You can tell that this place has mostly locals and that is just the right vibe for us. I ordered the reuben sandwich with onion rings and my husband ordered the chicken strips with pinto beans, turnip greens and fried okra. Everything was delicious and I appreciated the generous portion of pastrami on the reuben.....yummy! My husband enjoyed his chicken strips and sides....especially the pinto beans. The service was absolutely fantastic and our waitress was very sweet and friendly. I wish that I had gotten her name. I will get it next time and I will be trying that salad bar next time! We will definitely return!

Obviously fresh green beans and not the can ones. They had like honey baked ham pieces in it which made it taste even better! I was convinced with the food in just the sides. I got chicken fried steak and it was a delicate crispy outer layer. Dessert was also delicious. Bread pudding soaked in butter and caramel. Overall I would stop by again!

We arrived and got seated, the waitress was plenty friendly, made suggestions, made sure coffee cups stayed refreshed. However the food just seemed to be lacking. We ordered the biscuits and gravy and literally it was a biscuit with white gravy no sausage or seasoning that could be tasted. I had specifically asked that the hashbrowns be cooked crispy. However what was served was far from that. The skillets were more like a scramble. The creamer container was filthy where the server ended up taking the container from the table. We were asked if we wanted to go containers which we declined. It just didn't meet our expectations based off the reviews we had read nor the recommendations given to us, to which we left disappointed. We can put this on the been there, done that list.

The manager, Chris stays right up front and is a real hands on style manager. He makes sure that the customers are well taken care of by the wait staff( who are all friendly and knowledgeable as well as hard working). The decor is attractive and spotlessly maintained. The kitchen staff gets the food out very promptly and the bacon, eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy were all cooked and seasoned to perfection! Everything was so good that I drove through a flooding deluge of rain and lightning to eat there the next morning! Chris remembered me(after only one visit) and greeted me by name! I will definitely be eating here on every trip I make to Durant!

We really wish we could give this a 4 1/2 rating, but it won't let us. We went for the first time…read morerecently and were very glad we did. We each ordered a steak and enjoyed them. I had a filet, medium rare, and it was wonderfully cooked. I found it to be very savory and will give it a five 5. They served us rolls also and we enjoyed those very much, I actually ate 2 1/2 of them myself. We ordered scallops as an appetizer and my husband said they were excellently prepared. We also ordered a side of Brussel sprouts and glazed carrots . My husband is the Brussel Sprout connoisseur and said he would give them a four 4. I chose the glazed carrots, but for me they weren't sweet enough and so I really didn't enjoy them that much, but that is my personal preference. We ordered a piece of strawberry glazed cheesecake and we were really surprised. My husband loves cheesecake and would give it a five 5. From our understanding, the chef makes the desserts and we are so glad we tried it. My husband originally wanted Carrot Cake, but when he saw the table next to us get the cheesecake, he went for that. I'm sure the other desserts were very good too. The one thing I wish they really had were homemade salad dressings. I do not like bottled dressings and so I ordered my salad without one. It was okay, but clearly not my favorite. The chef was very personable and came out to see us. They asked if our meats were prepared properly and for us to let them know by cutting into them as soon as they were delivered. The waitstaff was very friendly and made us feel welcome. We plan on going again and have started sharing this with our friends!

I saw a video on Tik Tok by a well known hair salon owner in Dallas recommending him - LEGIT! Our hand-selected menu: - Prime Grade 16 oz Ribeye - American Wagyu 20 oz - Caesar salad (requested no anchovies but he usually adds them) - Brussels and crispy pork belly - Mushroom risotto - Smoked Gouda Mac and cheese - Herbed fresh green beans - Chocolate whiskey cake He will take custom food orders as well (even fresh seafood!). I cannot explain how EVERY bite of every item had incredible flavor. Delicious is an understatement. Chef Phil cooked, cleaned (counter/stove tops, took out the trash, loaded and started dishwasher), and provided nice to-go containers for leftovers. He did everything within 2 hours of arrival for two of us. The leftovers the next day were just as flavorful as freshly served! Reserve your date WELL in advance as his schedule stays full. Is it affordable? YES! I paid Chef Phil the same amount as going to a 5 star steak restaurant in Tulsa or Dallas and that included his time/travel (he should charge more!). The food was 5 star quality as well; actually, better! Besides being an amazing cook, Chef Phil is a kind, personable guy. It was a pleasure having him in our cabin, and we will use him on all future cabin trips!
