Our shrimp was cold and loaded with spice, oysters were tiny, and crab cakes were like jalapeño poppers from chicken express. Nothing special. On top of that their cash register asks for a tip. Fish was ok, smaller pieces and dill potatoes while a decent portion were undercooked and had no dill flavor at all. Two hush puppies barely larger than a nickel. It says it's an oyster bar. NOT! Worst oysters of my life . Left half laying on the table. They were still frozen, beyond chewy, smelled terrible. It's just a fried food joint. Don't waste your money on expensive crappy food. The tables outside were so sticky from not being wiped off I had to lay paper towels down so my arms didn't stick to it. Maybe a little disinfectant and cleaner would be helpful. I brought the problem to the manager, all she could do was reply "OK". Wow now that is top management. First time here and last time. Food was below average. Fried calamari was rubbery and barely fried. Absolutely disgusting, tasted as if it had been frozen for 2 years. Hush puppies were very cold. I understand that sometimes it might be difficult to find good, honest food in a touristy location, but I was thinking that this place couldn't be that bad judging by the reviews and the location. My entire family came here and everyone had a different opinion about their meal. I just didn't like anything I had here. What I ended up ordering for myself, the 1 piece catfish with fried shrimp didn't taste any different than what you would get at Long John's Silver. In fact, my catfish wasn't very crispy at all. Instead of fries I ordered the "Spanish rice." Now, I learned a long time ago that I shouldn't order rice at a place where it's probably not going to be very popular since it wouldn't be fresh, but decided this place would be okay since there were several entrees that came with the Spanish rice and that the menu had a slight Mexican influence. The rice was beyond gross. Incredibly under-cooked rice cooked in some kind of chunky salsa and worst of all, it was cold. Unforgivable. My boyfriend and mom each ordered the fried red snapper (spicy) and while it was somewhat crispy, generous portion, lacked any real flavor. The spicy sauce tasted sweet jam with onions and bell pepper. More under-cooked, cold rice and non-seasoned watery beans. We also ordered a ceviche and I didn't finish it. It tasted like it was sitting in lime juice for way too long. Other things I tried: Fried pickles-good but extremely salty. Boiled shrimp with potatoes-probably the best thing I had. What a FIND foodies! So happy I found this place. You e got to try the Mexican Shrimp cocktail. Fabulous.! The flavor is a sweet concoction of flavors and large shrimp. Yum! We really enjoyed our time at Shuck Me. We were camping in the area and looking for a place to watch the final game of the College World Series. This was the perfect place. We sat on the patio, perfectly cooled with large fans and misters. Bobby, the bartender was awesome! Our glasses were never empty. We told the owner that we wanted to watch the game and he made sure the TV was on and the correct channel. We shared a fried shrimp and oyster basket. Who would have guessed Oklahoma had such great seafood? The shrimp were huge, butterflied with a very light breading. The oysters were perfectly fried and so tender. Our basket also included a couple hush puppies and a decent amount of perfectly seasoned and fried French Fries. The self serve condiments included cocktail sauce, horseradish in varying degrees of heat and hot sauces. Our beers from the nearby Beavers Bend Brewery were served icy cold in large goblets. Atmosphere is quaint and comforting, workers are friendly, but the food is meh. It's not bad, but it doesn't stand out, considering the prices give the impression it would have alot more effort. Hush puppies are greasy and crumble into a gritty mess, French fries are either extremely cold or freshly made, fish was flat and over fried, and the lobster macaroni came out barely Luke warm. It's a good spot for the family, and it's down the road from the rentable cabins, so it's either this place, the pizza spot, or the brewery/pub. I feel like maybe once upon a time this place was more invested in the food quality, but years of tourism kinda dilute a lot of effort. Hubby had crawfish etouffe he said it was ok. There are no table servers. You order at the counter and pick the food up. They only had one person taking orders so that made the line extra long. Very poor customer service. Can her for crawfish, when we arrived the line was at the door so we asked one of the counter workers if they have crawfish before we waited in line he said yes. This is our yearly place to stop and eat while in Hochatown. Adventure out on the sides and don't settle for the beans and rice. The butter shrimp is to die for. All their seafood is covered in heavily battered cornmeal as if it was catfish. This restaurant is placed to hook tourists coming in for the cabins. So impressed! I wanted some oysters for lunch and saw their sign when we drove by going to our cabin. They have a casual ambience. It is also a fast food set up where you get in line and order your food. They give you your buzzer to inform you when your food is ready to pick up at the counter. The lady at the cashier was young and although she explained the process to us, she seemed not very friendly. They did not have fresh oysters that day. My husband got a pound of boiled shrimp and my toddler and I got the 4 piece fried catfish with fried okra instead of fries. I also wanted some coleslaw, and green beans. We got our orders shortly, fresh and hot! They also had HUGE SERVINGS! The catfish was seasoned good, crisp with a nice coating of the batter (not too thin or not too heavy), but it was not my favorite. The fried okra was good. The coleslaw was crisp and seasoned to my liking. The green beans surprisingly also was cooked perfect, not soggy and had great flavors. Our favorite was the boiled shrimp. We asked for cajun, and lemon garlic butter as a dipping sauce. WIN!! The shrimps on its own lack an oomph of flavor, but with the lemon garlic butter it was sooo good. The shrimps were cooked so well, not rubbery or undercooked. Kudos to the team and cannot wait to be back! read more

Very tasty food! We came twice while we were staying in the area and had Catfish, Shrimp, PoBoy and Fish Tacos. Everything came out hot and the batter is very crispy. The dill potatoes as a side were better than the fries in my opinion so would always sub those. Good atmosphere as well. read more
