Slavko is my hero. When it comes to not having a/c in Austin Tx, your car can become a literal oven, which can bring on symptoms of dizziness, lightheaded, road rage all in about 10 seconds. I've had mechanics at a highly rated shop in south austin try to fix my air right before the end of summer. Cost $300 for labor and plugs, iodine freon, worked great for 1-2 weeks. I Took it back. They said there was iodine everywhere and most likely I needed a new compressor. Estimate $1500. So I figured I'd wait out the rest of summer and winter and wait till spring. Spring has arrived!! NO AIR...where do I go.... SLAVKO!! He was recommended to me by a close friend. I took it to him he said "yes it does appear that you need a new compressor." Words I didn't want to hear, however when I asked the price..... "$638" ( quite a bit less than what the other shop wanted to charge) so I set up appointment for it to be done from 9-4 the next day. I dropped it off and he called at four complete and ready to be picked up! Start it up dun-dun-da. Refreshing cool air blasting from my vents!!! Couldn't be happier. And that's not all about an hour later I recieved a follow up call. "Was the air cold enough for you? We drove it around locally but I know driving it on the highway can change it a little. I took my BMW 325i to Slavko for 3 years, I have trusted him with my CLK55AMG for the past 2 and my Hummer. He has never overcharged or charged me without telling me what is going on. Took my toyota sequioa to get new belt and tensioner pulley installed. His price was 500 less than Firestone. He is honest and it wasn't as hard of a job as Firestone said it was. Plus Firestone wanted money up front to order the part they said would take 2 days to come in. I called slavko at 9 in the morning told him what I needed is only 12:30 same day and my truck is fixed. Had Slavko replace valve cover gaskets on my 1999 Toyota Sienna yesterday. I do a good deal of work on my own cars. He's the best in the area for engine work! Honest and dependable. Price is right on. I brought my own spark plugs and he changed all of them at no charge. This is a hard job on a Sienna V6 because of how the engine is mounted - but he suggested I have this done while the valve cover gaskets were being changed. It so happened I had the plugs in my office and dropped them off to him. He's changed the timing belt on this same van previously and done an excellent job. I highly recommend Slavko for his honestly, skill, timely manner and peace of mind. We'll be taking my wife's BMW there this next week for a similar job. read more

He's factual and never gives you the fear inducing scenarios other mechanics love to give customers. He is the ONLY mechanic I've ever felt comfortable enough with to go to by myself. After taking my car to 3 different shops, Slavko was the only one who was smart enough to fix my car and willing to take the time to do it. The other shops (including the dealership) told me it would be over $2500 and probably still not be fixed - he told me it was a wiring issue that would take time to find the source of the problem. I don't usually write these reviews but had to share a really positive experience I had at D&H. Slavco is honest and does excellent work. I've been to many mechanics that try to "up-sell" me and were, quite honestly, rude. I had a terrible experience at another shop (I won't even mention the name) where I researched the price of that particular repair online and presented it to him. He laughed and raised his voice while at the shop, telling me that was absolutely ridiculous. They also seemed irritated when I didn't have another car to pick me up and needed to stay and wait in the shop. Needless to say, I will never return there. My experience with Slavco was the exact opposite. He gave me an honest price and was able to diagnose the problem quickly. While I was waiting, there was another customer in the waiting area who said that he's been coming to Slavco for over 12 years and he's the only person that he allows to work on his car. He said that he drives all the way from Temple just to see Slavco. Well, I'm pretty lucky that he's right in my backyard... I'll be going to Slavco for all of my car needs, small to large, and will only go to Slavco from now on!! I live in Cedar Park, Tx, so not too convenient to Pflugerville where he is, but I will not take any vehicle I own to ANYONE other than D&H Auto. Slavko is honest, fair, and skilled. I took my sons 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS to him to have the timing belt, water pump and associated components replaced. He is certified by Mitsubishi and has the plaques on the wall to prove it; that is a huge plus if you own a Mitsubishi. He gave us the lowest quote of any of the shops. The work was completed before his time estimate and the price was exactly on point! The car is running great and I will be taking my JEEP YJ to him for some long overdue gasket TLC. I took my 07 Acura TL in for its 105K Timing Belt Service after obtaining a referral from a co-worker that had a Timing Belt Service performed on their Honda Accord. I was able to drop my car off for the day. I provided all the parts in the Timing Belt Service kit and Slavko performed the labor. I called to get an update on how long it would take and Slavko told me when I could expect he would be done. Although it was not quite ready, I appreciated that he took time to make sure everything was installed and working properly. Also he allowed me to enter the service bay to see the work being performed and showed me the old parts. The amount work he did based on parts he replaced would have cost me 2X more at the dealership. I inquired about oil changes and if I provided the oil and filter he will charge $10 to perform the service. Slavko is reasonable, honest and does good work. I have definitely found an alternative to where I usually take my (4) cars for service. read more

Highly recommend D&H Auto! I was on my way from CA to TX when my car broke down in Tucumcari, NM. At the time I wasn't sure if I wanted to trust 1 of the locals to fix my car, since it was only a 1 gas station town, and I was light on funds. After telling my dad what had happened on the road, he notified a friend in the Austin area who referred me to Slavko! At the time I wasn't sure if I wanted to take my car to him because I didn't want to hear anymore bad news that people were already telling me about my car. I had 4 so called people here in the Round Rock area who said they were mechanically inclined, tell me that I either needed a New Engine or a rebuilt engine. Because I allegedly threw a rod. After hearing that I wanted get professional advice, so I took my dad's friend up who referred me to Slavko!
