The restaurant was pretty busy when we got there, but we received it right away. My friend was happy to see that they serve breakfast all day, but no biscuits after 11 AM. I was in the mood for some chicken tenders and boy were they delicious!! The chicken pieces breading was crunchy. the pieces were huge and the meat inside was moist. Worst dining experience we have had in the Broken bow/Hotchatown area, I would give 0 stars if possible. My wife and I were craving biscuits and gravy so we got online and found this place close to our cabin that said they have biscuits and gravy so we headed right over. We sat down and after about 10 minutes we placed our drink order, she got a water and I got a coffee and a water. About 10 minutes after that I was out of coffee and they came over for us to place our order. She ordered the 2 eggs with ham, and biscuits and gravy. And I ordered the western omelette with biscuits and gravy and a pancake. It took us about 20 minutes to get our food once we ordered, but 5 minutes after we ordered the table next to us got their food and we over heard the waitress tell them they ran out of biscuits and served them toast and gravy instead of biscuits. No one mentioned anything to us. By the time we finally got our food I was out of coffee and water and never received a refill of either. They set down our food and said we are out of biscuits and served us toast and gravy. The whole reason we came here was for biscuits and gravy and we didn't receive those. Also both of our breakfast items were supposed to come with breakfast cubes (home style potatoes) both of our plates were missing them. By the time we were finally able to flag someone down to ask about it, they brought them out to us once we were done eating everything else. Overall the food was not terrible, but the inattentive service and the substitution of the item we specifically came in for with out any notice was unacceptable. Waited 20 minutes for a table. Got seated and waited another 30 minutes only for them to tell us they ran out of biscuits and had to change all of our orders. Waited another additional 30 minutes and still no food. However, the surrounding tables that were seated way after us, had received or was receiving their food. Large table of 12 was seated next to us 10 minutes after we were seated.... All received their food! We had not only received any food but our waitress was avoiding out table of 4 all together. After being seated for 1 hour and 15 minutes, one of us confronted the waitress. She was upset by being called out for her lack attention to our table and lack of any food being brought out. Unfortunately as much as my husband and I were looking forward to some good finer food, Steven's Gap didn't meet our needs I was so excited for a grilled cheese. It came out looking amazing! But the toast was oily (not buttery) and the oil did not taste good. Unfortunately, that oil ruined the sandwich. He had the chicken fried steak and later told me the steak was super chewy, not tender. We both enjoyed our fries. The other weird thing about this place is you never get an itemized bill. We received the ticket from the kitchen and then you go to the counter to pay and they tell you a total amount I think the breakfast items and cakes/cheesecakes look promising here but I don't know if we will be back to try then. read more

I don't like to leave bad reviews. But the food here was pretty decent. The only reason I leave 1 star is for the service and cleanliness. When we walked in there were around 10 tables sitting with food, drinks, trash, silverware on the floor, trash on the floor. We received our appetizer after about 30 minutes, and I think only 3 of these tables got cleaned by that time. 2 of these tables were next to us, and all that was done was wipe the table, as there's dirty napkins and silverware and food all underneath it. It was kind of astonishing how much trash is left behind after busting. From the time we sat down and got drinks, i didnt get a refill until after we got the appetizer, which was around 35 minutes, and it came with a hair. Wasn't the best in my opinion. read more

Went here for the first time and the overall experience was okay and nothing special. There is usually a wait for this restaurant so be wary of that. Ours was about 15 minutes. Customer service was good and food was promptly brought in. We ordered 3 baskets of catfish, 1 ten pieces of Mozzarella sticks, and regular cups of water. Catfish batter was salty for all of us and we all had to take out the outside fried skin for us to eat it. From the inside it was fine. Our total should have been $40+tax, but we were asked for $48.17 which I am not sure why. I was not given any itemized invoice and I just paid it as-is. I think they charge extra for paying with the credit card and if that is the case then customer should be advised first or extra charge should be listed for customer to see instead of just adding and then charging it without customer's approval. We did send a message regarding this through Facebook but never got any response. I will try other restaurant next time. read more

This is a great little gem. Don't judge it be it's drive up. Parking lot was full of guys that had fished that day. Noticed they had almost all ordered the catfish so that confirmed to me it was a solid item to order. We both had a five piece and the filets were nicely seasoned and fresh with a melt in your mouth taste. Good hush puppies. Lots of dessert options with pies and cakes. Cakes are prepared in house. My family and I had a great breakfast at Steven's Gap Restaurant! We were immediately greeted and seated, we got there at the right time because about 15 minutes into our visit, there wasn't a seat left in the house! The waitress was incredibly nice and very fast to take our order. She checked on us multiple times throughout the meal and made sure that we had plenty of coffee. I was very impressed with her as there were only one or two waitresses and she was doing her best with everything/everyone. Our food was very good. My wife said that the pancakes were the best that she had in a long time. They were absolutely massive and had a great flavor to them. My breakfast sandwich was quite good (I got the sausage) and the potato cubes were seasoned perfectly. Picked up a to go breakfast order on a Monday morning a little bit after they opened. It took around 45 mins to receive our order but happy to report, it was worth the wait! The short stack pancakes were great! Four Fluffy pancakes that are as big as your head! Although they didn't include syrup or butter with the order so remember to ask for it if you want it. Everywhere else in town had longer waits so we decided to give it a try. The tables are full of local ads, and it definitely has the dive vibe. Stopped in after a hike at Beavers Bend park. This was right off the main road in Hochatown. Service was slow but greeted immediately and sat rather quickly for it being a Saturday late morning. Like others mentioned, it seems they're short staffed but it's a small mom & pop place so it wasn't a huge bother. We ordered 2 pancakes, a western omelette, a loaded breakfast burrito, French toast, and the 3 egg breakfast. Potatoes were delicious as well as the French toast. My daughter wasn't feeling the look of the burrito (the outside of the tortilla was very white and didn't look cooked) but she said it was really tasty and ate the whole thing.
