Fantastic gluten free menu with a wide variety of choices. Quick and easy for lunch with coworkers or a client. Really enjoy the service and the food. The Aztec vibe was a fun twist. read more

Stokes has always been a class act! We called on short notice for a reservation for 8 on a Saturday night, and they were able to accomodate us! The new location is very cozy, and nice. I've always been a fan of their terrific wine selection, Raspberry margaritas and Cabo Chicken Salad. My husband LOVES the steak and mushroom enchilada. It has a fun unique mole-like sauce with a touch of cinnamon that really sets it off! On our last visit, his dish had changed a bit. They are now using brisket instead of chunks of steak. We were not impressed, and asked that the waitress pass along our feedback to Chef John. Aside from that, eat at Stokes for a fun and classy southwestern experience! read more

Great Fish Tacos with three choices of seafood, and also the Cabo San Taco which actually is spicy chicken. I don't go there enough to satisfy my taste buds. Have always had great service here. read more

I came here for lunch at around 2pm during a business trip. This place is a Mexican/American fusion place I would say? The interior looked nice, and had decor that was somewhat reminiscent of a log cabin. I got the chicken enchiladas with the lunch sized portion. The plate was massive! I was a bit confused because I noticed there was a special lunch pricing. The dinner sized one must be really really big. Overall the chicken was well made and the beans/rice on the side were a nice complement to the main portion of the dish. It also had a lighter feel to it than the steak enchiladas that my coworkers got because it didn't have any heavy red sauce. Another coworker got the ahi tuna tacos, which she liked. Be warned that the plates come out hot! The waiter was an interesting character. He was a bit slow to get our orders, which is why I didn't give 5 stars. However, he winked at my coworker, who had a wedding ring on, wasn't particularly well dressed, and looked like he just woken up. I thought it was hilarious. I'd come here again for lunch. read more

We went on a Saturday night fairly early so it wasn't crowded when we arrived. The highlight was definitely the food. My butternut squash and potato burrito with mushroom crema and black beans was seriously out of this world. It was a completely awesome dish I want to try to recreate. We skipped drinks, though they had a good drink menu. Only drawback was service was a bit slow at payment time, but there were some big parties ordering when we were trying to leave to get to a show. I'd definitely return for that awesome meal though! read more

I'm torn on this one folks. I was here with a few others on Saturday night. We were told we would have a 40 minute wait. Not surprising since it was peak time. NO big deal. We went to the bar and had a few over priced drinks and made small talk with the locals. I had a very good gin and tonic. Anywho....we finially got called about an hour and ten minutes after we arrived. It was a crazy long wait. We got a booth and the server gal was great. The chips were soft and not crisp by any means. The guac was real good though. I ordered the hot chicken penne. It was delicious!!! The bowl never seemed to end either. I was comfortbally full. Others has the heat wrap or something like that. They said it was very good, but it came with this very hot but sweet habenero sauce that tasted incredable. It would be something that I would put on stir fry. The bill here wasn't too bad as we all split it evenly. The chef came out and talked with us and he was a real nice guy and helpful about our decisions on the meals. It they could have had better turn around to get us in there quicker that would have added a star and if the drinks were not so damn spendy that would get another one. The food was great but other parts were lacking. read more

Great little restaurant! Love to eat here whenever I'm back to Omaha. Fun, diverse menu & super wine list. New location = awesome!

First visit... Chips and salsa was delish! Chicken enchilada was very good. Service was the best I've had in a long time... Everyone we encountered was genuinely nice and didn't seem to hate their job! Great job! Not the best Mexican in town but a nice change read more

Probably one of the best meals we have had in Omaha since moving here over two years ago! Patrick was an amazing server as well and made the environment even more enjoyable. read more

I LOVE this restaurant. It's my favorite in Omaha. The food is fantastic; the wine list is extensive and ambitious. Everything I have tried on their menu has exceeded expectations. The waitstaff is friendly and knowledgeable. Great for a leisurely meal with lively conversation. Try it tonight, you won't be disappointed. read more

Most of this review is based on the fact that Sharon's Enchiladas are one of my two must-have meals when I come to Omaha (The other is the Steak Pizza at the Upstream). Most other dishes I have had there (Tacos Carbon, Cabo San Taco) are good not great. It is fancier than typical Tex-Mex so it is a solid option to take clients. read more

Love the new West Dodge location. Sharon's Chicken Enchiladas never cease to deliver! Great remodel of 2 failed restaurants!

