I always come to Kwik Car for my oil changes. My check engine light came on yesterday before work. My code reader said it was MAF or throttle body. Was going to go to Hyundai but couldn't leave work early. Their next appt wasn't until the 20th. I called KK this morning and they were able to get me in. I thought I would have to drop it off and was prepared to be without a car. After the diagnostic they said the throttle body was dirty (even showed it to me) and explained that was what made my CE light come on. I loved their transparency throughout the process. I also opted for a coolant flush which I haven't done in all my 80k plus miles. Prices for work were still cheaper even before the 10 percent discount. I came here recently to get an emissions test as a requirement to get my vehicle's registration renewed. I walked in on a Friday morning and was told that it would take about an hour. They have ample seating in their lobby, along with a fridge of water bottles and a restroom in a corner. They have window shades that block out sunlight so the lobby doesn't get too warm. I chatted with one of the service advisors about his recommendations on the better car makers, and was told to stay away from Hyundai/Kia, any hybrids, and any turbos, for various maintenance and longevity reasons. I appreciated his honesty and willingness to share that kind of information. After about an hour, my vehicle was was finished and I was called to the counter. They charged me $11.50 for the emissions inspection, which is the posted rate on the DPS website. Great customer service, friendly advisors, and a comfortable waiting area. I stopped by recently for an emissions test so I could renew my vehicle registration. I walked in just after they opened on a Saturday morning and was in and out for the test itself in about 15 minutes. The lobby is comfortable and well set up--plenty of seating, a fridge stocked with cold water bottles, and a restroom tucked in the corner. Took my car in for a diagnostic that didn't reveal much, got my oil changed only to see it dripping on my driveway later. They said they didn't have time to check that. I was hesitant to return but my wife needed an oil change, and SummerMoon is right there for a beverage and she just needed an oil change. I told her I was feeling weird about giving them a second chance, but through caution to the wind. They told us they had an empty bay and should be quick. We told them we'll be right back, heading to the coffee shop on foot across from them. We come back an hour later mind you, to find they hadn't even put it in the empty bay, in fact, they took care of several other people who had come in for an oil change well after us! We were stunned. They can see our frustration, so they take it in quick, add in the most expensive oil and we're done. Over 100 bucks later. When you walk in this place you get a feeling, one that kind of says, just walk back out and take it to the best Kwik Kar down the road in Leander. That shop is awesome. But this one, just feels like something is wrong, bad mgmt maybe, a franchisee who doesn't care? Who knows. I'm always shocked though at how many cars are there. Oh well, maybe it's because it's on a well travelled road or something. But maybe, you should listen to that gut feeling, or this review, if your standing in there considering... and maybe you rethink this place. It might save you time, hard earned money .. and some frustration in the end. But not a wasted trip if you grab a Summer Moon! read more

I always go to Kwik Kar for my oil changes, you can get in and out quickly and they check several things for you and they also do automotive repair work. Awful customer service. took car in today to get emissions test done, and was dealing with a nice woman, and there was an issue (long story, but the car belonged to my ex, and he failed to register it/insure it properly, per the divorce decree, so I was trying to sort it all out rather than deal with him again), and when I was about to go get the insurance card out the car, this man stops me, and was incredibly rude, condescending, and threatening towards me. He said that if I don't prove the car is insured, he will refuse to inspect the car. I told them that there was no need to interrupt me and the employee I was dealing with, and he said he had to interrupt us b/c he's not sure he will inspect my car unless I show him (not anyone else, and he was not the one helping me), my proof of insurance. It was awful. So disrespectful, and unnecessary. I left the business. I will never return. This place is unprofessional, rude, and I will never use any Kwik Kar service ever again as a result. read more

They have competitive pricing, good service, and usually things get done pretty fast. We usually get synthetic oil changes done regularly here. They have coupons that come to us in the mail so it is always nice to use those. They have a nice lobby to sit in while you wait and have complimentary bottled water and coffee. Their restroom is clean and the general feel of the place is really nice and clean, too. Always ask to see if they have any specials or discounts!! read more

