We referred our daughter to D&H after her car had to be towed and they went above and beyond. Our Honda CRV they worked on a couple days before AC stopped cooling. I mentioned it to them and since we were already there picking up our daughter's car. The owner looked at it and started working on it right away. I was looking forward to trying a new car place. I called to get a quote for a tune up on my vehicle. I was told between $200-$250 which is reasonable. Today when I got the call that my car was ready for pick up the total went up to $600. I called and spoke with Slavko and he took $100 off. If the price is going to be drastically different you should call the customer and let them know before you do the work. I spent $250 over my budget without as much as a text message! As someone who has wrenched on my own vehicles most of my life it's a blessing to have found someone who cares for his customers vehicles as he would his own. He's a busy guy and the shop stays pretty booked but that should tell you something about the quality of his work. He's a straight-shooter and has always walked me through everything before hand to make sure I understand what he's talking about and why he's making each recommendation. So far he's replaced the fuel tank, sending unit and carburetor on my 82 F-250 and swapped the transmission fluid and engine oil on my 17 Grand Cherokee. Tried this repair shop for the first time after reading the reviews. Absolutely no regrets. Had a defective gas cap that would not let me refill gas, as it kept turning without uncapping. Without delay Flo removes the piece that needed a replacement. Slavko, the owner, arrives and we get introduced. Without hesitation he offers to order the gas cap for me, recommending the original over the generic. I was at the shop at 2pm. Slavko tells me to come back to pick up the replacement part at 4pm, not the next day but in 2 hours! I was amazed. Arriving back at the shop, one of the mechanics tries out the gas cap. It gets stuck like the defective one. He recommended we wait for Slavko to look at the issue. Even before Slavko arrives Flo drops his job to take a look at the problem. He grabs a couple of tools to straighten one of the stoppers that gets the gas cap stuck. He solves the problem. Slavko arrives from a test drive to look at my repair. He then, without hesitation, attaches the gas cap cable to the proper place so that the gas cap is safe from accidental fall off. The old one did not have the cable anymore. Here is the kicker. I was expecting an expensive fee and was happily surprised by a super reasonable total. After giving a generous tip I still felt more than content with my spending. The 5 stars from everyone else says it all. AND If you are new in the area and are looking for a place to trust with your vehicle, D & H is the place. Brought my 2006 Ford Explorer in because it wasn't shifting. The owner Slavko performed a computer diagnositic on it and let me know that I was having transmission problems, which he showed me was common for the Explorer due to some design flaws. The repair was going to require reboring the transmission and he did not have the equipment to handle it. Believe it or not, he wasn't even going to charge me for the review and was going to allow me to leave my truck at his place until I could fins another shop. As I was leaving to find a transmission shop, Slavko said he would check out his sources to see if he could find a new transmission and get me the prices to see if it would be cheaper to replace the transmission instead of repairing it. As it so happens, Slavko was able to find a new transmission that had a three year, 100,000 mile warranty and it ended up being cheaper to go the replacement route than the repair route. I was more than happy with Slavko's work and customer service and would recommend him to anyone. It is not every day you can find a mechanic that actually wants to help you out and earn your business instead of trying to rip you off. read more

DO NOT trust this repair shop. I was having issues (what felt like misfiring. now I know just probably needed a good tune-up). Guy said timing chains, not 1, but all 3 timing chains needed to be replaced, mind you the car had only 89,000 miles on it and it great shape otherwise. I wasn't quite sure of this diagnosis because the car was actually running, but I didn't know what else to do. The guy was super nice so I thought he should know! He's the mechanic! I was running out of time and options so I got it repaired against my, and everyone else's better judgement. $2500!!!!!!! Next time the check engine light came on... took it back.. The guy said it was my fuel pump and that it would cost $1500. My car was in fact running, so I knew he was full of crap. I was advised to get my battery replaced so I did that and car ran fine for a good long while. Check engine light comes on AGAIN! I take it to a different mechanic and he asks if I've had any major work done to it, I say, "YES. Timing chains". Apparently D&H never updated my computer so it was throwing all kinds of codes bc the computer had never been updated! Here we are 5 years later, no fuel pump ever needed to be replaced, and I'm pretty sure the timing chains never needed to be touched either. I've learned a lot owning this car that now has 150,000 miles on it and runs like a cream puff. Just needed a trustworthy mechanic! read more