We find ourselves questioning our lack of frequency every time we leave Stokes. A few of our favorites are Sharon's Chicken Enchiladas, the Aztec Nachos and Koko's Salad. On Sunday's they feature a brunch menu that showcases their southwest twist on traditional and non-traditional brunch affair. The build-your-own Bloody Mary bar is a fun way to get the drinks flowing and is well priced. read more

This food is unlike any other I've tried. Very unique tastes! We ordered a bean dip and deviled eggs for appetizers; Both were mouth watering. For the main dish we had a variety of tacos and enchiladas. My kids are choosy at restaurants but ate their enchiladas right up (despite upset stomachs earlier in the day). Service was a bit slow for the amount of people eating out but I won't down them a star for that. Will be back in the future. read more

Stopped in from out of town for some tapas and wine. Nice wine selection and some creative apps. The filet skewers were nicely seasoned but the meat was a bit scrawny and chewy. The tortilla soup was very good and spiced just right. Ate at the bar and the service was great. Unfortunately the staff was aggressively cleaning the place nearly an hour prior to closing making for a rushed uncomfortable feel. read more

Finally tried Stokes for the 1st time. Had the special (filet mignon skewers w/ a Korean sauce and an Aioli - I think, I stopped listening after filet mignon, haha) it was excellent, our waiter Patrick was phenomenal and even brought an empty kids cup to keep our 10mo old entertained. The food was great. Atmosphere fun and relaxed. The only think keeping me at 4/5 stars is the steak had a surprising amount of fat on it. And I've never had a filet w/ fat on it. However, our service was so wonderful, we plan to make this a regular spot, and ask for Patrick's section every time!! read more

Stokes - The special of the night, Filet Mignon skewers - Tex-Mex Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

Sunday Brunch is one of our favorite times to eat at Stokes. We love the Sharon's chicken enchilladas, and their brunch special was a small plate of Sharon's and two eggs of your choice. Great combo. We had a table for six and we all ordered the special....it's that good. Good food...good value....good service. read more

Seating is kind of awkward. Go on wednesday for 1/2 price bottles of wine

I wasn't very impressed. The food was too expensive for what we were served. The shrimp scampi on ciabatta was only a quarter of the plate and only 4 pieces of shrimp. The Tacos Carbon was decent but not impressive. The Queso fundido was bland and boring and I am not sure why it would even come with tortilla shells. read more

Nice atmosphere. Was able to easily seat our party of 8. Food tasted great, just everything was salty. The guacamole and chips was good, again, however, the guac was salty. Good margarita for the price. Will probably give it another try. read more

We visited this location last night. Loved the 1/2 price bottles of wine, believe me, we had plenty. My husband enjoyed the trout dip, which we have ordered before. Unfortunately, I ordered the Queso Fundido. Let me just say, I like cinnamon, but not in my Queso .....yuck! It was very overpowering and sorry to say, I will never order it again. With that said, I will be back and order Sharon's Enchiladas, that I have ordered in the past and are very yummy..!! read more

The only reason that I'm giving 2 stars is because our server Sam, younger gal with light hair, was friendly, attentive and worked hard. We ordered 3 bottles of wine before they had one they had in stock. That's not too impressive for a more established place in Omaha. The food was okay but my Sharon Enchilada was cool in the middle but I ate it because it took a while to get my food as it was and I didn't want to wait for another 25 minutes or have it come out 2 minutes later fresh from Chef 'Mic'. Maybe I'll try again in few months. read more

We love the enchiladas, but always order the Johnnie's big plate so we cat get a bit of everything! We have been there around 20 times and only once was our dinner sub-par. We got a cold stuffed pepper. They apologized and quickly replaced it. No big deal. 8-) read more

