dirty hand covered in oil from my steering wheel
    Natalia H.

*AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE* Well I brought my vehicle here the first time to get the alternator replaced and all went well so I decided to bring the vehicle back for more repairs . Plus they have a cat and I love cats ... Let's just say I drove the vehicle there running and within 2 days the car had to be towed out of there . I made a tiktok video of the whole experience and i'll try to share the link below . If I am unable to share the link just look it up with my name and you'll find it. So in the first video you'll see I am picking the car up from the business after the harmonic balancer was supposedly " fixed" and I record the sounds before driving it off the lot after hours. I call the next morning and they said to bring it back at 10am . Well before I am able to bring it back the car breaks down. I show in pictures and video that everything was still intact except the belt. I then towed the vehicle back to them. After they look at the vehicle they said the AC compressor was dangling basically by a thread and that 3 of the 4 bolts had broken off into the block . That is untrue considering I took many pictures of the ac compressor just moments before the tow truck came to get my vehicle and it was still intact. I couldn't afford to fix the car because the price was unknown and they couldn't promise they would be successful in attempting to fix the car. The worst part (besides the car not being able to run and that the car smelt like cigarettes and was covered in oil) is that when I had the car towed back home the ac compressor was not secured and was dangling to the ground . I had car parts in my front seat and they kept my hardware(bolts) from the ac compressor which are hard to find because my car is 17 years old . I believe they kept the bolts on purpose so I wouldn't have evidence. I sent my ex up there while they were working on the car and he said the bolts looked like it was cut at a 45 degree angle . Bolts dont just break like that . I will be calling today to get my bolts back or they can buy new bolts . Either way I need the hardware . I ended up having to buy a new car . *LADIES DONT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE . ESPECIALLY IF YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CARS * I should have went to our family mechanic but he is all the way in Austin off Lamar . Im sure the business will reply with some smart ass comment trying to defend themselves. Their mistake cost me $12,600 in the end and trust me when I say I didn't have it hence why my car is 17 years old . Always take pictures and videos of your journey when going anywhere . Paper trail is always good to have as evidence because with mechanics it's their word against yours . The pictures are in order and captioned . As for the videos of the sounds you'll see that on the tiktok video . https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8YpcwMg/

Crappy shops are a thing of the past for me, but I still hear the horror stories from those whom I've not yet rescued by pointing them to Jerry's. QUALITY. I've never had to return a car to Jerry's because they got it wrong. They understand the problem and work through the options with you before they start the repair; then the result comes out perfect every time! This is what you would expect from any shop that wants your business, but that is definitely not the case. Many other mechanics hide how confounded they are with your car's issue, or they perform a repair that fails or has to be redone soon after. I've never had that hassle with Jerry's. Never. PRICE. Jerry's prices do not raise your suspicions. And, they will help you with 'get by' repairs if that is all you need at the time. HUMANITARIANS. More than a great price for a repair you can trust, the folks at Jerry's care about you. Todd and Charlie (maybe others in the staff) are veterans with good educations and superb mechanic skills who are running a family-owned shop that intends to keep customers coming back for generations.

I mean going the extra mile for you would be an understatement!! They are very well organized but do yourself a favor and book yourself an appointment. (Their schedule can fill up fast and I can see why) Five stars is the least that I could get this business !

