Showed him the app that had my policy. He was kind enough to escort me to their waiting area. Another gentleman came in to collect my contact information and discuss different aspects of my car due to its age/mileage. Great and comfortable conversation. A 3rd gentleman came in the office to let me know my car was completed and collected payment. Was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Talk about service! I came in this morning for a state vehicle inspection. It was a fantastic experience. Ryan, the technician, wore a mask at all times. The whole facility including the lobby was immaculate. And they had the whole inspection done in less than 15 minutes. Ryan was very friendly and professional. I always have a bit of anxiety going into these inspections that I will be upsold for things I don't need, especially when I know these shops are hurting for business during the pandemic. Not the case here. I was treated like a valued customer. I'll be back for more services in the future based on how well I was treated today. read more

I have 2 vehicles due inspections and oil changes. My Impala was first. It had a reverse light out they were able to fix immediately. I drive this car rarely and had not had an oil change since last year. Zack, the assistant manager told me the oil was still good and only charged me for the inspection and light bulb replacement. I thanked Zack for his honesty. He told he treats his customers the same way he would like to be treated. My pick-up truck was next. I got the oil changed. It also passed inspection. There were on other issues. I found out they do full mechanic work. I will be taking both vehicles to Zack in the future. read more

Andy is a boss. He put the brakes (that i bought myself from a third party vendor) in on both axles for my 2016 GLE AMG S in less than 3 hours. The job was only $250 total for both axles (everyone else quoted me minimum of 1100 and as high as 3200). This guy is the best. While i was waiting, I even saw him stop for a sec while working, go to a car that just drove up to get air in a tire, and helped him get on his way for free in less than 5 minutes. Good dude. Took my 2001 Suburban in for a state inspection at a little after 8 am and was told the inspector wouldn't be on site until 9 am. Left that day. Returned a few days later and got it into the inspection bay, only for it to fail twice. Their inspection machine couldn't read my suburban even though last year's inspection was done here and it passed. This took two hours. They didn't charge me for the inspections which was nice of them. Took the suburban to Motorman repair shop and John found nothing wrong. He recommended I take it to Little shop of automotive and it passed inspection in 10 mins. If you have an old vehicle be leery of Kwik Kar Round Rock. I have been coming here for years and got great service, but I won't be back. read more

We got an old fashioned scam mechanic here. They drive you car in for you and quickly drain and replace your oil. It's so fast, they don't e en ask you what type you want! Then when you're wondering when their going to ask, he tells you we already started it. And best part, ready, here it comes....they don't have any regular oil. THAT's right folks! No regular oil after he already drained your old oil. Wow! Just like National Lampoons Vacation. Now instead of $30 you're paying $80! AVOID until they go out of business. read more