Went to get an inspection sticker and was told an hour wait. Which, ok so we went to the Summer Moon coffee shop and waited. Came back went in and asked about an ETA and was told I was next. Literally they took two cars before mine. After wait another 20 mins just went and got my keys and left. Most of the workers look lazy and unhappy and just don't care. Used to be a good place now there are so many more places that are better, friendly and fast. I do not recommend this place at all! read more

One of the few places that is open on Sundays for the TX vehicle inspection. Came in without an appointment and the shop was busy, but they got my car in line and estimated a 40 minute wait. There are lots of food places within walking distance and I had pizza at Marco's and walked back. At just under 40 minutes later my car was finished. The service team members were friendly as well as accurate in the wait estimation. They were able to keep up with the steady influx of customers and the reception area is clean and comfortable. We took our car to Kwik Kar for an inspection. According to their tech, the car needed new brakes, 4 new tires and struts. When we took the car to complete the maintenance required, the car needed 1 new tire, and there was nothing wrong with the struts and brakes. Don't take your car to them. They don't know what they are doing. read more

Called to see if we could get in for an oil change, guy on the phone must have had a bad day or something. We asked if they had any availability and he just kept telling us "it depends". Asking for further $550 for removing gas tank for further diagnosis when the gas smell was from the can inside the car (and I pointed it out) was just predatory and incompetent 3. You did not give a heads up on diagnosis charge 4. You were very adamant that State Inspection wouldn't pass till further repairs - and that was wrong. I have always been a strong advocate of local , hardworking businesses and take no pleasure in accusing someone of something. But at the same time I can't be paying someone to tell me wrong things and being predatory. I did call the shop before posting review, and they kept insisting that the repairs were required and they don't care about online reviews. Duh ? It already passed state inspection. Absolute worst. Been there 4 times and every time I've gone they have an excuse. "Technicians are at lunch, their inspection machine isn't working, they're short-staffed and can't get to me (for an oil change), come back tomorrow morning." Today, I tried to drop it off and once again, they won't take it because "everyone is at lunch (at 1:30 pm?) but come back in an hour and we'll get you in within 20 to 30 minutes." I go back in an hour and once again, "we have 6 cars ahead of you and we only have 2 employees so we can't get to you." Don't waste your time, this place is a joke. Never again! read more

I have no idea why the Kwik Kar on Lakeline will not reply back to me for a requested quote for fixing the front end issue on my vehicle. I first discussed the issue with Eric and he told me that he would provide me with a quote. Two weeks passed, so I called the business and Eric answered the phone. I asked him about the quote and again he said he would get to it as soon as he could. Another two weeks and I called back, Eric answered again and this time I asked for Terry and was told he was not at the shop. I asked Eric to have Terry call me and that never happened. I give up. The message is loud and clear. I won't be bothering to call you again and I'm done. I will be taking all my business somewhere else. I guess I am not a valued customer and not worth a return courtesy call that they do not have time to help me with my vehicle. read more

I had been coming to Kwik Kar for several years for oil changes, etc. so this weekend was no exception. Oil change. Rotate tires. Done in two hours -- I was No. 4 in line. After working at the coffee shop for a couple of hours, I came back and my car was ready to go out in the lot. I paid and drove away. A few seconds later, my car started make an awful racket and started shaking. I made it across the street and turned back toward the shop. I was shaking by this point and pulled into the shop. They came out to see what was going on. They had taken the air filter out of its casing and just left it sitting on top of the engine then closed the hood. Whew. Glad it was something that simple, but it scared me to death. Then the next day, I drove the car out of town and about 30 miles into the trip, the low pressure light came on alerting me that "one or more tires" was low on pressure. Turns out they all were. Fortunately, I made it home. But I'll have to re-evaluate whether I come here again or not. read more

