My friends took me here for my 60th birthday!! Outside of the perfect steaks and stellar service (a great big thank you to Brad our amazing waiter), the music stole the show!! They have this insanely talented musician who performs Friday and Saturday nights starting at 6:30 PM .. he literally has his stage on a landing pad halfway up the staircase with his own little music kingdom. One guy. Several instruments. Electric guitar and saxophone were played effortlessly. You can make requests, which adds to the fun! For example, "Sweet Caroline" was a song that everyone sang along throughout the restaurant lol. Then came something I didn't expect. This musician has made it his personal mission to play our National Anthem on Fridays and Saturdays 7pm sharp. Everyone naturally stood -up, the whole room joined in, hand over their hearts, so much patriotic passion and energy. It was truly beautiful to see people come together in that moment. And just when I thought the night couldn't get better, out came a birthday dessert .. a warm homemade cookie with ice cream and a real sparkler. It was a show stopper!! I haven't seen a sparkler since I was ten lol. Apparently, birthdays are a big deal here, because it felt like every table around us had their own sparkler birthday/ anniversary moment. It was hilarious ... and I loved it! If you're looking for a memorable experience or just a relaxing delicious meal, nothing compares to Texas y'all. TIP: they have valet parking! We're regulars of EG Steak up in Plano/Frisco, and I found that a much more ideal experience. PROS: - Brazilian Lemonade was very good, I was left wanting for more - Shrimp was available as an option, which I find unique for a Brazilian steakhouse - I enjoyed the picanha and the garlic steak CONS: - The atmosphere of the place is simply less formal than desired for what you're paying. It feels a bit like your local Italian joint. Tables are close together, full light blasting, cheap tablecloths and incorrect labels on the stuff at the buffet - Most of the meat we got came to us lukewarm. I only got one piece of meat that was hot - Our service wasn't very great. We kept getting repeats of the same lower quality meats we didn't enjoy, kept getting repeatedly passed up by meats we did want despite our green table indicators and trying to get the guys' attention, and couldn't really get anyone to come to our table very often. - Some of the meats just weren't good. The chicken, for example, was salty and inedible. I also found the texture of the sirloin very, very tough. The lamb was relatively flavorless. - I don't know how much of this I can attribute to the restaurant themselves, but on a Friday night, this place was littered with kids and large families that weren't under control. Kids running around, listening to YouTube videos on full volume, etc literally right next to our table. - My partner noted that it was my birthday, having seen some of the reviews about this place making it a special occasion. It wasn't acknowledged, not even a "happy birthday" from any of the staff. Overall, for just $15 more per person and a half hour drive north, just go to EG by Stonebriar. Definitely a more elevated experience for the price point.

BAR-Ranch Steak Company has been one of my favorite meals of the year!…read more Downtown Plano is a quick drive away from my office at our companies HQ, and one day a group of four of us picked it out for a little lunch celebration we were having. It was my first trip to downtown Plano which is a nice quaint strip of bars, restaurants, and shops that reminded me of any of the small one/two stop light towns around my home of NC, even though you're really surrounded by metro Dallas highways and city. The atmosphere, the food, the service, was perfection. I'll do my best to describe, but if I was creating a restaurant, I'd tell you to go here, and that is what I want. The restaurant itself is very nice, certainly upscale enough for a super nice date night, but also casual enough at lunch time for a business casual outfit. The area itself is relatively small and intimate, I'm going to guess 10 or less tables, and a spot for a few people at a small bar. Right beside the bar is the grill where you can see, hear, and smell the food being cooked! The owner was our waiter, and just like the rest, service was plenty formal yet also laid back. He did everything how you'd expect in a fine dining restaurant, but also was comfortable in a baseball cap and laid back fine with having a conversation. He was happy to tell us about the restaurant itself, the interior which he built out himself, and was enthusiastic about what he was serving and told us everything about the meat and sides. It was great seeing someone so proud and excited to tell his costumers about every aspect of it. He alone would make me want to be a regular visitor. But then there is the food! Perfection! All four of us ordered the Wagyu NY Strip, so he just told us he would serve it on a board with plenty of sides to fill us up. We didn't even have to tell him how we wanted the steak cooked, he said everything was cooked to 135 and it came out absolutely perfectly! Quality tasty meat, true wood flavor, it was what I normally have to cook myself at home to get! The sides were great as well, charred broccoli (which I'm a sucker for, marbles potatoes, fries, all wonderful! The menu is not huge, but I think that's perfect. Do what you do well and you don't need a multi page menu full of random dishes. BAR-Ranch knows what they are and they excel at it! It's not cheap, but personally I'd rather have one meal of exceptional quality over multiple cheaper meals that leave me feeling "meh that was fine". Personally I'll be back and can't wait for another opportunity to try it!

