This was my first time trying Shady Oaks, and I think it was an overall decent experience. You don't get a 5/5, because your gravy is a mix, and I'm pretty sure your bacon is microwave bacon. I love pancakes and was quite disappointed in these despite the yummy thoughts of a cinnamon roll flapjack. The portions are large and plenty of food. I absolutely loved my experience here! The food and portion sizes were incredible. The cheese curds and avocado chicken bacon ranch wrap was a must-have. The drip wasn't bad, too. Great little hole in the wall spot. Easily overlooked by tourists in this touristy place. Don't sleep on this place! Onion rings are on point! Barely holding together long enough to crumble in your mouth. Sweet onion used so it melts in your mouth. The steak finger bites! WOW! They took a steak, sliced it up breaded it and fried it! And gravy doesn't overpower it! The fried green beans are frozen, but still seasoned and fried well. Tots were tasty. Overall a good experience. It was only one of the few places open on a Sunday morning and was the perfect cap to our reunion weekend meeting and reconnecting with family membe The omelettes are the perfect portion and everything was cooked to perfection. We ordered French Toast And western omelette that came with potatoes and biscuit n gravy. The French toast was heavy with center gummy. Probably the worst I have had. Omelet was ok, potatoes not good. Biscuit n gravy just ok. We had been there almost 30 minutes before eating. Not sure what happened with our order but we will not return in future. We came on Sunday expecting a hardy breakfast as we were driving out of town. But it wasn't anything we thought it would be. I guess this is what I get when I let my friends pick the place LOL We all ordered a variety of things/ they don't do substitution. So because I didn't want meat on my breakfast plate- I had to order eggs, grits and potatoes separately à la cart. Which made my simply breakfast $13 instead of $8.50 they charge for the breakfast plate which was eggs, toast, potatoes and sausage/bacon. So you will get punish here if you don't eat meat! The grits were nasty!!! We all joked that our KIDS can cook better grits than what we were served. Their pancakes seems to be a popular item so my friend ordered some... and when she asked for some syrup to go with the hot pancakes, she was giving Cold syrup.... The eggs were small and OK. First, when we got our utensils, only one of them had a knife. Secondly, the pancakes and sausage were hard and were impossible to cut even using the one knife we got. There was a hole in the seat and the sausage tasted like it was microwaved, the food was cold when it came out. The service and employees were amazing though. read more

This place was advertised on Google Maps as "the best breakfast in OK" so we decided to stop here. We went in and were seated at a nice table. The walls and roof in the restaurant were made out of tin and the windows were blocked so I felt sort of caved in. The lady came back to take our order moments later. My group and I ordered our food and waited an hour to get it. Let me just say, it wasn't really worth the wait. My chicken wrap smelled odd, but it tasted okay, and the fries were not done all the way. One of my friends ordered the chicken strip basket and fries, but again the fries weren't done. The chicken was actually the best thing on the table. Someone else ordered the two egg plate + a pancake and was not pleased, as the large plate barely consisted of food and had very few potatoes, what looked like frozen sausage, and some scrambled eggs. Another person ordered an omelet, potato chunks and weak coffee. She also got a pancake, and yes it was large, but it was cold and dry. The waitress said they ran out of ham, so she ordered sausage on her omelet instead. When she got her plate, it had crunchy, overcooked potato chunks, and the sausage links in the omelet were gross and chopped up. Also, before we got our food, the people behind us got their food first -even though we were seated before them- just because the waiters knew the people. A bit of a disappointing experience, and we won't be back. Someone needs to change the description on Google Maps because this definitely is not the best breakfast in Oklahoma! read more

We both ordered the western omelet and it was really well executed. Cooked well, good portion, ingredients seemed fresh. The biscuits were also top notch. However the gravy was bland and the hash browns were very dry and had a slightly strange taste. We were promptly seated and the server took our order as soon as we were ready. Very disappointing experience. We arrived on Sunday afternoon, at 1:27pm (yes, I checked, because I was shocked with what happened.) We were told that they weren't seating any additional customers as their closing time was 2pm. The restaurant was about half full. If they would have been empty, I would have understood! Dead afternoon, close a little early. But to turn customers away when you are 30+ minutes from closing, and obviously still serving customers is shocking and disappointing. read more