We recently attended their Duckhorn wine dinner. Although the food was "OK", the wine pours were marginal and the supposed discount prices on the wine to take home was a joke (we regularly purchase high end wine). The distributer that attended the dinner could not provide information on case production of the various wines either. We never were allowed to re-visit any of the wine they were trying to peddle and for about $150 including tip, we could have had dinner and our own bottle of wine (Blue Eyed Boy that is on their wine list for about $50) and walked away much less than the $150 charged. We will not attend another. read more

I don't know if they were just off on this night but wasn't impressed with this location. the tenderloin skewers were raw and only lightly seared, they took them back to the kitchen to cook longer and brought them out on a regular plate instead of the decorative one they initially arrived on. the chicken in my burrito was room temperature while the plate was scalding hot. The waitress immediately brought a new burrito with the same issue but I told her it was better since maybe this place just serves their meats colder than what's safe? Our waitress was exceptional which saved this place a couple stars, they also comped my burrito from our meal so they did try to rectify it. Unfortunately, Not sure if I'll go back to this location. read more

The Twisted garlic shrimp pasta is great. The price was okay.

Came to eat this around 3ish this afternoon. Only one other table. The service was lessthan average and non attentive which matters since we had a 3 year old with us. The fold was sub par....but worse had msg (autolized yeast to be exact). Niw y husband is home sick throwing up due to allergy. Stokes should notate on menu that they're poisoning you. Oh wait. Nebraska doesn't require that so why bother? We'll never go to either location again....nor should you if you want fresh food that doesn't require artificial flavor enhancers. Margarita was good but couldn't enhance experience. read more

I have been here several times. Love the food!! Service is usually very slow! Every time I come in there is always the same man who is the host. He is horribly rude every time! read more

Food is good, especially if you like enchiladas because that is there main thing, but they also have really good fish, steak, and sausage tacos as well as salads. read more

First time coming here, order a burger with bacon, bacon was really burnt and so were the fries. Girlfriend did not get silverware to eat her dinner. Food came out slightly cold. Felt rushed to leave and pretty much the food was not worth it. My mother order a margarita that was water down to the point where I believe they didn't even put alcohol in it. Poor Services and poor cook. read more

We decided to go to stokes for our last date night before baby arrives and it was a huge disappointment. I have had it many years ago at the old market location and have raved about the Aztec nachos. I couldn't wait for my husband to try. Unfortunately whoever made this batch made them way to spicy my husband couldn't eat them. We also ordered the happy hour tacos that we didn't touch. They looked and smelt terrible. The table left a nasty smell on our hands. Even though the food wasn't great I would have to say the worst part was our server Art. He had zero personality and seemed miserable. He would stand at the table and not say one word after we had ordered then would finally walk away. Once we received our food he only did laps around the restaurant and never stopping to ask how things were. I had to grab our own silverware and also had to track him down for more water. When I asked him earlier if I could have a side of spicy salsa he just looked at me like I was weird. So I asked if they offered some and he went on to say he has two types of salsa. I asked again which one would be spicy but he had no idea and only said that he would bring both. The whole experience was very uncomfortable and was definitely disappointing. We won't be back. read more

Food is always great, but the staff is awful. I don't expect much, but half the time the waiters won't even look you in the eye. They awkwardly come to the table and say nothing when pouring water. We come here once a month mainly because the good food, but it's hard to support a company who has staff that isn't friendly. I have had a couple issues with the rewards program too. The youngest manager one time was so rude and the problem was due to the staff not advising properly. The other manager was helpful the second time we had issues. He also apologized for the issue where the other manager wouldn't apologize. A sorry goes a long ways when it is necessary read more

Excellent food (especially the Sharron's Chicken Enchiladas). The new location is a bit noisy and the atmosphere has changed from a less intimate restaurant to a larger and louder alternative. I gave 4 stars because of the great food. There is also plenty of parking. read more

SHARONS ENCHILADAS ARE TO DIE FOR. I've never had bad service. Love their Raspberry margaritas.

