I stopped by here since I was in the area and needed to get a car inspection done. I pulled up into a parking space behind the shop and went inside to get on the short waitlist. They were able to take my car insurance off of my phone and let me know that I could either wait in my car wait outside (there's a bench). They advertise 10 minute inspections, and they're accurate on that from when they begin inspecting your car, not from when you get on the waitlist. I was able to strike up a brief conversation from a fellow patron and was in and out of there in about 20 min or so during lunch rush on a Wednesday. I was charged $7.00 + $0.50 (credit card fee approved by state), for a total of $7.50. Gas cars have an inspection fee of $18.50 + $0.50 (cc fee). This place is pretty good, it's just that the workers don't come off as friendly. The state government has passed a law earlier this year removing the requirement to get vehicle inspections, which means these workers may lose their jobs next year. read more

Historically, I did not want to go to these type of places, because of my fear that they would try to nickel and dime me to death on bulbs, wiper blades, and other stuff. Nothing could be further from the truth... These folks are great. I have been coming here for the last several years , and could not be happier. Unfortunately, during the holidays and the last day of the month, everyone decides to procrastinate and come at the same time and their waiting room inside only has 3 chairs. There is a single outside picnic table and 2 other chairs outdoors, and the parking lot is tiny, so once spots are out, well, try again later. Other than that, the guys that do their job fast and are extremely helpful and friendly! And they deserve all the praises and business for keeping everything going smoothly! read more

Both of my old vehicle inspection places have closed recently, so I decided to try these guys. I was a little concerned when I got there and saw how many people are waiting, but I've never seen a more efficient crew. My wait was less than 20 minutes and both of the gentleman I spoke to were extremely friendly and pleasant, which is all the more amazing considering how swamped they were. The worst customer service. I went to get my inspection and wasn't able to due this super rude lady working there. You could tell by her demeanor and approach from the get go that she was so miserable that she needed to treat everyone with a nasty attitude. First, she complained about not knowing how to drive stick, then she continued with her nasty attitude when asking for insurance and then her threatened to charge me the $15 and fail the inspection due to super minor dent on a rim ( mind you, that has been there for years and every year this same location has been giving me my inspection and that same dent has been there). At the end of the day, EVEN if the dent was cause for failing, her attitude was totally unnecessary and definitely cause that I'll definitely take my business somewhere else and advise everyone to do the same, unless you want to deal with a Karen. And to the owner, I know you guys are short of staff but with this lady there, you'll soon be with a shortage of customers cuz nobody needs to deal with such a bad attitude. read more

I started bringing my vehicles to sticker stop in 2023, when my regular mechanic no longer did inspections. The team at Sticker Stop has always been professional, friendly, and thorough. I never feel like they are giving me the run around; and when I did have an issue with passing my inspection, they allowed me to jump to the front of the line when I returned with the issue resolved. I was a bit nervous getting my car inspected since it was my first inspection in Austin but hallelujah I passed! So, silly me went during lunch time and I should have known better as there was a bit of a wait. However, they had a nice waiting area with chairs, magazines, water dispenser and a clean bathroom! Oh and they were also selling funsize candy 3 for $1, haha I was just about to cave when they called my name! All in all the inspection was about 10 minutes. I couldn't see all that was being tested but I know for sure my brakes, lights, and something under the hood. I also noticed that they repaired small stuff like signal lights and I think loose sensors for a few bucks. I didn't have any issues so my total damage was $18.50 but yay that I could pay with Apple Pay! Oh! This place is full of con-artist and just want your money. Policy is if you fix your cars failure in 15 days you don't have to pay again. Guy told me tire is bad and tail light it out. I got new tires and couldn't see what tail light is out. Took it back 12 day later. They failed me again due to my seatbelt doesn't "click" every time. Took it somewhere else passed me. When I asked about my tail light and seat belt. That guy informed me those are just easy things they can say " didn't work" but works now. The staff is okay and they do generally inspect my truck rather quickly. I do not like the waiting area. It's very small and the only other place to wait is outside at a picnic table otherwise you have to stand around waiting for them to get to your vehicle. What aggravates me is that they are starting to nickel and dime the customer to death. They charge a 50 cent service fee when you pay by debit card. Really?? I know its not a lot of money, but I still find it extremely annoying when businesses add ridiculous charges like this when no other business that I know of practices this. When I handed him my AAA card, he angrily told me that he needed my insurance card. My mistake. This place is conveniently located off 620. Just be sure to get their early to ensure getting one of the few parking spots. This place gets crowded for a reason; they are good at what they do. It is great to have a place that specializes in state inspections as opposed to other places where you may have to wait hours while people in front of you get extensive maintenance and repairs done. Guys put in on the computer and then told me it stills need to be driven more before "sensors re-set". Still charged me full fee and FAILED the car. Very poor customer service. Crappy attitude too. This place gets you in and out quick for an inspection since it's that they do. Tried going to Jiffy and Tuffy. Jiffy's inspector was not there, and machines were down at two other locations. Tuffy has better things to do and was not accommodating. One thing they could improve on is customer service. Not the happiest and courteous bunch but hey it's an inspection place so you can't expect too much. For the people who complain about waiting, you guys came close to closing or peak times. Expect to get denied or WAIT like anywhere else. It's a 10 minute inspection. They can't help if they are busy. That's not part of the 10 minutes. Give me a break! read more

