My friend recommended this place and I was excited to try it since it had been on my list for a long time. We shared the charred broccoli to start and it was amazing! Do not miss it. We got the burrata, which we did not realize was like a mini pizza. It was cute, but not sure if it really needed as much bread as it had. The pistachio pesto was yummy though. Then we also shared the papparedelle pasta. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the sauce was pretty good. I might have liked a little but thicker of a sauce. It was not a huge portion, but with the other food it was perfect for sharing. Will have to come back here to try the cocktails as they looked great. The bartender who served us was very friendly and helpful!
Really disappointed. Was craving wood-fired pizza. Read all the reviews and couldn't wait to try it. Went down to treat myself to dinner on beautiful night. First, my $35 pizza was burnt but not enough to send it back. It was just ok. And when I asked for a box to take the leftovers home, this is what I got. No pizza box. Got home. No wax paper or foil. All stacked on top of each other and already soggy. So I paid $35 for 2 pizzas of burnt pizza and 4 soggy slices I won't eat. Really unacceptable, especially for a restaurant known for pizza. Def won't be back.
Went for brunch on Sunday, got to sit outside since the weather is nice. Very dog friendly! Ordered the Dutch baby, steak and eggs and pepperoni pizza to share. All the food were very tasty and the service was pretty fast! Would come back for brunch again
Always love coming here, they change their menu seasonally and it's always fresh, delicious, and inventive! Great drinks, friendly service, can't go wrong with any pizzas or pastas.
Stone burner has been a long time favorite of mine for one reason - the broccoli. It is the best broccoli I've ever had and the vegetable dish I crave the most - the char paired with the creamy tahini is just perfect. Other dishes come and go and are all generally quite good. The ambiance and service are always good. However on my most recent visit I was quite disappointed with the gnocchi. The gnocchi themselves were fantastic but they majorly skimped on the guanciale - I had many bites without any and had to fish around for it.
When you walk into Stoneburner, you'll be welcome by the most amazing smell of delicious baking pizza. The vibe is super cute , we were obsessed with the architecture inside. Everybody is extremely friendly from the hostess to the servers. We started with a salad. Chicory something-not pictured. It was good, but I only didn't love it because of the manchego in it. The apples and hazelnuts were a nice touch. For dinner, we share the bucatini pasta and the potato and mushroom pizza . The pasta was perfectly cooked sauce was not overwhelming . The Pizza had the most amazing crust . The toppings were great. I felt like I was eating perfectly cooked potatoes in addition to eating the pizza. Originally, when I saw another table order the baked Alaska, I thought it was a stack of waffles. The baked Alaska was delicious. It was a perfect shareable dessert. Not pictured was the house pomegranate soda. I felt like it lacked a little flavor and it wasn't very fizzy for soda. Especially at $7 a glass. But I appreciated them trying. I would say my main Takeaway for coming back would be for the pizza .
Lovely place. So beautifully done inside and ample seating both indoors and outdoors. We were a large group and sat outside. Staff was attentive,helpful and friendly. Food was good but the stellar moment was when dessert came over. Oh man, the cheese cake was delicious but the smores chocolate ice cream cake was to die for. I would come back just for that.
We had a lovely evening here. Highlights included the service, and the ambiance. We sat right by the patio which was nice seeing the people passing by. Although I didn't love the pork chop, because it felt over cooked, the drinks, pasta and salad we had were phenomenal. I would come back and try their pizza next time.
So we went here for Father's Day 2024 and I'm so glad we did! It's been a minute since we've been here and the food, service and ambiance were all fantastic! Let's get to it Wild King Salmon: this was probably my least favorite dish as the fish was overcooked, a shame as the flavors were really good and you could tell the parts that were not over cooked promised a delicious dish if done right, the sauces and asparagus complemented it beautifully Charred Broccoli: hands down the best veggie dish I have tasted in a long while, whoa it packs a punch! I loved it so much I stole a piece off my kiddos plate Spot Prawn Aguachile: I had no idea what I was getting myself into here looool but I'm so glad I tried it, everything about it was bright and fresh BUT I probably would have preferred a cooked shrimp dish (sigh I know I'm terrible) Morels Pizza l: SO SO TASTY I love mushrooms, I love morels and I loved this pizza, the confit garlic and potato just added another layer YUM! Dry Aged Toro Steak: now this bad boy was not playing around, it sat on a bed of thinly sliced potato's and oh that salsa verde, but the steak was king here beautifully cooked and seasoned well it was a delicious plate Basque Cheesecake: oh yes I planned for this guy and boy was I glad we indulged a little more, it was heaven! And they even put the fruit compote on the side as I'm not one for cooked fruit. A great finish to the meal, make room for it!!
Got a reservation for Friday night dinner. Without it, the wait would have been 1 hr long ( heard the server talking with the party of 2 after us). We were seated right Away. The decorations and vibe were very nice and services was really welcoming too. We started out with MONTILLA SOUR, it's a bit tangy and creamy. Really love it. The drinks and the grilled octopus really blew my mind. The flavor, texture and everything about that octopus was amazing. Pasta and pizza were great too but not as much as octopus. read more
I give this restaurant 5 stars purely on food. The service was good on the whole, but our server could've been better. The host and sommelier (Khalil) was phenom. Greeted us with a warm welcome and periodically checked in on us. Our food runner was also very kind and engaging. Our server was just "meh." Several times I had to give him "the eye" to come check on us. Eventually, he got with the program. But it shouldn't take patrons making prolonged eye contact for you to refill water. The food here is amazing!! We ordered the octopus, scallops (3xs), the broccoli, cassarece, and pepperoni pizza. For dessert we had the ice cream. Honeeeyyyy! Everything was top tier. The octopus is perfectly prepared. Some places cook it right and it turns out chewy. Not here. Buenisimo! We also loved the scallops! Seasoned with what seemed like basic salt and pepper and cooked in butter. But they're so we'll done! Only three to an order so we ordered 3xs. The broccoli is chargrilled and served on a bed of tahini. The cassarece was also phenom. The noodles are al dente. And they do a great job of incorporating in season produce, which happens to be a certain kind of (meaty) mushroom. The pepperoni pizza is a little spicy, but light and filling. I thought the server was kidding about the ice cream being the best dessert. But hello! It's soo good. It gives gelato, and is topped with this peanut butter, coffee crunch. Omg! Divine! Be sure and save room for the dessert. No one is wearing a mask here. But that's pretty much all of Seattle. They do have an open air concept with open windows and fresh air circulating, which is nice! I'll be back for sure. Those scallops are calling me already! read more

