As advertised -- got my vintage car inspected and back on the road in about 10 minutes (that road happens to be 620, past Lakeline Mall, not the suburb show in the map preview). I ended up here when Anderson Mill Inspection was randomly closed, but hadn't updated the voicemail (with a paper sign taped on the very closed gate, sigh). I've had cars inspected here for years, and every time it's been around 10-15 minutes for the actual inspection, but if there are a lot of people you might have to wait. Be reasonable! Of course if you come on a Saturday afternoon or something and there are tons of people and barely any parking, it's probably gonna be more than ten minutes. These guys are fast but thorough. They can only do so much and they wanna make sure you're not driving around in a screaming metal deathtrap. The latest car that I brought to be inspected luckily had no wait, but the nice guy that helped me was super friendly, upbeat, smiling, and the entire experience was just pleasant. I had forgotten my phone in the car (I'm forgetful) and he made sure to lock it up and bring me the keys when he was done. He made no mention of my car blaring upbeat pop music at him, which was kind too. Before I left, he rushed out to hand me some papers I had forgotten behind. These places don't do a super complex service, but everything about it was great and I'll definitely keep coming back. read more

I imagine working in a car inspection station is stressful. No one is happy to be there. And with Texans having a pretty big anti-government streak, I imagine a lot of people see these guys as an extension of bureaucracy and not a way to keep our roads just a bit safer. So I doubt on the best of days they get a lot of positive feedback. Well, my car failed inspection. The technician came in, had all the paperwork ready, and explained that my gas cap was leaking and so my old Honda had flunked. He let me know exactly where to get a replacement, and assured me I could come in once I got a replacement and they'd get me out of their as quickly as possible. Professional, friendly, and polite. I went back today just in time to see someone else fail. "Your driver's side brake light's out - everything else's fine" the driver was told. "You can see for yourself - we have bulbs for $3.95 or you can get one down the street for a buck cheaper." Again, very polite, professional. The driver was happy to get the bulb and get on his way. And me and my fresh gas cap was cleared a few minutes later. These guys are fast, professional, accurate, and doing a good job in a pretty thankless biz. You couldn't ask for better. read more

I went in at 2:15 on a Wednesday afternoon five days before the end of the month. The inspector ran my credit card at 2:29:09 so it took 14 minutes to get my inspection which is great in my opinion. The facility was clean including the bathroom and the inspectors were professional and courteous. What I liked most? No selling of any kind. I hate to go to an auto repair shop for an auto inspection because most often you have to listen to a pitch on auto maintenance or repair. Nothing like that here. The Sticker Stop is a State Auto Inspection business. That's what they do and they do it well. I'll be back next year. read more

A fantastic spot for your car registration. Nothing fancy, tiny waiting area with like 5 seats, but they really get you in and out fast. Needed to get mine done midday on a Saturday and feared the worst as I figured there'd be a long line. I had like 5 people ahead of me, but they still got me in and out in less than 30 minutes, and the actual inspection takes about 10 minutes. Had a burned out brake light, and they replaced it for just a few bucks saving me the hassle of doing it myself and having to look up the proper bulb number and having to hunt it down. I've been here a few times now, and always have good service and will continue to go back. read more

5 stars because they have perfected what car inspection should be -- cheap, quick, and easy. This place is all of the above. They quote their inspection times to be 10 minutes, and they've met that goal both times I've been there. They don't try and sell you things you don't need *cough jiffy lube*, and if you don't pass inspection due to something cheap like a headlight bulb, they sell it to you without charging a premium or convenience fee. On a Friday afternoon, I was pretty frustrated with Jiffy Lube and Pep Boys BOTH saying, "Uhhhhh, you just missed our inspection guy. He went home for the day." At 3:00 PM on a weekday. How convenient. Translation: We don't make that much money off of inspections and don't want to do it. I then found Sticker Shop on Yelp and it was only a 5 minute drive. I popped over, gave my keys and insurance card to the nice guy, and headed to the gas station to get a Kind bar (I was pretty hangry at this point). By the time I was a third of the way through the Kind bar, my car was ready. I happily paid my $18ish and went home. This place is easy, quick, and no BS. I highly recommend it. read more