Came here and received exactly what was advertised - quick inspection with no frills. There was one person in front of me so I was expecting a little wait. You can't expect to wait 10 minutes if there is a line. Attendant was quick and to the point - inspection took less than 10 minutes. Here is the catch, be prepared. You need to have your insurance ready. Don't keep asking if your 20 other forms of identification will work in its place and then get annoyed when the attendant says no. Don't expect special treatment because you drive the bmw and the guy ahead of you drives the Saturn. Also, at this location, don't make eye contact with the Jiffy Lube guys at the corner. They are sharks - it isn't cheaper and it isn't faster after they spend 15 minutes at the check out process trying to sell you stuff. read more

I usually don't ignore stop signs, but I have driven past this place for years without noticing it. My mechanic sent me here because he no longer does inspections, and because the Sticker Stop doesn't do mechanical work. Just the inspection sticker. And when you dread dealing with the hassle of state inspections, like most of us, it's good to know that there's a place like this that can stick to the job at hand without trying to up-sell every expensive service they offer. Because as far as I can tell, they don't offer any other services. You just drive in, they wave you into one of their bays, and they get to work. There were only a handful of people waiting on the days I went, and none of us waited long. That sure beats some of my previous experiences at other shops, where I've been made to wait hours, come back later, come back another day, or if it's the last day of the month and they're snippy, sent hunting desperately for a shop that isn't so strained and proud . I'm sure you've had some of those, too. Both times I've taken cars here, they've been thoroughly inspected and out in 15 minutes, and I was treated with "Yes, ma'am" politeness. I give them extra points because they carefully removed my previous sticker and all the leftover glue before attaching the new one. Years of built-up sloppy glue from the stack of window stickers we have to sport here in Texas can impair one's vision. And it just underscores their attention to detail. Are y'all kidding me Sticker Stop? My husband went in to get our inspection to get our sticker renewed. It's June, it's Texas. And it's hot as hell outside. Bc of COVID, only the front desk was open, only 2 ppl were allowed in at a time, and you had to wait outside while your car was looked at. My husband went in at 10:30AM, and stood outside outside in the TEXAS HEAT for 2.5 HOURS waiting! When I called him and told him that this was ridiculous and to just tell them that he'd come back another time, it turned out that the inspection had been completed on our car OVER AN HOUR AGO and NOBODY told him it was done! Are you kidding me? When he came home he was dehydrated and had to drink electrolytes and rest bc y'all couldn't be bothered to tell him our car inspection was done over an hour prior to him approaching a staff member and asking. Yes, I am livid! What the hell! Especially now, that temps are rising and the lobby is closed off, y'all need to figure out a way to keep your customers comfortable during the extreme weather. That, and, oh I don't know, remember to tell people when their cars are done so they aren't waiting around for 2.5 hours in 90 degree heat and wasting their entire morning! read more

The customer service was awful. When I went inside I thought I had update insurance, I brought papers inside. My phone was still loading for my insurance. I thought maybe he could get started on filling it out till my phone loaded. Instead he aggressively flung my papers back at me and said these are useless to me. It was actually frightening the way he spoke to me and did this. His name was Rob I think. I suggest finding another location. Plenty of places have that same price. I have been in Austin all my life and this is the best place I have been to for an inspection. I went to the Burnet Road location in the middle of the day at the end of the month, and still got in and out. (I have waited for hours at other businesses.) They have picnic tables if you want to wait outside with your child or have a pet with you. Could not have been easier! read more

I'm giving a 1 because it won't let me give zero. Why? Well. Went there yesterday. 530 pm. They had 4 cars in the parking lot. The "tech" watches me stop. Park. Turn car off get out. Tug on door. Then I go to him and he says he's not taking any more inspections. Ok - that makes sense. 10 minute inspection is what the sign says. It's 530 and they have more than 3 cars. No big deal. I'll come back I come back today. 525. 1 car he's doing, 1 car parked. He watches me park AGAIN. Exit vehicle AGAIN. Walk to the door AGAIN. Door is unlocked. I walk inside. I sit there for 5 minutes. Then a CUSTOMER tells me he's not taking any more AGAIN. I go out the door, and he confirms. really? Your own sign says 10 minutes. 1 car he's doing. 1 in the lot. Why no more? And to make it worse HE LITERALLY WATCHES ME EXIT THE VEHICLE AND GO THROUGH THIS. HE CANT EVEN BOTHER TO STOP ME IN THE LOT, OR AT LEAST ON THE WAY TO THE DOOR. He'd rather waste my time. I guess that's what your company does. Wastes peoples time. Your company isn't worth the "convenience".
