[[HIGHLIGHT]]I called and spoke to a very friendly person who was able to fit me in same day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (They are closed on weekends.) They're very friendly in person too and offer a very clean and comfortable waiting area with recliners, a giant tv (Ghostbusters was playing, which definitely beats the news!). There are interior restrooms and complimentary coffee and water. The air conditioning is going so if you're chilled easily bring a sweater. If you run hot you should be comfortable! I brought my daughter's older Honda in for a noise concern. The verbal quote over the phone was given for a wheel bearing, wheel stud replacement, brakes/rotors, and tie rods. It was impressed on me that these repairs were critical for safety. The person on the phone even made comments about how glad they were that we were safe as the brakes were metal on metal, etc.The written estimate that arrived was much higher and still had these things listed as critical along with a few smaller issues. When I requested an itemized breakdown and compared parts prices to AutoZone retail, I found parts were marked up over 2x retail across the board. When I called to ask about this, prices dropped immediately without any additional information from me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It took them over night to send the original estimate but the new one arrived within minutes of my texting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ultimately approved only the wheel bearing and lug stud repair and negotiated the price down. The actual safety critical item, one lug nut holding the wheel on, was buried after the full upsell menu was presented. Several items were listed as critical on that quote that they later said were not actually critical. I posted anonymously in a local group asking for honest mechanic recommendations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The owner identified me by my comments, I guess, and referenced my vehicle publicly to signal he knew who I was. I feel as if this might have been an attempt to get me to remove my anonymous post.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Multiple other folks in the comments described identical experiences including false "metal on metal" urgency that softened the moment they pushed back. The work was done and we picked up the car this morning. The process to get to that point was frustrating. Since I only see good reviews I wanted to offer another perspective. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff is very nice and the banter when we came in was fun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But nice is not the same as honest. I would advise anyone using this place to check retail prices of parts. And since they always offer better prices with push back, everyone who deals with them should question their prices. Some labor costs were good and some were listed at the high end for the area but not ridiculously so. The biggest price "padding" was in the parts themselves. The work seems good at this time, if you want to pay extra for parts in order to be treated nice in a fancy waiting room, I suppose it's worth it to pay more for that service but it's a nah from us. I made an appointment and took my car in for a " Free diagnosis " of why my a/c had stopped cooling. Was called back within 2 hours and told I owed $174 because they had to charge the a/c with dye to see if and where it was leaking which they did without telling me. Even after that, I decided based on their reviews on this site to go with them for the work. This auto repair shop is located on County Road 172 at the McNeil intersection and is located in front of several other businesses. Inside, they have a comfy waiting room, coffee station,2 bathrooms and free wifi. I brought my car here for a quick fix. The guys at discount tire broke one of my Lugnuts off and sent me here to get it fixed. One thing to keep in mind, is that you do need an appointment, so don't just show up. I inquired as to what other work that they do here and it's easier to say what they don't do than what they do do. They do not do state inspections, tires or bodywork. When it comes to those expensive import cars like Mercedez and BMWs which require expensive diagnostic software, they will usually turn that work down. Otherwise they can do almost anything that needs fixing. Definitely a good option to dealer pricing. read more

Came in to get my AC Checked out cause it was blowing warm air. They told me they wouldn't be able to work on the a/c since Refrigerant was put in the system with a sealer And they couldn't evacuate the system with out spending 5 grand or more to change out the ENTIRE system (from which they would still have to evacuate the system anyway) because it would "mess up their machine". They also told my my cooling fan was bad and that I wouldn't be able to drive very far for long. I've worked on cars my entire life and know for a fact that my fan was working as it should. They have customers for life, and were willing to give me a deal to right a wrong (not theirs) in order to have me as a customer. Very professional, thorough, capable, and honest. They do all my auto work. With even an oil change, they do a full look over to make certain I'm safe on the road. As time elapses, and vehicles change, they know my level of want and will give me 2 estimates, one for safely driving, and one to make it like brand new. They give a time frame for all the repairs (right now, 6 months, one year). No one has a crystal ball, but they work very hard to communicate and work with me. They are not perfect, no one is, but they are pretty, pretty, pretty close (had to steal that from Larry David). **One interaction doesn't even stand out, but will go ahead and mention. One time I was going to haul hours away that weekend and noticed loose wires in the back. I took my car for a wheel alignment. They put my vehicle on the rack and everything was within the tolerance scale. However the advisor told me that they made some minor tweaks and charged me for those tweaks. I'm a long time customer and in the pass there was no charge for any alignment as long as the vehicle was within the tolerance scale. If that rule changed you should have told me. If that rule has not changed then why did you charge me for a "tweak". Green to Green sounds like a money grab. So just be careful. Additionally they flipped flopped the tire pressure requirements for my vehicle. So just be careful with their attention to details and their "tweaks" read more

Our 7yo was messing with what he thought was the child lock on our driver's door and ended up messing up our ability to lock the door. First place wouldn't even look at it because they're "booking out through December", 2nd place only had 2 techs on staff today and couldn't take 5 min to see if it's a quick fix, 3rd place said they would have to take off the door panel and likely replace a part that would cost over $400 and over $200 for the labor, costing a total of over $700 after tax and I wouldn't be able to get on the schedule for 3 weeks. At the recommendation of a friend, I took it to Rush and they said it would be a few hours but could give me a ride home and come back to pick me up to bring me back and it ended up being a quick fix like we thought it would be! Slammed on my brakes to avoid a collision, immediately after,my front suspension was making noise. Brought it in to Rush because I live close. I would have left it and went home, made an appointment, whatever was needed, I Jude wanted to find out what was going on. I was told it sounded like I flat spotted my tires. Didn't look didn't offer nothing, even after I explained that was not the problem. I am not an idiot and grew up around cars and people working on them. They insisted that was the issue and to take it to a tire place. Didn't enjoy the condescending attitude so I left. Went down the road to Austin Automotive who took the time and looked at my car. RUSH did an alignment of my MB CLA250 yesterday. On comparing that report with an older alignment report for the same vehicle (also done by RUSH 2 years back), I noticed that these 2 alignments had used 2 very different target specs which was strange. When I brought it up with them, they did not own up the mistake. Neither they had a convincing explanation for the very different targets for the same vehicle. They shifted the blame first to Mercedes Benz, saying MB has revised the spec. Later they said the target numbers were as given by Hunter (the alignment machine they use). The other issue was that I had told them I was doing the alignment of the vehicle due to uneven wear on one tire. The did not tell me that CLA250 does not have a provision to change the camber, so the realignment can not really fix the problem effectively. This they tell after the work was done and I paid them. I have had few alignment jobs done by RUSH in the past, but with this experience I lost confidence in their work and will not go there again. read more
