We visited Broken Bow for 4 days and ate here twice. On the first visit, my sister and I shared the Low Country Boil. It was delicious! However, we had to order and pay at the counter. The waitress was on a stool smacking her gum and took our order, then turned the bill pad around for me to pay. It had tip options, and I gave a tip. After I paid, I realized I was charged a fee for using a credit card. There were not many people in the restaurant yet, and someone did bring our food to us. However, we had to get up to refill our drinks across the restaurant. After we got home, I got an email from my cardholder that the amount I was charged was increased, but with no explanation. Our meal was$49.99 and we had two teas. I was billed $74.91. I cannot find the receipt, but my tip was not a lot. We returned a couple of days later for dinner. My sister paid this time. We had another family member with us and ordered A LOT of food. It took a while for the food to be prepared and we had to go up a couple of times to get the food because it wasn't ready at once. Again, we had to get up a few times to refill drinks. We will return, but I will be paying cash. No tip and no charge for using a credit card and being charged for something else days later. read more

We stopped in at Shuck Me and kept it simple. Started with the bang bang shrimp, and that was easily the highlight. Good flavor, cooked right, and worth ordering. For the main, we shared the fried catfish. It was just okay. The strips were pretty thin and didn't have much to them. Not bad, but nothing that stands out or makes you want to come back for it. We sat outside, which was nice, and the whole visit was quick. In and out without any issues. Overall, decent spot for a casual bite, but based on what we had, it's more of a one-time stop than a must-visit. read more

Okay, we read the reviews, adjusted our expectations and had a wonderful experience. The food was definitely above average quality, but remember you're in Oklahoma not New Orleans (we've lived there so we know great seafood). It's a vacation spot not a high class seafood restaurant. If you know that going in then the atmosphere, service, and prices make perfect sense. We went at lunch time and had oysters, shrimp, crab legs and sides. My only downside is that they sell out of things (which is good for them!). The food was delicious! We've tried the crab legs, shrimp, sausage, chicken Alfredo, crab cakes, catfish, and oysters and it was all enjoyed thoroughly! The Cajun spice can get pretty warm, so if you're a weinie (like us) opt for the garlic seasoning as the boils are all cooked in Cajun to start with! The service is as to be expected with how busy it is all the time. The outdoor seating area is a great place to eat with toddlers! It's fenced in to give clear boundaries and has rocks for the ground cover (and everyone knows toddlers love rocks). read more

