, salad, and breadsticks for the amazing price of only $26! Unheard of! Because the guys were just excited to be eating meat, they didn't really care what sauces and pizza to get so they left that to me. Because I'm a really big BBQ sauce fan, I got the BBQ chicken pizza, half BBQ and horseradish sauce tri-tip, and the Caesar salad. I was really surprised that we could choose any pizza and salad off the regular menu because a lot of restaurants have restrictions on their specials. We sat down and the food soon came flooding in. The salad was pretty good (what can I say? All Caesar salad tastes about the same), the pizza was amazing, the BBQ tri-tip was delicious and the heaping basket of garlic breadsticks that came with the order were also really good! I must admit though, the horseradish sauce is an acquired taste because I wasn't a big fan of it. Overall, all that food fed two big guys and me to the point of explosion... and we still had food left over! And all for $7 each! The special is probably gone by now but it allowed for an amazing first experience :) read more

Been here a few times over the years, think a tad fancier Pat and Oscars like others have said where you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Along with their usual, I've noticed they've added a few new salads! These include things with kale, I got their Healthy Hybrid with quinoa, chickpeas, red onion, some oher crunchy veggies with dijon vinaigrette. I also added some arugula, deelish! Everything was fresh, crunchy, and it was perfectly dressed! Also their ribs are not bad, good crust! Stonefire is fantastic for salads, oh and don't forget the moist carrot cake for dessert. read more

Think Pat & Oscar's but a shade fancier - Stonefire Grill was actually a lot better than I thought it would be. =) After my brother's graduation in Irvine, we decided to go out to dinner but everyone in my family tends to have different taste in food. My parents don't like to be too crazy or adventurous and we had two kids as well so the food had to be kid-approved. We came here thinking the kids can have pizza and we can have barbecue - turned out to be a great option and everyone enjoyed the food. There was a total of 7 of us for dinner so we opted for "Stonefire's Favorite Crowd Pleaser" meal that came with one whole chicken, a tri-tip roast and a large pizza, a large salad and 18 breadsticks for $60.00. We added garlic mashed potatoes, grilled veggies, corn, quinoa and drinks - the final amount was about $95 with all the extras which I think is decent since it fed all seven of us and we had plenty of leftovers to take home as well. For the chicken, we got have BBQ and the other half lemon garlic. I'm usually a lemon garlic sort of person BUT the BBQ sauce here is very good and I think that type of chicken was actually better. You can self-serve more BBQ sauce (which is what my sister did). The chicken was very tender and fell apart easily. The tri-tip roast was excellent! We got the black pepper type (although the BBQ would have been good too) - the only thing I did not like was the blue cheese on top but we scraped it off and it was still tasty. The meat was tender and juicy. As for the pizza, we kept it plain and simple with just cheese for the kids - they loved it. These kids are quite picky about food but they each ate multiple slices of pieces (which is unheard of) - the sauce was slightly sweet and the crust was thin. The salad was really big - we couldn't eat it all & the breadsticks were plentiful as well. They have a garlicky coating to them & are good but there was just too much food on the table for us to finish them. Our favorite side was the garlic mashed potatoes - they are done really well here with good size pieces of roasted garlic. =) I could have eaten the whole bowl myself. The corn & veggies were OK and the quinoa was cold (I thought it was served hot). At this restaurant, you place your order and they give you a number to put on your table to deliver the food to your table. The drinks and condiments...and even the to-go containers are self-serve. The decor is pretty nice and it was pretty crowded on a Friday evening. A lot of families with young children were here - I guess it's one of the decent places with good foods for adults and kids alike. I would definitely come again - I recommend tri-tip, BBQ sauce and garlic mash. =) read more