This place is exactly what it advertises to be- a sticker stop for state inspections. No nonsense, no luring with coupons, no lies about the wait time and the inspection itself was about 10-12 minutes long. Note that WAIT and ACTUAL INSPECTION times are totally different Scenarios. There may be a wait to get your inspection depending on the day of the month or even the time of day. I was in and out in 20 minutes, which means my car took 10 minutes to get out of line and into the inspection. The staff knows exactly what they're doing so there is no dilly dallying just because "it's an inspection" like a few other auto service stations. (I have waited an hour at a jiffy lube because my car was there for an inspection and not an oil change.) The standard rate is $18.75 , procedure is simple- park your car, walk in, show your insurance and wait till your car comes out. The end. This review will be based on my service today, 1/7. Recently moved from Virginia and needed to transfer my car over and become resident. Everyone knows how much of a hassle it is with emissions testing but these guys made it so easy. I was in and out in 20minutes. Helpful staff and knowledgable about what I need to do next. Previous I showed up 1/6 to get my car done, and the girl at the front desk was not very nice. She was angry that I didn't have my Texas state insurance on my car yet, as I had just moved. My insurance company did not tell me anything within regards so I had to come back. I was reluctant to go back, but I am glad I did and did not have to deal with the same person. read more

It was even raining out when I arrived and I believe one other person was in front of me. I read a couple of these reviews and please note the inspection time is 10 minutes. Not the wait time. I arrived at 7:30 AM. My car was in the inspection bay by 7:32 AM. I sat down, had a cup of cold water, and watched Nobody's Fool in the waiting room, which is an excellent film. Was hopeful going to a business that all they did was state inspections. Disappointed to see half the staff on their phones in the office while numerous customers came in without being waited on. Still was optimistic that I shouldn't judge if their employer is fine with that. My tech performed his job OK but the most critical step getting the information entered into the state database was an epic fail. After several attempts to renew my registration online, determined that I was not even in the system. Called the shop and was told to go to the "DMV" to get my car's registration. No offer or attempt to fix the problem and get me in the system. read more

Nice associates, but you'll probably wait 20 minutes to be seen. I came once in the middle of the day, and it was a 40 min. wait. Came again in the morning around 8am and it was still a 20 min. wait. Given that they only do inspections, I was expecting a shorter wait, but as long as you expect it coming in, it's not that bad. read more

It's a crappy experience to drive about an hour both ways through traffic just to learn that you guys don't get the concept of a closing time. They perform auto inspections exactly as advertised - within 10 minutes. They are not a repair shop, so they do not try to flunk you to get repair business. They even accept credit cards. There is a Gatti's Pizza next door, if you want to get some pizza while they inspect your car..but since they are so quick, they will likely be done inspecting your car before you finish your pizza. They have a picnic table out back to sit at to have your meal if you so choose, or you can wait inside. The inspection technician was very nice and efficient. After being informed of the wait I decided to drive down the road to Alan's. They saw me immediately and had me out the door in less than ten minutes. So first time I came they did an inspection, they told me my front windows were too dark, ok that's all they told me what I needed to fix. Went to get it fixed right away, Windows now at legal tint, went back to get it inspected and the rep wrote on the paper DO NOT ROLL DOWN WINDOWS BECAUSE OF NEW TINTING. So the rep who started the inspection apparently can't read cause he had my window rolled down, and then he told me now, (a different person than last) that my windshield visor was too low. Wow well thanks for not telling me the first time so I could of gotten it done when I had to redo my windows. Definitely lost my business. read more

My first time going to this place. Was referred by a friend who takes her car there. Walked in and there were three workers two of them stayed in the office and they were talking about a movie. Then one of them says to me , let me have your insurance card and keys. Rude.. didn't say Hello, didn't introduce himself went to inspect my car comes back and says it's not gonna pass your tint is to dark. I tell him My car has passed for three years now at a reputable automotive business who has the BBB approval. He proceeded to say well maybe they don't care if they break the law.