Stokes is only so-so. I keep trying it and hoping for WOW but it comes up short. Brisket tacos. Ho hum. Green Chile Burrito. Lots of tortilla and chicken but short on green chile. And flavor. Good beans and rice. And good service. read more

Wow... so disappointed. My work went to stokes and brought it back for lunch today and at least 2 of my coworkers and I will never be ordering from here again. I got the steak tacos and the steak has absolutely no flavor. Another person got chicken tortilla soup with no tortilla. Another was supposed to get tortillas with her order and didn't. Nope... done read more

Was totally looking forward to my fav Stokes menu item - Sharon Chix enchiladas last night and unfortunately it looks like I wont be having them again. :( Actually the whole experience was bad and my husband who has never eaten at Stokes before couldn't understand why I liked them so much. First off I ordered the enchiladas which while the plate itself was hot the only thing ON the plate that was hot were the beans! And the enchiladas were lacking major flavor! As for my husband he ordered the $30 Ribeye med-rare and his steak was no more than a 1/4" thick - not exaggerating! it looked like it would be used on a steak sandwich maybe so we asked the waitress if all the Ribeye's were cut that thin and her response was " well I think they're usually thicker" and just kinda walked away unsure? after I had eaten more of the enchilada I knew for sure something was lacking and I asked the waitress if the sauce was missing because I couldn't see or taste it anywhere- and I looked! her response was " I think they pour it on top" okaaaay well its not there or it was so minimal that it wasn't giving any flavor - not sure what but they were basically a tortilla with chicken and cheese with a little of that green sauce on top- no white sauce! in the end the food lacked flavor, the $30 sandwich steak was a ripoff and sorry you cant cook something that thin med-rare correctly and the food as a whole was warm at best....except for the beans like I said. Waitress had already checked out because she could care less and was not interested in trying to find out answers to simple questions as far as how the food is served. Was a complete waste of time and $$ and neither of us were full. I took my enchiladas home so I could try and fix them up to taste better-haha read more

I've been eating at Stokes ever since the place has been in existence, so it's probably time I write a review. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new location. The decor is warm and comfortable, with an understated Southwestern theme, and the space is big enough and open enough to keep the noise level very comfortable so diners can converse without shouting at each other. When I first heard that they were moving into the failed Ted's Nebraska Grill/Baja Grill location, I was worried. In order to get into the parking lot, you have to drive through the parking lot of an office building, which feels wrong, for some reason. But once you get it figured out, you'll find it worth the effort. I've been there about a dozen times since they moved, at various times - lunch, dinner, cocktails . . . and it's been bustling every time. I was there one day at 2:30 in the afternoon on a weekday - not exactly prime meal time, and 75% of the tables were full. It looks like someone finally figured out how to make a go of it in this space. It is difficult for me to go to Stokes and not order the steak and mushroom enchiladas. I dream of them at night. They're just spicy enough, just savory enough, and just enough food . . . okay, way MORE than enough . . . to be a very satisfying meal. I always order them thinking "I'll take half of this home because it is way too much for one person to eat at one meal", and I always end up eating the whole thing because they're just so good I can't help myself, and then I go home feeling as if I'd eaten a truck. But they're worth it. Last night I deviated. I tried the pork shoulder with mole sauce, which is a new menu item since the move from Miracle Hills. The pork was juicy, tender and fell apart with my fork. And the mole sauce . . . If I could have ordered a bowl of mole sauce and a big spoon, I would have! My friend ordered the grilled chicken, with garlic cream sauce. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and the cream sauce was garlicky, silky and just the right consistency. There was just enough sauce to flavor the meat without drowning it. Whenever I see meat swimming in sauce in a restaurant, I assume the chef doesn't know how to cook meat, he just knows how to make sauce. Not a problem here. It came with a side of grilled mixed vegetables which she said were wonderful. It was half price wine night. My friend and I shared a bottle of Guilliams Cabernet, which is normally over my price point for a casual evening out, but at half price, it's a steal. It's a great wine. One of many great wines on the wine list. One of my New Year's resolutions is to visit Stokes at least once a month, and to bring home half of my enchiladas. read more