OKAY SOoooo.... I am a huge fan of this place cuz the food is delicious, BUT there was this major issue lately with the catering. Long story short, I placed an order for a banquet that was going down on a Friday. I showed up to pick up the order (roughly in the amount of $300) and I was told they had no trace of the order. like. for real. I was severely pissed, but I just asked them to keep checking... Finally, someone comes up to me and takes the order from my copy of the receipt and they rush to get it done asap. I took a little walk to cool my head, cuz I was definitely going to be late for the banquet with the food. When I got back, they told me that they figured it out. they had written the order down for Sunday instead of Friday :( but what could I do? WHAT COULD I DO?!???!?!? so I had to wait some more and finally the food came out. They helped me place the order in my car and threw in some carrot cakes, which was nice cuz I effing love their carrot cake. But alas, I was still late with the food. PLEASE NEVER DO THIS TO ME AGAIN. I mean, I like you guys, but if this happens again I will stop catering from you in a heartbeat. In the past, we ran out of dressing or sauce or whatever cuz we weren't given enough, BUT to lose my order before a huge event borders on unforgivable. half star for how well you guys pulled through in a pinch. and another half star for the carrot cakes (seriously. so. good.) *****for the record, your dine in service is legit. this is just in reference to the catering. read more

Let me first preface this review by saying my half lemon garlic chicken was very good in every way and my cesar salad was just as tasty. It was the service that was borderline UNACCEPTABLE! To my surprise, I arrived at the restaurant to see the line to the restaurant was out the door and almost to the parking lot. You would think easy...open up more registers to help alleviate the line. I think I counted 6-7 registers and 1 was open in each of the "To Go" & "Dining In" register areas. My party continued to observe that the restaurant was half empty and the line was out the door. The restaurant was extremely short handed. We further saw that the manager in plain professional cloths started to help serve the guests a half an hour into our 45 minute wait in line to order. And they still did not open another register. We were even fortunate to chit chat with the manager and he was aloof about the busy-ness of the restaurant. Four stars for the tasty food. A big fat ZERO for the service. It averages to two stars for last night's experience at the Stonefire Grill. I will probably return, but only when they are not that busy! My rating would of been higher if the manager would of been more forthcoming of the truth that they were short handed yesterday during the dinner rush. Also note the reason why I came here was for a get together of friends....otherwise i would of left. No one wants to stand in line for 45 min. read more

The breadsticks were the best part of my meal. Man those were so good and flavorful, and cheesy! They overcooked my tri tip. Ugh. I asked for medium and instead got extremely well done. Greek salad was good, but too much lettuce, not enough anything else. Greek salad is suppose to have more of the veges + feta cheese, not lettuce. read more

Yes its a little pricey, but ohmygoodness the food here is pretty darn amazing. Definitely a place to go for a good quality meal. My friends and I came for dinner after shopping at Target and we ordered the stimulus package, which includes a choice of meat, a salad, breadsticks, and pizza. We opted for the tri tip steak (the Mesquite BBQ is so good!) which was super tender and delicious, and we took the waitress's recommendation to upgrade our salad to get Stonefire's BBQ Chopped (an upgrade costs a little bit more) and it was incredible - definitely worth it to upgrade in my opinion. For pizza we got Stonefire's Favorite and Italian Sausage pizza (1 pizza but split half/half) and mmm I'm a huge fan of avocado and pesto so I loved Stonefire's Favorite but my friends...eh not so much. I was never a big fan of Italian sausage so it was more for my friends - Italian sausage was definitely good pizza but I found it to be more on the salty side. The package also came with 8 breadsticks which were pretty delicious as well. Honestly when the food first started coming out we were all a little disappointed by how small the portions appeared, but after eating it we realized WOW this is a lot more food than it looks. We were a party of 3 (2 girls and a guy, all starving college students - seriously we were so hungry when we got there) and we ended up not being able to finish everything! We had to box up a little bit of everything actually so don't be surprised by the appearance of the food. Especially the salad. The bowl it comes in looks so tiny but there was a lot of salad.... Good atmosphere. Cozy and played a lot of old songs. Waitstaff were friendly. And I just wanted to reiterate that the food is AMAZING. Especially the tri tip. I wouldn't mind eating their tri tip for the rest of my life :) Overall 4.5 stars. read more