A great spot for a treat-yourself kind of night in Ballard! They have an outdoor dining setup for COVID with heat lamps, although please be wary of the wait for it. We were told ~35 minutes but it ended up being a bit closer to ~1 hour so just make a reservation instead. The wait aside, the food and staff were so nice! Our waiter was really nice and was able to get our orders and drinks super quickly. There are great vegetarian options too! I got the ricotta and mushroom pizza to share -- the ricotta came with this amazing bread and pickled vegetables. The taste from the pickled veggies with the creamy cheese was so food. The mushroom pizza was super unique and had thin slices of Yukon potatoes on top too! I got a Ship Canal Punch with vodka as a drink and also really loved that it wasn't too sweet and was great to sip on during the meal. Overall, a good evening with good food! read more

Was really excited to try this place bc it had a lot of raving reviews but I had a very mediocre experience. I had a reservation for 5pm on a Saturday and wanted to take my parents who were visiting from out of country. We were seated right away but no one came by for about 30 mins but tables who were seated after us were getting served appetizers. We complained to the staff and they finally took our order and took another 20 mins for all the food to come out. Service here was not great, staff didn't seem to care much, and the food was not the best either. We ordered burrata to start and got lobster pizza, lumache and paccheri. Didn't see any lobster on the pizza but had a lot of mushrooms and wasn't bad but wouldn't have paid the extra $ for "lobster". Pasta was okay- probably would not order those same dishes if I were to ever come back. Overall, I had a very disappointing experience here read more
Okay, hear me out. I know stoneburner is really popular for their pizzas but their other dishes are OH SO AMAZING. I think this was one of my last dine-in outdoor experiences in 2021 and glad it was. Started with some Dutch fries which are perfectly crisp with tender steamy potatoey goodness inside - comes with togarashi aioli. Yum. Moving on to the calamari and grilled octopus - they were perfection even if the calamari dish wasn't the typical bartered and deep fried. It still was so delish! Pasta dish (I can't recall now which it was) with meaty ragu sauce was amazing and I'm really looking forward to trying out more of their pasta dishes soon. Overall, with their drinks pairing nicely with their dinner spread and nice service, I will be back again and trying out more from their non pizza menu. Heck, might even get a pizza and a bunch of sides and get wild. read more