I have visited this location thrice now and I am very happy with their service. The first time was for getting rotors and brake pad replaced. The reason I chose to do it from this place was because they gave me a reasonable and affordable quote. The customer service is pretty good and Ken was very helpful. The did a great job and so far I don't have any complaints. The second time I wanted to get my wipers replaced. A tiny part was broken so I couldn't do it myself. They had a perfect tool for it. And it was very helpful. The third time was to get my car checked before a long road trip. It was like a overall quick look and it was helpful since I was skeptical about my brakes. Went in to have my car inspected yesterday as I have been a customer of theirs for over 20 years. However, after the poor treatment provided to me yesterday, I will never return. When I drove up, a staff member approached me and told me it would be about 30 minutes because he had one vehicle he was currently working on. No problem, so I waited. Then 15 minutes later a truck drove up for an inspection and the same staff member told him he could take next after he finished the car he was working on. I asked what about me, since I was there first? He just ignored me and drove the other customer's truck into the bay. During these times it would seem to be poor judgement to lose a long time customer because a staff member cannot organize two cars in the right order or just decides to totally disregard customers. I do not like writing this but after what I found when my stepson and I changed the oil in my Toyota Tundra, I felt compelled to send this critique in order to give the owners of this business the opportunity to know the quality of technicians they have employed. It may help them to avoid lawsuits as the errors we discovered could have lead to a catastrophic failure of the engine in my truck which would have cost thousands of dollars, and depending upon when and where the failure occurred, could have put my family in a dangerous situation as our country has many locations in which it is not safe to be at any time of day or night. The background is I took my Tundra into the Kwik Kar Lube at 406 W. Austin Ave in Round Rock last fall to get the oil & filter changed as I was in a hurry. I also changed from regular to synthetic oil as the truck had about 75k miles so I was willing to pay a premium under the circumstances which ended up being over $100. At first, I thought all went well though as I found out on March 28, 2020, when my stepson & I changed the oil & filter ourselves, I was lucky I did not have a major failure as you will see. The first clue something was wrong was when we were taking the splash shield off we noticed that all 3 of the screws that should have been securing the plastic guards mounted to the outside of the splash shield were missing so the guard was just stuffed inside the shield rather than being located on the outside and secured with screws. I was not told the screws were missing when Kwik Kar changed the oil which, had they told me in the beginning, I would have understood and made arrangements to buy the 3 screws and mount the guard properly later, but they did not tell me. Then we noticed that rather than there being 5 bolts holding the splash shield on, there were only 3! At this point I was beginning to have doubts about the job the techs performed as the 12mm bolts perform a significant task for if that shield should drop down, it could catch on something then possibly rip something else off the truck causing greater damage. Now I was not happy for this was unacceptable and I there was no excuse for them not telling me that TWO bolts were missing, for they are there for an important reason . Now there is a possibility that the bolts were there but the tech did not tighten them at all so they vibrated out, but that is not good either as that is poor workmanship. Either way, at that point I was really unhappy, but it just went from bad to worse as you will see. When my stepson tried to loosen the drain plug bolt, he discovered that the bolt was so tight in the oil pan that he had to really struggle with both hands to break the bolt free. Bear in mind he is in his mid 30's and just completed an intensely physical course at the TEEX Fire Fighting Academy at Texas A&M where they had really hard PT every day for 10 weeks, so for him to struggle to break the bolt loose tells me that it was way too tight as the torque specs are only 30 ft-lbs. Then on inspecting the bolt, we found that there was NO WASHER on the bolt at all which is absolutely unacceptable. We moved on to the filter and found the oil filter drain plug was overly tight as well. Bear in mind the torque spec on this plus is only 108 IN-lbs or 9 Ft-lbs which is very little force, though it too took two hands to loosen. After draining the oil from the housing, my stepson used a digital torque wrench to remove the filter cap though when he reached 39 Ft-lbs, the cap hat not even budged so he took the torque meter off and used two hands on the wrench to break the cap loose. The torque spec for the filter cap is only 25Nm which is on 18 Ft-lbs which again is a low value so it should not have been difficult to break loose but as with the other two parts we had to remove, it took a serious effort to force the part off. As one more piece of information, my stepson has built drag racing engines from the block up including crank, cams, turbos, fuel injection systems, fuel rails, and everything else having to do with complete engine rebuilding, so he is very knowledgeable about engines, tools, and how to properly use torque wrenches and how to assess when something has not been properly applied. When we took the oil filter cap off, we saw that one of the tines on the cap which are used to loosen and tighten the cap had been partially broken off, and although I cannot prove who broke it, given all the many things we observed that we know where done by the Kwik Kar tech, it could very easily have been that during their attempt to overtighten the cap, their wrench slipped and broke the tine. The point of all this is I hope the Kwik Kar owners will use my comments as a means to improve the quality control of the service they provide to their customers. I know I will never go back to their shop after what I saw, though I cannot tell others what to do nor is this an attempt to do so. read more

I wish I could leave ten stars. This shop is a group of tight-knit guys who work like it's a family-owned business and you'll get treated like a VIP just for being there. In my experience, Ken knew exactly what was wrong with my Ford even just from hearing the problem over the phone and ordered the part for me on the spot. I was able to have my car fixed in ten minutes, while Ken patiently explained the problem with the part in a way that I could easily understand. When that was fixed they went above and beyond to fill my tires up with air (the light had just come on) and melt the ice off my side mirrors. Honestly these guys have earned my business for the rest of the time I live in Austin, and this isn't even my closest auto shop. Especially if you have a Ford, I'd highly recommend this location! read more