This was my first time here, and I have to say that it was just okay. I was contemplating between a salad or pasta, but I decided to go for the pasta in the end. Went with the petite tomesto (the waitress said this is one of their best), and the boyfriend went for the tritip. The food doesn't come out all at once, which I thought was weird. My group wanted to wait until my pasta came out to eat, but then their food would have been cold, so I encouraged them to start eating. My dish came out last out of the 4 of us who went, which is interesting, because pasta usually is pretty quick to make, no? The boyfriend's tri tip was pretty good. There were two different sides of tri tip for some reason (two different cuts perhaps?). One side was DEFINITELY much better than the other side...which I believe we attributed to the meat on the other side being cooked too long (he ordered medium rare...the tri tip came out medium to almost well done). Dipped those pieces in BBQ sauce, and it turned out okay. Garlic mash was pretty good too. The tomesto was decent, but not much to speak of (which is worrisome considering it came recommended). I preferred the pesto to the red sauce, but after a while the pesto also overpowered my taste buds. I honestly would forego the pasta in favor of something else if we ever came back. Definitely good sized portions for the price though! read more

3.5 stars. I ordered or shared the chopped salad and the chicken caesar salad for lunch. The chopped salad was uneventful. Fairly bland and really nothing to it. The chicken caesar salad however was pretty good. Crisp salad, parmesan and the dressing had a good tangy zing to it with just a hint of anchovy flavor. This place sort of reminded me of a TGI Fridays as far as the feel. Nothing really fancy with a feel of trying to feed as many people as possible at once. I have heard that the BBQ here can be good. I am very dubious about BBQ in OC as the majority of my OC BBQ experiences have been uneventful. read more

Had to cater an event for 40 at work. Never been to Stonefire, but found their website. Prices were excellent for the amount and variety of food. Ordered bbq chicken, garlic tri tip, mac & cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, greek salad, pinwheel salad and breadsticks. The two salads are probably very different in the restaurant, where they can properly present them, but catered, they seemed too alike. They were good, though. In fact, all the food was better than average. I think their mac & cheese blows away most restaurants'. Got so many compliments on the catering choice. Sure, I'll take credit! read more

Have not been here since high school but it doesn't surprise me to see this place as busy as ever! They make great barbecue, amazing breadsticks, and beautiful salads and pastas. Yelp says it best: Yay! I'm a fan! We pre-ordered food for take-out. I'd recommend doing this since Stonefire Grill was really crowded at 6:45pm when we went to pick up our food. I ordered the BBQ Salad -- comes with BBQ Chicken, Avocado, Blue Cheese, Eggs, Tomatoes and Lettuce. Pretty basic, but pretty good! You can pick the size you want from Petite to Large. I got the Small size, and it was big enough for two meals. My salad was really good and I enjoyed it. Two other people in my party ordered salads and they also liked theirs. My boyfriend ordered the Tri Tip and he liked his meal. My only grip with meals like the Tri Tip, is that online it says it only comes with a side salad and a breadstick, but we later found out you can also get Mashed Potatoes. We wish we had know that when we placed the order since my boyfriend would have rather have had the Mashed Potatoes. But oh well. Service was great when we picked up our food -- the girl helping us was so friendly and helpful. I like that! I'd come here again if I'm in the area since it was pretty good (and really close to my boyfriend's parents place!). Cheers! read more

Next to pizza, BBQ is the best thing for Monday Night Football. I always overlook this place whenever I am shopping at Target, but FI and I wanted to try out their Value Family Meal which consisted of a whole tri tip roast (we choose BBQ flavor of course), choice of salad (garden, Caesar, Greek or cartwheel), a medium order of garlic mashed potatoes and 8 breadsticks. Guess how much that feast costs? A measly $24.99! I would give 3 stars for all of the sides, but what I loved about this meal was the tri tip. I feel that tri tip is usually overcooked and dry, but not this one. It was like eating slices of prime rib with the marbled fat and the pink center. It was moist, juicy and just straight out delicious! I highly recommend it! The portions are generous so this meal is great for a family or to be saved as another meal. read more

