Visiting TX for a friend's birthday, she wanted to have dinner here as a steak lover. I'm glad she chose this restaurant. The ambiance is incredibly modern, clean and welcoming. Our server was just simply the best. Friendly, funny, kind and showed so much hospitality. I felt really welcomed. I had my mind made up after reviewing the menu, however our server advised us of additional menu options that weren't listed. I enjoyed red fish w/ shrimp, crab garlic butter sauce, mashed potatoes and broccoli. The broccoli was just ok but the rest of the food? MARVELOUS! The red fish was cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly and the garlic sauce was just an added bonus. The potatoes were the perfect companion. And I was full afterwards! If I am ever back in the Plano area, I would for sure dine here again.

I wasn't too impressed. If you just need to get steak or fine dining out of your system this will do. I had to ask the server if he could speak on the menu and his opinions. I'm accustomed to being greeted with popular items, recommended, and brief descriptions of pairing options. The taste was okay but nothing to brag about. The vibe was dim and comfortable which is typical for fine dining. Very reasonably priced and Id recommend trying out.

I had my birthday dinner here recently, and overall really enjoyed the experience. It was easy to make dinner reservations the day before and when we arrived it wasn't overly crowded, which is my kind of vibe. Our waiter was excellent. He was super friendly and easy to talk to. We enjoyed all our dishes, except for the creamed corn. We were surprised to taste a picante style corn, which we didn't care for, but it was still good for what it was. I said my favorite part of the meal was the dessert. They treated us to a free slice of cake, our choice, which we went with the chocolate cake. It was huge and yummy! I'd say if you're looking for an upscale restaurant that bid reasonably priced, good service, and not wanting to be somewhere super crowded and loud I'd recommend this place.

Love the ambience and friendly attentive service. They let you set the pace. We had the Caesar salad and thank goodness they do it right with actual anchovies, prime rib, and pecan crusted chicken. Also added the sautéed spinach and onion straws. Both sides were delicious and I highly recommend them. The only thing better were the entrées and I highly recommend both. All at very reasonable prices for a fine dining steakhouse.

It's Restaurant Week in Dallas but we opted out of the Restaurant Week menu. However, the Restaurant Week option is really a great deal! Sat at the bar and service was excellent! * Voila Martini: Really good! Absolut Vodka, Chambord, pineapple, lime juice, simple syrup, topped with Zardetto Prosecco. * Margarita Martini: ! Casa Noble Reposado Tequila, Cointreau, house-made sweet & sour, served up. * Blue Crab & Corn Chowder: This is a big NO! It was way too creamy/dairy-ish, no seafood flavor, hardly any crab. I love chowders and this is a never-order-again. Do not recommend! * Pan-Seared Jumbo Crab Cake: One of my top 3 in crab cakes! No fillers! Fresh and derishush! * Blackened Chilean Sea Bass Pontchartrain: Blackened pan-seared Sea Bass topped with crawfish tails, crabmeat, shrimp, and creamy Pontchartrain sauce. Served with roasted garlic Parmesan mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. (We subbed asparagus for mixed veggies) The dish was tasty but the sauce overpowered the sea bass. Too much froo-froo. * Peppercorn Crusted Filet: Cooked a perfect medium-rare and comes with a loaded baked potato. The peppercorn gravy has a hint of red wine in it. * Carrot Cake: Four layers of moist cake made with grated carrots, crushed pineapple and pecans. Topped with house-made cream cheese icing, candied pecans and a warm Tuaca infused butterscotch sauce. We got it to-go and it was sooooo good. Not overly sweet either!

Steve Fields is a wonderful restaurant. The atmosphere and service is always excellent. Had the blackened filet and my wife had the Pontchatrain shrimp pasta and both were excellent. Dessert we got the carrot cake. This was my only slight miss. The cake and frosting itself was great, but the butterscotch sauce had a bitter burnt taste to it and was a lot poured over the cake.

I booked this place for my husbands birthday dinner. I was trying to find a steak restaurant we had never been before and I found this place. The place is nice, service was decent, they have a nice sized menu. We had a party of 10. We ordered a few appetizers to share, the tuna, calamari and meatballs. The calamari was my favorite, but all were pretty good. For my entree I ordered the mushroom topped filet. It was cooked to my liking and overall taste was good. Overall we had a good dinner food wise. Not the best steak place around, but definitely not the worst.

This place is awesome. I received an advertisement for this restaurant did not even know it was here an soooo glad I came. This is my new favorite place. Our server Wendy was wonderful. She kept checking on us throughout our meal. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was wonderful as well. Yes the price was was right as well I could come here every weekend. The lobster was cooked just right.

