Visited this restaurant for Valentines weekend and it was a fantastic experience. Dametria took great care of us and the service was excellent. We had the Saturday breakfast buffet which was typical breakfast offerings but the food was delicious. The inside is decorated lodge-like with a knockout view of the river. Service was mid and the food was awful. I ordered a grilled chicken Cesar salad and I got what looked like dried out chicken on a chef salad that was over priced. My son's grilled chicken was cooked just like my salad chicken, over cooked. My husband's fish plate looked double grease fried. Place needs better staff and better management. My husband and I stopped here for breakfast on our last day in Broken Bow/Hochatown. We sat on the patio, and it was a nice view. That was pretty much the highlight of our experience here. The service was fine, but the food was just awful. Neither of us were served hot food. Some of it was barely warm, and some was just ice cold. The potatoes were cold and barely cooked, and the bacon looked and tasted like precooked microwavable bacon. My husbands pancake was apparently cooked in the same pan as my potatoes (that had chili's in them) and he said he could taste the chili's in his pancake. We didn't send anything back because we hate to be those people, so we just ate what we could and called it a day. This is disappointing as it has so much potential to be a hot spot in this area. I'd recommend going to Shady Oaks for a better breakfast if you're in the area. read more

Great views, the service was friendly and quick. However, the food is honestly horrid. Ordered two medium rare steaks, both came out completely overdone, I ate my mashed potatoes and that was it and I sent it away. Chicken fried steak was okay at best, my sister ate three bites and couldn't stomach anymore. The margarita was wonderful though. I mentioned the steak to the waitress and she blamed it on the cooks and the language barrier, "I'm sorry about that, our cooks are Mexican they don't understand." I felt like this could've been worded better, and if a language barrier is an issue then it needs to be resolved by management to accommodate for the barriers. Overall, I wouldn't go back. read more

Honestly the worst dining experience I've had! We came in and it took several minutes before the hostess came to even greet us and they were very slow, it also smelt stale and like cigarettes smoke so we had to opted to sit outside! We ordered an appetizer of okra that had absolutely no flavor, their dinner rolls was so tiny and literally harder than a hockey puck, the waitress Even asked if i wanted to switch it out for a slice of bread and i never got it! The service was terrible , the waitress took our cups for a refill and even though we were the only customers left it took several minutes to get them back ( we ordered water) , and had to wait at least 20 minutes for her to even come out to give us the check. Geezus christ... where to begin... The ONLY redeeming quality of this place was the delightful older gentleman in a multicolor shirt (possibly the owner?) Staff? Trash. Food? Trash. "General Store"? A joke. It was definitely going for the Cracker Barrel vibe but missed it in every conceivable way possible. -Dip Trio? Literally don't. Especially if you're from not Oklahoma. -Chicken Fried Steak? Acceptable, but you can't really mess that up.. -Chicken Tenders? Embarrassing but at least seasoned. -Guac Burger? Needs ranch... a lot of it. Tastes unseasoned. -Sweet Tea? No. Laughable, at best. The view is not worth the bad meal. My wife ordered the chicken fried steak, which was mushy (no crunchy exterior or tender center). The pork ribs were straight burnt, and what was edible was bone dry. The appetizers also left much to be desired. Really cool spot to eat. I recommend sitting on the back patio and watching the river flow past and the squirrels fighting in the pines. The servers were super sweet and helpful. Unfortunately they just didn't have any food when we were there. I had to order 3 separate times and the poor waitress had to tell me they didn't have that. They ran out of pizza dough, cheese sticks, and several of the sides. They comped our drinks which was super kind. Food was not great though. French fries were the only thing we really enjoyed but nothing else tasted very good. It was too pricey of a spot for how bad the food is. Go for the views but not necessarily the food. read more

sad to post a review like this but ownership needs to be aware... our server was so kind and as attentive as she could be but the restaurant was severely understaffed and that's not her fault. it was mother's day and there were maybe two or three staff members there. shame on the owners for doing that to their staff on such a popular day for eating out. we got drinks and ended up leaving. the river view is beautiful but until we hear the staffing issue is resolved we won't be back and can't recommend this place to others. read more