I've never been a big fan of places where you order from a counter and take your number to your seat. However, this particular evening was sure to be fun no matter what, since I was meeting some Yelp pals for a wine dinner. So, I was determined to give this place a fair shake. I ordered the tri-tip and had trouble choosing between Mesquite BBQ and Cracked Pepper Garlic. Fortunately, the cashier was kind and suggested that I get half and half. So, I did. Next came the sides. I'm not much of a carb junkie, so I was hoping for a bit more. Choices were limited so I stuck with a salad. Dinner was fun with wonderful conversation. My food came quickly and was fresh. The salad was tasty enough. The tri-tip was tender. Somehow, though, the sauces were a bit heavy. I would have preferred less sauce so that the tender meat could really show off. I don't really have a complaint other than feeling that I most likely won't be back. The meal was inexpensive. There just isn't a ton that I want to eat here. The atmosphere definitely feels like a chain, too. So, for a few bucks more, I could have enjoyed tastier BBQ with my pals some place else. If you want a quick meal, a wallet-friendly bill, and you aren't looking for ambiance, then you might enjoy this place. It's great for families and large parties. read more

I went to Stonefire 2 months ago and (more-than-I'd-like-to-admit) I think about it from time to time. Went with my sister who said the portions were huge, so we ended up sharing the Lemon Garlic Boneless Chicken Breast & Tri Tip Combo for a light dinner. Caesar Salad - Is this what Caesar dressing is supposed to be like?? Because I've been missing out! I like this dressing as much as I like ranch!!! (highest compliment for a dressing in my world) Breadsticks - Not the best I've ever had, they're skinny as fingers and remind me more like pretzel/crackers than other breadsticks I've had. Seasoned well though! A chicken girl at heart, I tried a bite of my sister's tri-tip and it was delicious! Tender, moist, juicy... I may even consider getting it next time! That being said, the chicken was all of those things and more!! I wasn't expecting the small chunks of garlic and lemon to baked along with the chicken (thought it was going to be garlic/lemon pepper rub), so it was very aromatic, fresh, and light. Left feeling satisfied and not with a gross feeling. Next time, I'll try the Stimulus Package. Sounds like a lot of food for a good price. read more

We came here for dinner on a Friday night. There was a greeter at the door that welcomed us and said we can sit anywhere that we like. I ordered a family meal that came with 12 garlic breadsticks, a half and half chicken, with one portion BBQ and the other portion lemon, a Caesar salad, and an additional separate order of Pesto. We waited around 10 minutes before the salad came out followed by another 5 minutes before the chicken and the rest of the food came out. The salad bowl was large and delicious. The chicken was moist, flavorful, and overall was also delicious. The food was very good, along with a good price - under $40 with tip, and we had some leftovers to take home. The only negative was with the garlic bread which made us smelly for a while but it was very tasty. We will come back to try their pizzas next time. read more

STIMULUS PACKAGE FTW! $20 for choice of meat, 2-topping pizza, salad, and breadsticks. We got the greek salad, which actually had really good olives and a generous amount of feta cheese. YUMMMM Breadsticks= the best, they're topped with massive amounts of parmasean cheese and garlic and cilantro ....and deliciousness Tri-tip (or you can choose chicken, ribs)= moist and tender and tasty. I love how there's extra bbq sauce on the side which enhances the flavor of the meat. The tri-tip is to die for. 2-topping pizza (bbq chicken & mushroom)= you can basically skip out on the chicken from the above section and just put it on your pizza. I love how the pizza is thin crusted and comes in 6 huge slices. $20 for 2 meals for 2 people???...DEFINITELY a steal. read more

I'm so effing full from the meal I just ate. I ate so intensely that I completely did not pay attention to the 1st quarter of game 4 just now. We got a coupon in the mail for the Stimulus Package. You can choose between a whole roast chicken (bbq or garlic, I prefer bbq) or tritip, 2 topping 12" pizza, 8 breadsticks, small salad of your choice (the caesar dressing is rad and has a kick to it). All for $19.99. Holy crap! The chicken is so moist and the breadsticks are covered in parmesean. I ordered take-out and it was ready in 15 minutes. Cheap and fast service. read more