Beware of Mobile Auto Clinic. They will drop you like a lead balloon…read more In March 2025, my check engine light came on. I searched and searched for a mobile mechanic, read through tons of reviews. Mobile Auto Clinic was highly reviewed, so I reached out to them for service. I was really excited when they could show up the day that I got ahold of them. GGreat service! Looking at the check engine code, they determined that it was something wrong with my evap system. They replaced a part in my evap system, I am not mechanic, so can't remember what part that was on their first visit, but the cost was around $140. They assured me that the problem was fixed. Well, it wasn't fixed. My check engine light came back on. I got a hold of them and they decided to replace Fuel Evaporative Canister for $488.21. They told me that all should be good to go. We'll, it wasn't. My check engine light came back on. There were a few other visits trying to determine what was going on. In those visits, one of there mechanics told me to put Vaseline on my gas cap- said that maybe it was a seal issue with my gas tank. Tried that, check engine light came back on. There were a couple of other visit fees, I even drove from SW Austin to their shop to have my truck smoked, they said that they could only do it at the shop. They didn't find any issues in the smoke test, but I do have another invoice for 555.77 for Replace Canister Purge Valve and Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor. Again they said that problem should be fixed. Again, check engine light came back on. Next thing they did was Replace Purge Line Going to Evap Solenoid for $499.35. Again, problem fixed. Nope check engine light came back on. They came back out a couple more times- replaced some seals or something. Totally fixed this time. Nope, nope, nope. Check engine light came back on. I texted the mechanic, Ben Barchuh, to let him know that light was back on. He said that he talked to some gmc mechanics or something, and that they said that we should just replace the rest of the evap system. I told Ben that I was nervous about that cost because I am really financially strapped right now. I asked for a quote for the rest of the system before we did the work. He said that he would get it over to me, but, in the meantime, I could just clear the check engine light myself. I have no idea how to do that! We'll, it has been weeks without hearing back from Ben even though I have sent him multiple texts. I contacted the shop to let them know that Ben hadn't gotten back with me. They said that they would have him touch base with me. Still nothing weeks later. I have now been trying to get ahold of the shop, and they have stopped responding to me. Not good business. It is now the end of May 2026 and my check engine light is still on. More than a year working with them and still not fixed. I have been patient, nice, easy to work with, understanding. I've tipped the mechanics a few times on top of labor and parts costs. I'm not sure what I did to them to have them completely ghost me. Apparently, when they can't fix something and you tell them that you are broke, you are a worthless customer to them. Really makes me feel like garbage. So it seems I'm not a good enough customer for them. I really was trusting them to fix the issue- I thought that they were experts. I guess not. When they can't fix something, they completely disappear. It's unfortunate because I really liked everyone that I worked with there. I had no problem giving them the chance to fix my vehicle because they seemed so honest and kind. Stupid me. Like I said at the beginning of this review, I chose Mobile Auto Clinic because they had great reviews. It seems like many have had great experiences with them. I thought that I was having a great experience with them until they ghosted me. Very disappointing. I know that I am just one person, but maybe folks will read this to help them decide whether or not to do business with Mobile Auto Clinic. At the end, it's your decision, but this has been my experience with them. I was hoping to be a long-term customer with them, but that has been blown up. It was impressed on me that these repairs were critical for safety. The person on the phone even made comments about how glad they were that we were safe as the brakes were metal on metal, etc.The written estimate that arrived was much higher and still had these things listed as critical along with a few smaller issues. When I requested an itemized breakdown and compared parts prices to AutoZone retail, I found parts were marked up over 2x retail across the board. When I called to ask about this, prices dropped immediately without any additional information from me. It took them over night to send the original estimate but the new one arrived within minutes of my texting. I ultimately approved only the wheel bearing and lug stud repair and negotiated the price down. The actual safety critical item, one lug nut holding the wheel on, was buried after the full upsell menu was presented. Several items were listed as critical on that quote that they later said were not actually critical. I posted anonymously in a local group asking for honest mechanic recommendations. The owner identified me by my comments, I guess, and referenced my vehicle publicly to signal he knew who I was. I feel as if this might have been an attempt to get me to remove my anonymous post. Multiple other folks in the comments described identical experiences including false "metal on metal" urgency that softened the moment they pushed back. The work was done and we picked up the car this morning. The process to get to that point was frustrating. Since I only see good reviews I wanted to offer another perspective. The staff is very nice and the banter when we came in was fun. But nice is not the same as honest. I would advise anyone using this place to check retail prices of parts. And since they always offer better prices with push back, everyone who deals with them should question their prices. Some labor costs were good and some were listed at the high end for the area but not ridiculously so. The biggest price "padding" was in the parts themselves. The work seems good at this time, if you want to pay extra for parts in order to be treated nice in a fancy waiting room, I suppose it's worth it to pay more for that service but it's a nah from us. Thanks.