We loaded up on sides instead of a steak. The corn chowder was delicious and our server was so sweet and attentive. Manager came over for our complimentary dessert and to congratulate us on 3 years.

Solid seafood restaurant with solid food & service. Salmon was just right, not dry. Ordered the carrot cake to go and they were able to accommodate the caramel sauce on the side.

We went for Valentine's Day and got their special menu that was $95 per person. One shared appetizer, option of soup or salad, entree, and dessert. The crab cake and chowder were great! The wedge salad was, well, a salad. The steaks could have been better, not much flavor. The sides with the steaks were alright. The cakes were not very good, a grocery store cake would have been preferable. The ambiance is beautiful, quite pleasant, minimal decor, low lighting. Service took a little long, but that's expected for a holiday. It was not very busy when we got there at 5pm though and the service was still a bit slow. I'm not sure I would come again.

Food was very good. We ordered the Prime Rib and the Ribeye. Both were tender. We always ask for our meats to have the temperature medium rare only. Works best. It's tender and juicy. The Ceasar salad was also good. Just wished they put a couple more anchovies :) Big Shrimps, it was juicy. We ordered the chocolate cake and key lime pie. It was good too. Service was very good. Very attentive, warm and efficient. Restaurant looks nice. We will be back.

Can you bring your own wine?

No, you can't. They sell wine and spirits there.

    Are you open o Mon?

Yes!!! We open every day at 4:00 (except Christmas Day and Super Bowl Sunday) for lounge seating and 5:00 for the dining room. Happy hour is Sunday through Friday from 4:00-6:30, for our lounge guests. Monday is Martin night in the lounge. All vodka…

    What is the dress code?

No dress code per se. However, it's a fine dining establishment and one should dress appropriately. Nice casual to business casual is best. Leave the tank tops and flip flops at home.

The only two things I remembered from this place was that the food was salty, my husband also commented that on his food--and he likes salt! Second, with my daughter and her many food allergies, we decided to go with plain chicken wings. They mentioned the seasoning was just salt and pepper. My daughter mentioned it being spicy so I tasted it and yes there was seasoning other than salt and pepper. I was very annoyed because she's allergic to gluten and some seasonings contain gluten. I notified the waiter and assumed we were getting a new order. BIG NOPE! What they did was RINSE the chicken and reheated it. How do I know this? Prior to sending it back, I cut a flat of the chicken wings in half for my daughter. When we got the "new" wings, the cut up flat was still on the plate. I was so shocked. Never seen that in a restaurant. At this point, we were all pretty much done with our meals and a storm was brewing so we just wanted to get out of there. I will not come back.

It was my first trip to downtown Plano which is a nice quaint strip of bars, restaurants, and shops that reminded me of any of the small one/two stop light towns around my home of NC, even though you're really surrounded by metro Dallas highways and city. The atmosphere, the food, the service, was perfection. I'll do my best to describe, but if I was creating a restaurant, I'd tell you to go here, and that is what I want. The restaurant itself is very nice, certainly upscale enough for a super nice date night, but also casual enough at lunch time for a business casual outfit. The area itself is relatively small and intimate, I'm going to guess 10 or less tables, and a spot for a few people at a small bar. Right beside the bar is the grill where you can see, hear, and smell the food being cooked! The owner was our waiter, and just like the rest, service was plenty formal yet also laid back. He did everything how you'd expect in a fine dining restaurant, but also was comfortable in a baseball cap and laid back fine with having a conversation. He was happy to tell us about the restaurant itself, the interior which he built out himself, and was enthusiastic about what he was serving and told us everything about the meat and sides. It was great seeing someone so proud and excited to tell his costumers about every aspect of it. He alone would make me want to be a regular visitor. But then there is the food! Perfection! All four of us ordered the Wagyu NY Strip, so he just told us he would serve it on a board with plenty of sides to fill us up. We didn't even have to tell him how we wanted the steak cooked, he said everything was cooked to 135 and it came out absolutely perfectly! Quality tasty meat, true wood flavor, it was what I normally have to cook myself at home to get! The sides were great as well, charred broccoli (which I'm a sucker for, marbles potatoes, fries, all wonderful! The menu is not huge, but I think that's perfect. Do what you do well and you don't need a multi page menu full of random dishes. BAR-Ranch knows what they are and they excel at it! It's not cheap, but personally I'd rather have one meal of exceptional quality over multiple cheaper meals that leave me feeling "meh that was fine". Personally I'll be back and can't wait for another opportunity to try it!