Blown away! The atmosphere was a little more dressy than I thought! It's a rustic, romantic atmosphere! Me and my friend were trying someone new! Also didn't know it was in a hotel! All facts! Free parking in their Ballard hotel parking lot (in the back). I wanted a white pasta, they had it and I got it! Delicious thin egg noodles, great flavor, enough to make me full! It was on the weekend/evening menu, so it might not be there again! Everything I wanted wasn't there! No more artichoke, the other items were all from previous menus! I would recommend just going and checking it out! I was very pleased with the choices! The bread was huge and perfect for the pasta meal! (My friend didn't share). But I know it was good! The even do fresh cut meats and cheeses, which is nice! I got this new tequila mezcal banana liqueur drink! It was great. I was a craft cocktail so I was a fan! My friend got the cherry shrub? That was great! I almost got the dessert but I just wanted something different than pudding! Overall happy camper! Drink, pasta, and appetizer for $65 bucks! read more

for a party of two, we ordered a pizza and pasta to share. we left incredibly full! ambiance is great for a date night. they had an open kitchen which was lovely to watch as we waited for our food. they also switch up their menu depending on the seasonal produce. so make sure to keep yourselves updated with their menu through their website! read more

This is a nice place. The service is always good. My other half likes the pizza. It's Napolitan style. If you like that style it's ok. It's crazy busy On Sunday due to the farmers market. The menu is limited for my taste. read more

I was catching up with 2 old coworkers (all vaccinated!) before moving cross country, and we were trying to find a place to eat. Somewhat bad planning on our parts as it was a sunny, beautiful Sunday afternoon with the Farmer's Market going down the street. Everywhere was busy. My coworker got us on the list for outdoor seating, and we waited 30-40 minutes before they texted us to let us know a table was avaliable. They didn't have any issue with social distancing but more so with the staff and being able to keep up. They brought out a bottle of water for us immediately, which was much appreciated. They were even kind enough to bring out a little bowl of water for our pup! They were very busy and took a while to come over to us. But it was super understandable. The sunny weather and good company kept us occupied and in a really good mood. I got the porchetta, my husband got the Turkish eggs, and our table got the beet salad and pepperoni pizza to share as an appetizer. The food took a while to get to us, more then 30 minutes. The pepperoni pizza was delicious, the pepperoni was of good quality. The beet salad was refreshing and tasty. Our entrees came out later and staggered. The wait was worth it. My porchetta was well cooked, although I wish they had brought me out a sharper knife so I didn't have to use a butter knife to cut into it. It had a green (chimmichuri?) sauce on top that was a great complement to the saltier meat. The potatoes were seasoned very well, and I couldn't stop eating it. Our waitress was super friendly, even the guys bringing the food out to us were great. The service is fantastic, everyone was wearing masks, and they're super kind to dogs! The food is good, although there was a bit of a long wait. There was a good amount of outdoor seating as well, and we felt really safe eating there! read more

Went on a double date here with our friends last night! Immediately loved the environment and light fixtures, made for a romantic date night. Our waitress Madi was amazing-- since I'm vegan, she gave me recommendations and explained all the options available thoroughly! She was super nice, checked up on usC and was there to take our several orders from entrees to drinks to dessert! We ended up going with 2 vegan entrees-- they have a vegan pizza and vegan pasta available. The cashew crème base was savory and delicious! Our friends tried a pizza and also tried the carrot cake. All in all, great vibes, delicious food, and kind staff! We will definitely be coming back. read more

There are only so many places I've ever been where I can truly taste every ingredient listed in a recipe. It takes excellence for flavors to be enhanced to perfection and not blend into a dish. I can say, every bite was just divine at Stoneburner. Every flavor came through. We enjoyed brunch here and I was inspired to return soon to try dinner time. If the gorgeous flavors don't get you, the gorgeous atmosphere will. It's got a historic feel that is well preserved, which is rare in our very modern city (but perhaps not so rare for the beautiful Ballard). They also have one of the best outdoor seating arrangements that I've seen, it's truly a pleasure to wander through charming Ballard and make a stop here. read more
Cake here for a friends birthday back in August and I thought my salmon avocado toast was delicious! Others in our party did not think their food tasted as great though. Unfortunately the low rating is from the service. Our waitress was incredibly rude and short and seemed annoyed to have been our host from the beginning. She never checked on us and complained when we would ask for more water or ketchup for example. Unfortunately I would like to go back as I enjoyed the food but the service left a bad taste in our mouth. read more

