Food was spectacular. The pepperoni pizza is one of my favorite takes on a classic, and the beef cheek tagliatelle was melt in your mouth with perfectly textured noodles. My only complaint is the portion size for the price. At $34, the pizza felt a bit small, and for just $2 less, the bowl of pasta was kid size. The desserts rotate and are consistently incredible and creative--I still think monthly of one I had a few years ago (it had chocolate and some kind of peanut crisp--like a classy and delicious Butterfinger!) . We stopped in for our first wedding anniversary earlier this summer and our server went so out of his way to make our night special; I will never forget it!! I hate writing negative reviews, especially because our server was genuinely friendly and clearly trying but unfortunately, the experience missed the mark from start to finish. We felt lucky to snag a Valentine's Day table without a reservation... but quickly realized why one was available. Service started strong with a prompt greeting, but our drinks took about 15 minutes and arrived incorrect. The garlic bread followed, cold and completely lacking flavor. A little salt or seasoning would have gone a long way. We ordered the scallops, charred broccoli, and rigatoni and specifically asked for everything to come out together for a shared meal. Instead, the scallops arrived within minutes, cold and flavorless, followed by the broccoli, also cold with little taste. The rigatoni finally showed up warm, but bland enough that none of us wanted to finish it. The pacing felt rushed yet somehow disorganized, and the kitchen execution just wasn't there. Slowing down service and focusing on seasoning would dramatically improve the dining experience. The staff did discount our meal, which we appreciated, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to make us want to return. read more

First, my $35 pizza was burnt but not enough to send it back. It was just ok. And when I asked for a box to take the leftovers home, this is what I got. No pizza box. Got home. No wax paper or foil. Stone burner has been a long time favorite of mine for one reason - the broccoli. It is the best broccoli I've ever had and the vegetable dish I crave the most - the char paired with the creamy tahini is just perfect. Other dishes come and go and are all generally quite good. The ambiance and service are always good. However on my most recent visit I was quite disappointed with the gnocchi. The gnocchi themselves were fantastic but they majorly skimped on the guanciale - I had many bites without any and had to fish around for it. read more

When you walk into Stoneburner, you'll be welcome by the most amazing smell of delicious baking pizza. The vibe is super cute , we were obsessed with the architecture inside. Everybody is extremely friendly from the hostess to the servers. We started with a salad. Chicory something-not pictured. It was good, but I only didn't love it because of the manchego in it. The apples and hazelnuts were a nice touch. For dinner, we share the bucatini pasta and the potato and mushroom pizza . The pasta was perfectly cooked sauce was not overwhelming . The Pizza had the most amazing crust . The toppings were great. I felt like I was eating perfectly cooked potatoes in addition to eating the pizza. Originally, when I saw another table order the baked Alaska, I thought it was a stack of waffles. The baked Alaska was delicious. It was a perfect shareable dessert. Not pictured was the house pomegranate soda. I felt like it lacked a little flavor and it wasn't very fizzy for soda. Especially at $7 a glass. But I appreciated them trying. Stoneburner used to be great, but not so much these days. They still have a fantastic location and a nice locale. The hours are minimal. They are closed two days a week and when they open, it's only from 4-9pm. The food quality also went down. Their potato, cheese sauce, and mushroom pizza became a garlic potato pizza, with mostly garlic. I love garlic, yet even for me that's way too much garlic to where you don't taste anything else in the pizza. A real shame to see this restaurant go downhill. read more