If you're looking for grumpy people that throw $100 oil in your vehicle without asking, and then tell you to "calm down" when you express your frustration, this is definitely your spot. I went to this place 3 times, in the afternoon and on the weekend to get my car inspected with no luck. The inspector was always gone, to lunch or left early for the day. They advertise 9:30 am to 3:30 pm but don't bank on it. I will not attempt to use this place again. read more

There is an add in the e kwik Kar website that they give a 25% off of veterans. But since they are a Franchise they won't honor it. Seem like all in the Aystin area area Franchised. I was shocked by how poor the COVID-19 precautions were for the 30 minutes I was there. The gentleman at the front Desk was not consistent with wearing his mask, a customer came in without a mask and was not requested to put one on, the folks doing my (and others) car inspection were not wearing any masks or gloves whatsoever (including when they were inside my vehicle performing my inspection). read more

I live close by and had never been there before. As a Female, always wonder if I'll be ripped off by Auto places. Everyone in there was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I've only gone in there for 2 Car Inspections and 2 Oil Changes and all was good. I see several other Female's who've posted here as well and they mirror the same comments...they felt comfortable, they weren't being ripped off. This is reassuring! Amazing, quick, quality, and cheap service! My engine started to overheat while driving and I pulled over to the first parking lot I could find. I didn't even realize I was next to the shop at first, but eventually made my way over there. They took care of me the best they could, their mechanic wasn't on site until the next day, but even so my car was in and out in about 24 hours. I got quotes for the same job from multiple competitors and every single one was at least $100 more. Great communication and customer service overall- I will definitely be going back in the future!! read more

I'd rank this negative stars if I could. I have used Kwik Kar before and they have been ok. I generally only get a state inspection there. I had them do an oil change this time. As I drive up my A/C is working fine. I drive away and my A/C doesn't work. Just blows hot air. So I call and am told "an oil change has nothing to do with your A/C". I say "I know, so why is it broken?" He says he'll check it out for a minimum of $149. What a joke. Use these guys at your own risk. I'll be going somewhere else. And filing a complaint with the BBB and anyone else I can find. read more

The air conditioner in my car went out in the middle of a multiple day 100-degree heat wave. We were one day from starting on a 2000-mile road trip. Kwik Kar in Cedar Park got us in right away. Great services, was busy, but got me in line and completed my oil change and inspection.

So from my experience this is a dirty place with alarming COVID-19 safety practices. I pull in to get my car inspected and parked. Walk in for a basic oil change and state inspection. Not even 5 minutes later after giving the guy at the counter the keys I see the inspector walking out to my car opening the door and sitting in it with NO MASK AND NO GLOVES ON!!! Infuriated I asked the person behind the desk why the inspector was not wearing a mask and I was annoyed. Without as offering as much as an apology he paused and said "yes he is supposed to be wearing safety gear." So he goes out to inform the guy to wear this stuff, then I see the inspector leaving my car running and the door wide open in the parking walking back into the garage smirking and visibly irritated that he was TOLD TO BE SAFE AND OBSERVE COMMON SENSE. After that I walked out and decided to go someone else after I attempted to wipe down and de sanitize the inside of my car. Not even as much as an apology from anyone at that place.! LITTLE EDUCATION HERE, Y'ALL READY? So the inspector could have been a carrier without even knowing it, most likely did not wash his hands, breathed inside my car allowing microscopic molecules from his saliva to be airborne virtually landing anywhere inside my vehicle. I then get the car back ( if I was stupid enough at this point), sit in the car, touch or breathe this stuff and boom - I now am infected with COVID-19 through my mouth or eyes without even knowing it. Then I do the same things unknowingly to the next person I come in contact with...onward it spiral goes. So I ask everyone, is this the kind of place you want to do business with? Just a quick shoutout to Brian and his team at Kwik Kar on Lakeline. We had a loose parking break cable that BMW had quoted $503 to repair. Kwik Kar looked at it and told us it was the clip retainer that had broken and needed to be replaced. They charged us $50 total for the part and service installing it. Frustrating is the first word that comes to mind. Not only did they charge 20% or so higher to fix an easy issue, they actually did not fix it.
