Called an order in for grilled shrimp last week, picked it up and everything was fine. Then today, I call the SAME EXACT order in, wait minutes in the drive though- Never got through it, so I went inside and waited another 8 minutes. Okay, FINE! FINALLY get to the counter and tell them I'm ready to pick the order up, guy takes his time getting to the back and then he finally makes it back to me to say "we can't make this. But can do popcorn shrimp. We've never done this"! 1st off, that's a d*mn lie, because yall done it last week. 2nd of all, if you don't have the intelligence or WANT TOO, to do it again, then why couldn't someone call me 45 effing minutes ago and let me know you didn't WANT TOO, before I waisted my ENTIRE lunch break on it? Why do you get peoples numbers if don't have the common decency to call and let them know that for WHATEVER REASON, you decided today is going to be the day to not do what is asked, thay HAS been done? Why is it so hard to throw shrimp on a grill? Please, make any of this make sense!!!! I'm done and woukd rather drive to Hochatown to get my food, before I let yall waisted my time again!!! A simple phone call would have helped the entire thing. Even though its absolutely ridiculous to not do something you've done and that would be easier than frying. This place was straight garbage. Worst food I have ever ate in a very long time. The Fish was over cooked the oysters I believe was not oysters but clams deep fried instead and the stuffed crab I'm a loss for words on. Do not waste your money here. read more

I can't believe I am first! Out with the family looking for lunch on Sunday and my brother saw this restaurant as we checked into this restaurant with lots of cars in its parking lot. The restaurant was decorated like aold lake hThe hostess seated us immediately and a very pleasant woman named 'Twila' took our drink and appetizer orders and suggested the lunch special. We ordered 2 chicken fried steak lunch specials, a shrimp scampi lunch and a fish lunch. Since all of the lunches came with the use of the salad bar we all enjoyed the salad bar while we waited for our lunch to arrive. The portions were delicious and were generous portions. If I find myself in this area again I will definitely come back. read more

The Cajun catfish is excellent, everything else was OK. But make sure you order a large plate if you're really hungry, these are not Texas size catfish pieces. Would definitely go back to eat more catfish. read more

I'm a big fan of David Beards catfish! We frequent our Bossier City,LA location after church real often. Idabel Catfish King was yummy. Excellent service and friendly and clean. In Idabel for a short visit - looking for a good place to eat. A local recommended David Beards if we liked Catfish. It was mid afternoon - not much traffic for this huge restaurant - surprisingly everything was very good -Catfish was exceptional & service was spot on. Their business is catfish yet they struggled to cook it correctly the night we went. Was way over cooked and dry. Waitress brought new over and it was exactly the same condition. She said "that's how the cook makes it". Too many other options for catfish in the area to put up with someone who doesn't know how to cook it. read more

We are from Louisiana and was traveling through Idabel when we came across David Beards, so we decided to give it a try! We ordered fried fish, shrimp and butterfly shrimp!