First of all, the food is so good! The Chitara pasta is a great portion and just the right flavors and with the egg on top... you will indulge into it. The chocolate cake was decadent and flavorful and not too chocolate-ty. Okay but this real review is for our waitress, Ally. Come for the food and stay for Ally because she is literally the sweetest and funniest person ever. She brings great energy and is so bright we LOVE HER! 10 stars across the board. read more

This is a place for special occasions in a romantic setting. If you want to really set the bar high for your first date, or Valentine's Day, or the weekend you decide to propose to your partner - that is a good occasion to come to Stoneburner. I have done the outside patio space and the inside spot during 25% capacity. For a vegetarian diner, without a doubt the best dish here is their mushroom pizza. It's thin, flavourful, and light. The service is excellent. Once, we ordered the pizza where two of the slices from a 6 slice pizza were missing due to an issue with it being removed from the oven. The servers offered us an entire pizza as takeout due to that. This was appreciated. Drinks are strong, so keep that in mind. If you're not a super heavy drinker, consider sharing or splitting an alcoholic drink with another member of your party. read more

We went to a large birthday party held on the rooftop pavilion last Sunday, so I can only speak on that as opposed to the restaurant, menu, etc. There were at least 100 people at the event which lasted about 2.5 hours. The weather was nice that day and the view from the roof was beautiful. The staff did an excellent job of serving so many people each course of the meal. The prime rib is excellent as well as the tuna and salads. There was a full-service bar and the wine was excellent. If your looking for a nice venue for a large party this is an ideal place. However, finding it drove me mad and GPS was of little help so that part I didn't enjoy. Once you find it you'll be glad you did. read more

Stoneburner is a solid option for Ballard on a weekend evening! The overall atmosphere is upscale and a tad dim for mood. Overall, I like the look of the restaurant. It's a bit noisy, and I sat in front of a partition close to the front door. Pro-tip ask for a different seat! The wind can be chilly. We enjoyed cocktails, an appetizer, and two entrees. Cocktail review: classic cocktail riffs--the Melrose and the Clipper. If you want something with smoke I'd say the Melrose is up your alley. If a boozy drink with a citrus twist is your preferred imbibe the rye based Clipper is what you want. The dining experience was adequate. The plates weren't coursed, which threw me for a loop, considering the pricing and clientele, but the server was super accommodating! He had great recommendations and we enjoyed the service. We shared the Tempura Fry! It was so delicious we inhaled it before a picture. If you like horseradish, it's great! If you like spicy horseradish--bring your own! Seriously, the tempura fried shrimp is tasty and the creme underneath is delicious and not overpowering. We also shared some of the Fennel Sausage Pizza. It came out pretty quickly, and the flavor was on par with other similar style pizzas. Nothing special, except for the crust. The most unique dish that we loved was the Brick Pressed Chicken! So juicy and the skordalia was very authentic. I know chicken isn't an elegant date night entree, but it's seriously worth it! Upscale presentation and flavor--much better than the pizza. I'd encourage you to order this dish (and I'm always hesitant to order chicken at a restaurant). We decided to end the night with Brown Butter Cake and wow! Indulge y'all. The dish is plenty for one and a nice share for two. Yum! I'd subtract one star for the atmosphere. It's a tad loud in the back right corner close to the window and it echoes loudly. I also didn't love the table behind the partition and it was a bit drafty. read more

Great atmosphere and service! The food for me fell a bit short. I will say I went during lunch so maybe it was my poor choice of timing or food. I ordered the mushroom grits off the brunch menu and the mushroom pizza. Both were overly oily and flavorless, to be honest. It was too bad bc I read numerous good reviews about this place. I'll come back and try some things off the dinner menu to see if there is improvement, but overall, I'm a bit disappointed. I also paid $18 for a tiny bowl of grits which is outrageous. read more

If you're having doubts about coming here, forget them! From the moment we walked in, Kirubel greeted us and sat us down at the bar top since we did not make a reservation prior to going. He recommended the pizza and it did not disappoint whatsoever. Of course we had to get dessert so we ordered The cheesecake and it was amazing... it melted in your mouth immediately as soon as you took a bite. Highly recommend it. Also had us taste some Italian light beer called Peroni and that is now my go to. Such a great experience and place to dine at- if you go ask for Kirubel, he is great, knowledgeable and an all around good person to talk to! read more

I wouldn't see why not. They don't have a large outdoor area but they do have sling walls in the bar area that opens up the space to the outside.