Stonefire Grill is a pretty good deal when you have a large group of people wanting a casual meal ($10/person). The portions are huge! The place is "find your own seat" and they bring you the food you ordered. Favorites: Breadsticks - buttery and garlicy, crispy around the edges and soft chewy middle. Greek Salad - love their dressing, and chunks of cucumber, tomatoes, and olives, red onions. Lemon Garlic chicken - the meat is always really juicy and tender. The flavor of the Garlic butter has a touch of tanginess... Delicious! I use the breadsticks to soak up the juices/sauce. Pesto Pasta - your normal Pesto pasta, but so good! Always the perfect ratio of tube pasta to pesto sauce. Overall, Decent meal: lots of food for a minimal price... And we usually have a lot of leftovers for the next day, and it still tastes just as good! read more

I seriously love this place..I love carby food and salad, and that's exactly what Stonefire Grill has. I like to get the stimulus package. For $26, you can get a pizza, plate of tri trip, big salad, and 8 breadsticks. This is a shit load of food and more than enough for 3 people. The dough in the breadsticks & pizza is always super fresh and chewy. Their salads are delicious too! For tri tip, I try to order medium but it always comes out medium well. read more

Just before my Thanksgiving weekend started, I had to make one final run with my mother before enjoying my quiet time during the holidays. I had to make my sixth of seventh store visit to none other than my favorite 2013 Restaurant of the Year, Stonefire Grill. Did I just drive all the way to Irvine for Stonefire? Yes, I did. Either this location or the Fountain Valley location seemed far, but the heavy traffic, the trip seemed very far. Located in a shopping plaza with Target on Barranca Parkway, you'll find Stonefire Grill. This location seemed very different than the other Stonefire stores that I have visited. There were tons of cars going to the next door Target, but none were going into Stonefire. I got nervous thinking that this location was closed. I even looked at the store sign before I walked in, but it was only mentioning they were closed on Thanksgiving. My mother and I walked in and the atmosphere was nonexistent. There were a lot of tables, but not a lot of customers. Only three to five tables had customers, but seemed like they were just hanging around. I was greeted by Naomi and she took my order. It was weird to not see a busy Stonefire and it was a day where most people should be eating, but I know most were on the road. To maintain consistency, I order the usual: Medium South of the Border with Tri-Tip ($14.99), Medium Mashed Potatoes ($4.99), and 1/2 basked of breadsticks ($2.79). As we found a table, we waited for about 10 minutes for our food. We noticed that the room got very cold. I thought it was just our table, but I heard another party feel cold. I guess the temperature was set when the restaurant is packed at this time. Our delicious food came. Like the many other locations, the food is right on. The mashed potatoes and the South of the Border Salad matched my expectation. The breadsticks always EXCEED my expectation. I believe I got eight breadsticks instead of six. Heck, two extra breadsticks give the rating to 3.5 Stars. As I was trying to get the Styrofoam boxes for the leftover food, the Assistant Manager, Carlos, helped me get a plastic bag. Asked me how my meal went and how to improve for the next visit. We did talk about how Stonefire Grill is spread out through Los Angeles/Orange County. This is the lowest rating that I've given for Stonefire. Like I mentioned, this Stonefire had a weird atmosphere. Not sure because I am used to Los Angeles' versus Orange County versions. I know Fountain Valley still leads, in my books, and I hope to pay another visit to Irvine under better circumstances. Yelp! The One Stop Place For Your Everyday Research! read more

I've always avoided this place because it never looked appealing. I was pretty wrong about that. The reason this place is so good is the Stimulus Package. It's an off the menu package that includes tri-tip steak, salad, 8 breadsticks (which are like the best breadsticks ever!), and a medium two topping pizza, for just under $24 including tax. It's enough for either 2-3 guys or 4-6 girls. I wish they bottled and sold the caesar dressing on its own, because it's so garlicky and cheesy and amazing. They really douse the lettuce in it too. The pizza is actually pretty good and doesn't taste like the normal cheap pizza places. The tri-tip seems to be too chewy when cooked any less than medium, so I usually get medium well. And like I said earlier, the breadsticks are really good here. They're very garlicky and buttery. One time, me and the BF tried to get just pizza and a salad, and it ended up being around $22. So it's definitely always better to get the Stimulus Package. There's really nothing that beats that deal. read more

Robert is the best server that I have come across in a long time. He is very courteous and made me laugh and feel comfortable and welcomed with his laugh.