Dry Aged Toro Steak: now this bad boy was not playing around, it sat on a bed of thinly sliced potato's and oh that salsa verde, but the steak was king here beautifully cooked and seasoned well it was a delicious plate Basque Cheesecake: oh yes I planned for this guy and boy was I glad we indulged a little more, it was heaven! Garlic bread was huge and delicious, burrata was in fact really good. The pepperoni pizza is delish but definitely has a bite to it from the Serranos. It was spicier than anticipating so heads up to anyone ordering it. We also shared the salmon which was perfectly cooked and the gnocchi which were like little pillows of love. Had really high hopes based on reviews. Sadly, they didn't match up to the experience we had. The hostess gave some long winded speech about where to sit and not to sit, and honestly I have zero idea what she was talking about or why because she was unclear and it was extremely loud. Not surprising walk-ins may either have to wait or sit at the bar on a busy night but shouldn't there be an easier way to communicate that? We ended up sitting at the bar and ordering take out. The bartender was very personable and offered some of his suggestions about the menu. The restaurant itself has a dark and cozy vibe which we always prefer. We ended up ordering the pepperoni pizza and roasted black cod entree. The wait time for the food wasn't horrible for a busy night. I'll just say this. The food for the price charged does not match, not even remotely. The pizza was burnt. I was honestly shocked they would even serve it that way. Personally if I was the chef or part of the kitchen staff I would have made another one, and apologized for the wait. Then you have the cod entree ... it was a big soggy mess tossed into the to-go box. Again - shocked they would serve the meal this way. The cabbage was limp, and dripping wet. The fish was soggy so much so that the skin was falling off of it, and then there was two spoonfuls of mashed something. To top it all off there was no offer of tableware or napkins for our to-go order. For the price of the meals at this restaurant I expect better. Pics attached. Our servers were so pleasant and very funny! And last but not least -- THE FOOD! Hands down the best Tiramisu I've ever had, everyone in our party hyped it up so much that our lactose intolerant friend got a serving to go so that they could enjoy it in the comfort of their hotel room. The roasted carrots were so amazing, I would actually pick those over the fries! It was just packed with flavor and the texture was also nice. I there love how close it is to other bars and restaurants if you're looking to make a whole night out. Stoneburner is hands down one of the best restaurants in Seattle, and I am often perplexed as to why it doesn't appear on many "best of" lists. Are food reviewers ordering the wrong items? In any case... Their loss is your gain. On a recent Saturday night, I dined here with two of my girlfriends, and sat at a beautiful table in their front patio. The two of them started with a rosé flight, and I had a Lambrusco. Our server, Hilary, was super friendly and informative, and helped us make smart decisions on what to pick! Our first dish was the snap pea salad, which was super fresh and light, and had all of the elements of summer. Our next two dishes were the grilled oyster mushrooms with a chickpea passata and, my personal favorite, the charred broccoli with a tahini sauce. I seriously dream about this broccoli dish! I cannot recommend it enough. Pro tip: hold onto that lemony, savory tahini goodness to dip your pizza crust in. The three of us then shared the morel pizza, which was topped with taleggio, garlic confit and potatoes. We were contemplating one more dish, and the vegetables are just so outstanding here that we decided to top it off with the roasted carrots in an avocado crema. From the moment we stepped inside, the ambiance and attentive service set the stage for an exceptional evening. The service was excellent. Our waitress Allie engaged us in delightful conversation, making us feel welcome and at ease. She was knowledgeable about the menu and provided helpful recommendations. She even brought us garlic bread on the house since she thought we were waiting too long. Very nice surprise and we didn't complain. We indulged in a variety of dishes, each leaving a lasting impression. The beef tartare was a revelation. The finely minced meat was seasoned perfectly with an egg on top, and the accompanying condiments elevated the flavors. The Snap Pea Salad was on point. I want to figure out their recipe. Maybe they will send it to me if I ask nicely. Fresh, crisp snap peas combined with a dill vinaigrette made for a refreshing starter. The charred broccoli was simple yet satisfying with their tahini sauce. The charred edges added a delightful crunch. The scallops were seared to perfection, tender and succulent. The accompanying sauce complemented them beautifully. The pillowy gnocchi, bathed in a ragu Bolognese sauce, was a comforting delight. I could've had more and thought the portion size was a little on the small size though. Overall Impression I thought the Stoneburner was a gem in the culinary landscape of Seattle. The issue was with the burrata, and especially the pastas. The gnocchi had maybe 15 pieces. Honestly it barely covered the bottom of the bowl. It felt like a small plate, yet was $30. The burrata came with 2 pieces of bread. The other pasta was a bit larger but still not an appropriate size for an entree. The food was generally good, but far from a good value. read more