This breaks my heart to say. We will not be returning. The food is not fresh and delicious as it use to be. I ordered crawfish and was so excited to have my first crawfish of the season and they were so hard to peel for such a really tiny portion of tail meat. Very sad. I always loved the hushpuppies before and now they are stale and not warm. My husband ordered the crawfish etoufee and I hate to say that it was actually terrible! It tasted bad. I had fish and chips, another had popcorn shrimp, and the youngest had a kids' cheeseburger. The portions were big, and all had a large serving of fries. Our order was ready fairly quickly. My family and I visited Broken Bow 2 yrs in a row for Thanksgiving and we wanted to try a local spot the day after and boy we hit the jackpot! This place was beautiful. It was bright and vibrant not to mention the staff greeted us as soon as we walked in. They took our orders super quickly and before we could really sit down good, orders from our party were already been called. Mind you, there is about 20 of us. I have been coming to this restaurant for as long as they've been open Hochatown. So tonight I tried something different. I ordered the crabcakes crabcakes were mostly bread with very little crab. Unfortunately, I think they were previously frozen. The zucchini on the side was delicious but the coleslaw had way too much "dressing". So then I decide to go for their bread pudding because I've always loved it. Well that is completely changed instead of the typical 2 to 3 inches tall warm gooey bread pudding. We stopped in for lunch during a visit in December. The staff was all on their phones when we arrived. There was one other group at their table. It is a walk-in and order, and then they give you a pager to pick up the food. Self-service drinks. They have booths, tables, and high tables. Between open to 3 pm during the week, they have lunch specials that include a drink. It is a limited lunch menu for the special. We got the Catfish, the grilled shrimp, and the Salmon lunch specials. We also ordered a cup of Clam Chowder. When we asked if the chowder was New England or Manhattan, the cashier had no idea what we were asking. How do you work in a seafood restaurant and not know this? The shrimp lunch special was odd as it included pico and Mexican rice. The clam chowder had a strange aftertaste. We didn't finish it. Salmon was overcooked. The catfish basket was ok. Overall, it is not the best food we have had, but the area has limited options. The place has a large patio and area for children in warmer months. I would not come back if I were in the area. If my staff sat on their phones like this staff, I would fire them. There is a saying about the restaurant business. If there is time to lean, there is time to clean. Do anything but stare at your device. We had some highs and some lows to this meal that explain the so so reviews on yelp. You order at the counter which for me was a bit of a struggle since it's a big menu. Plus they ask for a tip yet I had to do everything myself and I hate when places ask for a tip prior to your food being made because it makes it uncomfortable to me if you say no like do you still make my food the same? Ehhhh. Anyway take your buzzer and stock up on your dips (cocktail, ketchup, tarter, ect) along with a drink. I ordered the salmon salad and my fiancé got the fried shrimp with gumbo. The salmon salad was quite disappointing since it's just a bag lettuce with very roughly chopped vegetables that were too large to eat and one bite. I feel like I needed to cut up my own salad. Salmon was so so - for sure needed more seasoning. My fiancé fried shrimp was typical and the gumbo was good. My biggest complaint was that the girl by on the counter yelled and talked to her coworkers the whole time we were here and that was literally the only sound in the building so I spent my dinner listening to her yell about my salmon salad, and any other order that came in the door. It's taken me far too long to finally get around to this review and quite honestly, I am dumbfounded and shocked that Shuck Me has only 3.5/5 stars when they deserve 5 stars all the way. My family and I went on my birthday (October 6th) and it was one of the best decisions we could have made in discovering this establishment. I got the grilled mahi mahi and some gulf oysters. My mother got a classic steak burger. My father got a mix of various things like catfish, fried oysters, and the like. The very first bite I took of everything, going down the line, I called it the best I had ever had and even my mother (usually very picky) had nothing but praise for the food we received. To make things even better and here is what shocked me the most, I was gifted a free dessert by the woman at the counter and later a cherry limeade by the patio bartender. Both the dessert and the limeade were spot on, not to mention the Beaver's Bend Peach beer I had, which was very clean, very smooth, and very flavorful. This is the first establishment where I have received or have given special occasion things ever since I worked at Outback. Got the salmon, beans and spinach. The salmon was dry. I added tarter sauce to it, which is a faux pas. The lemon wedged I squeezed on it was not enough. The spinach was of the wilted variety, which is my least favorite...but they at least seasoned it well and they cooked it long enough to where it was easier to chew (albeit, it was still chewy, but less than other places I've tried). The lady at the counter where you order was very friendly and welcoming. Plus on service. I ordered a dozen oysters and the woman ordered herself some hushpuppies. My oysters were the size and consistency of medium-sized boogers smeared on a half shell. I prefer my oysters to be at least the size of hearty loogies or greater. Out of all the restaurants in Hochatown .... This one is probably one of my top favorites. They offer traditional fried seafood but also grilled (which I like) and burgers. They offer oysters on the half shell too. I ordered them, they're tiny... but expected. They were decent. I also got a grilled trout with zucchini; it was surprisingly tasty. It's one of those order at the counter and get your food restaurants; not a huge fan, but I get it. I love a good sit down. The staff was super friendly; food came out fast and overall it was good. I hope in the future the town will offer more fine dining and other ethnicities of food. Most of the places are just burgers; pizza; bqq or fried foods. It's nice to have a seafood addition. We live here in Broken Bow so we've been here a few times. This has to be by far the worst experience here. We came to have lunch on our day of walked up to order where a young blonde girl that seemed to hate her job. We had to order off of the "eclipse" menu and they didn't have most of the stuff on the menu. So I ordered spicy garlic shrimp. It came out bland and know spicy. So I went inside to get some more seasoning where the same hateful girl tried argue that I didn't order spicy shrimp. Everything we order was disappointing.