I love this place. They do a really quick oil change and inspection and have always treated me well. It's hard to be a woman in an auto shop, and they don't speak to me like I'm stupid and are always very helpful. I went in not too long ago because my brakes were squeaking and I thought I needed new ones (yike$). But they looked at them and said they still had plenty of life in them, the people who put them on *cough, looking at you NTB* just put cheap parts in and they would clean them up for me. I really appreciated that they didn't try to install all new brakes when the ones I had turned out to be perfectly fine. Anyway, this is a very non-threatening, friendly place for women. I went here recently since the Walmart always seems completely full every time I go. The walmart made me sit for at least five minutes and no one even came to my car to service me. I decided to go elsewhere closer to home and wandered into Kwik Kar. In no time the attendant came out, set me up for a standard oil change and was very prompt. I didn't ask the price and didn't care, I don't want to change my own oil, toss is out, life my car...etc. In the end it took all of thirty minutes and they charged me maybe $10 more than I would pay at Walmart. The attendant told me that at some point in the future I would want to change my transmission fluid as it was turning brown but put no pressure on me to do so immediately. I like when mechanics or auto folks let me know what's going on but don't pressure me to buy things. I'll go here again, the extra $10 was worth it. read more

These guys went above and beyond! We stopped in for an oil change before a long road trip and they ended up helping us locate a tricky fuse. After my brother dropped a different fuse into the engine block (yikes!), they pulled the car back in the shop to help us find it. They ultimately went to an auto parts store to get us two additional fuses and replaced them both at no charge. They even honored a $5 off coupon, even though we were at a different location. This was a disappointing experience. I am one that used to change the oil on my own vehicles and had give them their own annual tune ups. However, with all the used oil disposal rules, it has just become easier to have someone change the oil for you. So, I require a shop that serves the customer without trying to sell useless add ons. I certainly do not need someone trying to lie about the vehicle. Ford recommends an oil change for my aged vehicle every 5,000 miles. So, I went in this time about 5,000 since my last change, even though my reminder sticker was set for a 3,000 mile change. They took my truck in and drained the oil. I know they did as I saw the mechanic in the service bay under the truck do the draining. About five minutes later, the manager came and asked to talk with me near the truck and informed me that he had pulled the dipstick and that it was dry. (Um...maybe because the oil had already been drained from it 5 minutes beforehand). Then explained that the engine burned up the oil because i had driven it for 5,000 miles instead of changing it at 3,000. Then tried to upsell me on an engine flush to remove the oil that had been "baked" in there for all that time i had driven without oil. (Apparently, he is unaware that if there is no oil in your engine, the vehicle will forcibly stop you from driving around like that....and give you thousands of dollars in repair bills). It was my lucky day though....that upsell service happened to be on sale when I was there. I couldn't believe my luck!!! (Tongue implanted in cheek). I declined the service naturally. There is no leak in my vehicle and nothing that would have eaten up 7 quarts of oil in the vehicle without there being some signs that were not present with my vehicle. The manager was just trying to make an extra $30 off me. I would normally give this type of place 1 star because the manager was dishonest, but the worker that they had checking people in was very nice and competent. It is unfortunate that he is working there than at a more reputable place. BEWARE!!! read more

This place was 'kwik' LMAO -can't say the same for the car wash location off of Old settlers.. but that will be my next review lol- like I said went in and out and got a free car wash. I am 8 months pregnant with a 2 kiddo...I pulled up and asked for the Ultimate Car Wash. It is suppose to come with vacuuming of the inside, car wash, wax, windows, tire shine, door jams wiped...all of it...what I got was a car wash and vacuumed floor mats. I ended up cleaning my own hubcaps, wiping down the interior, re-vacuuming the car due to food still being on the floors, cleaning the seats...I'm not even sure what they did.
