Stinkweeds is such a cool little record store. My bf showed me this place a couple years ago and we love to stop by every now and then, even if we're not looking for anything in particular. They have good vibes, good music playing, nice employees, and everything is organized so nicely. If you follow their instagram, you can keep up with events they host like listening parties and signings. Today, I bought this Thee Sacred Souls album for $25.

Best record store this side of the Cuyamaca Mountains. Been seeing Lindsay and Kimber here since the 90s and the team is unmatched. They go out of their way for amazing service via social media, phone call or the best way, which is one on one in person. Can't breathe the price because it goes straight into our local pockets. They never make you feel silly or dumb for asking questions, and that's the sign of genuine community.

I love this little place I would rather choose it over tracks and wax just a couple laps East or just around the corner. My first Vinyl coming out of here about 2 months ago was Pete Rock and CL smooth Mecca and the soul brother

Trying to support local record stores during these times and had a great time browsing Stinkweeds! The shop is small but packed with all kinds of records, CDs, cassettes, and even a few books. They have a nice stock of 7"s. Two staff members were there to help but gave you your space and were friendly. During COVID you have two options to shop: curbside pick up or booking a private appointment. For a $10 deposit (that comes off your total) you get 45 mins for you and up to two others to browse during a set time. It was awesome! Not only do you have the shop to yourself but you are staying safe. Masks are required, social distancing is enforced, and hand sanitizer is provided. It was nice to feel a little normal browsing again. I'd definitely recommend checking them out and will return, COVID or not. Thanks Stinkweeds!

Local independent record store worth a visit. Recently renovated. Nice new refresh. Did like the old patio but oh well Decent selection of vinyl as well as some cds and even cassettes. Im very particular and have been to the best record stores in the world but if I look I can find something of interest. Dont expect too much. But hell its my local record store and I will definitely support their effort. I would recommend this shop to everyone. Probably my fave for the Phoenix area but hey its Phoenix so. The best record store I have been to in such a long time! I wish I lived close so I could frequent this place, but we were just driving through on a road trip when we stumbled on Stinkweeds. They have such a wide selection of great music and it was hard to walk out of there without buying the whole place! Although the store is small, it is packed with essentials. Great digs and decent prices! We might have to make a special trip to Phoenix just to visit this record store again. We especially loved the boxes of free vinyls on the way out and grabbed a few. Highly recommend this record store if you're in the area! I'm sure they will have something you're looking for or something you didn't know you needed.

I really love swinging in here anytime I'm in Phoenix. The workers are always incredibly helpful and friendly, and I like that they have a little of everything. Definitely caters to the alt/indie rock scene which is my jam, so I appreciate it. I like that they also have cool merch to buy, as well as record players and accessories. I wasn't able to find the artist I wanted there but the selection seems to rotate pretty quickly. Cool spot!

The In Groove -- A Place That Respects the Music…read more There are record stores, and then there are places that understand what this hobby is really about. The In Groove is the latter. From the moment you walk in, there's a sense of order and intention. The space is clean, organized, and easy to navigate--something that might seem simple on the surface, but in reality reflects a deeper respect for both the music and the people searching for it. You're not digging through chaos. You're exploring a collection that feels cared for. As you move through the bins, that feeling continues. The records aren't just stocked--they're curated. There's a quiet confidence in knowing that what you're flipping through has been chosen, not just accumulated. For someone who values condition, pressings, and the integrity of the music, that matters. It turns browsing into something more deliberate, more enjoyable, and ultimately more rewarding. Along one wall sits a collection of vintage audio gear--amplifiers, receivers, pieces of history that remind you this hobby doesn't end with the record itself. It's about the entire chain--the system, the room, the experience. Seeing those components in that setting connects everything together. Music isn't just something you own. It's something you build around. What stands out most is how easy it is to slow down here. There's no pressure, no rush--just the quiet rhythm of discovery. You find yourself taking your time, paying attention, and reconnecting with why you got into this in the first place. The In Groove isn't just a place to buy records. It's a place that respects the process of listening. And that makes all the difference

A really great selection of all kinds of books, music, video games, and more! Everything here is community-based, with the exception of selections here and there that are brand-new. So a nice way to support buying secondhand items from Phoenix folks, being more sustainable and supporting a smaller business, and overall just a good spot to come explore! I've found lots of cool vintage magazines, vintage video games, some vinyls, and a number of books here on 19th. I definitely recommend this location!

How haven't a written a review of this place!…read more I love an establishment that presents itself as a home for the community. I walk in to Bookman's and often find displays that are Arizona focused in a way that makes you feel and know this place is home town friendly. No big box impersonal feels here! I frequent this store and stop in just because I'm passing by. As an avid reader, I read about 50 books a year, Bookman's is a great place to buy paper books at a cheaper price. My favorite part about local shops like Bookman's is how they don't shy away from displaying banned books all year long! I have to read at least one banned books a month! There's gotta be something in the banned books they don't want us to know and I'm determined to read as many as possible. Interestingly enough, this store is full of "entertainment treasures" too. Music, musical instruments and even gaming equipment can be purchased here. The only thing missing is a social lounge with a coffee bar. We'd probably go even more often if there were a coffee bar inside. Return Factor: 100%