Unbelievably Disappointing Experience As a fellow business owner, I am appalled at the lack of professionalism and customer service displayed at Steve Fields. We made a reservation for four, only to be greeted with outright hostility. Upon arrival, the hostesses informed us that a baseball cap was not allowed. When we politely requested a religious exemption, the manager, Matt Huntsman, came out and completely lost his temper. Rather than handling the situation with grace or understanding, he screamed at us, threw the door open, and demanded we leave, even going as far as to tell us to never return. His behavior was so aggressive that it felt borderline threatening--I honestly feared he might become physical. As someone who values professionalism and respect in all customer interactions, I was deeply disappointed to see such a blatant disregard for both. A manager should be the face of calm, courtesy, and problem-solving, not hostility. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are countless other establishments that treat their guests with the respect and dignity they deserve. Personally, I feel like this was an anti-somatic issue and he didn't want us in his restaurant because we are Jewish. read more

Let me start off by saying this used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Reservations were made a few days ago for my self and immediate family to celebrate my birthday. We were seated and orders taken. Before our appetizers arrived we were approached by the House Manager and told we will no longer be served because I was wearing a hat. I understand dress code however not when the table adjacent from us was wearing shorts, t-shirt and crocs for crying out loud coupled with a 7/mo baby that was crying. I've eaten at Nasr Et, Del Friscos & Eddie V's in sweat pants without being bothered... the foods better there too. I hope my expierence on my birthday is insightful enough to pick literally any other stake house in Dallas Texas. I lost my appetite tonight but they've lost my business forever. read more

The overall vibe was ever so slightly upscale, and everything was nice and clean. We shared Caprese salad, and though it was very good and fresh, it was a difficult amount of food to stomach for the price (over $10 for a few slices of tomato, mozzarella and basil...). I got the fettuccine burrata, and found it a net good meal. You could tell the pasta was fresh, and the cheese was also a good quality. I found it on the lighter side of flavor however, it could've used some Parmesan or salt. I also think the option of including chicken or shrimp could've elevated the dish. My bf got gnocchi and overall enjoyed his dish. We found the complimentary bread a little lacking, with it mostly tasting like stale wheat and rosemary. It was also cold. I think this is an area this business could for sure improve on. Overall, it was a nice place to have an evening dinner, but nothing spectacular.

Unfortunately, they recently stopped accepting reservations for parties larger than four. Since then, every time we've called, we're told there's no availability. It's become frustrating enough that it's taken away from what used to be a reliable go-to spot for us. It's disappointing because the experience used to be so good, but at this point, we'll be moving on to find a place that can accommodate our family and values our business.

My partner and I had a great date night here tonight…read more We both came in and got the steak set meal, and were impressed by the whole thing. The appetizer was interesting, with crunchy shell, a smoky sauce and a small touch of spice. The salad was clean and light, with great dressing that went well with the strawberries. Both our steaks were perfectly cooked to medium rare. They were a bit underseasoned, but I believe that to be because they want you to focus on the sauces. The light green was very herby, almost like creamy basil. The darker green was very similar with a touch of cuminy type flavor and spice. My favorite by far was the mustard, which was bright and well seasoned. The fries were average, but food vessels for the sauces and overall not the focus of the plate. Our server Patricia was kind and chatted with us often, ultimately recommending us our dessert, the cheesecake. I'd describe it more as a strawberry mousse with a chocolate crust and some nuts on top. It was certainly unique and very tasty. Overall, though a bit on the expensive end of date night, we very much enjoyed our meals and the value for money. Definitely planning on returning sometime

I loved how intentionally everything was paced. they introduced each bite and drink before it came out, which made the experience feel really thoughtful and elevated. The details stood out too: personalized name cards printed for each guest and beautifully set tables waiting upon arrival. The staff brought such great energy and were incredibly knowledgeable about everything being served throughout the evening. Parking was easy as well -- there are parking garages nearby, valet available, and additional street parking around the restaurant

The restaurant itself has very feminine decorations and lots of pink, perfect for a girls night. There was a fire performance who also did aerial dancing. She did a great job and made sure to go around every area of the restaurant. As for the food and service, both were just ok. Our waitress seemed tired, which I understood since it was late on a Friday night. I ordered the seared mahi mahi. The fish was over cooked and the brussels sprouts were overly salty. I didn't finish my meal and was a bit disappointed. The meal and atmosphere were not worth the price tag. However, if you're coming for happy hour with some girls friends, this may be an ok spot to check out. But, with so many great restaurants and bars across the DFW area, I don't see myself returning.
