Stephanie's BBQ is small and quaint, on the corner of a neighborhood. Everyone was rushing around making food and answering phones... hustling. We were greeted and sat, we asked for recommendations and the young lady said we couldn't go wrong with anything. Most things were served family style and seemed like they did quite a bit of take out orders. I ordered the chicken kabobs - cooked perfectly, so delicious. I got a half order (2 kabobs) with a side of fries and black beans. The black beans were good but they were even better with some of their house hot sauce added. My friend ordered the steak and chicken combo, same sides, the steak was tender and seasoned well, chicken was on the bone, not my preference, but he said it was tasty. It was kind of a long wait for food but I assume that is because it was made once ordered, and I was okay with that. While we waited we had some bread and butter which was delicious and we got a second basket. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for some authentic Latin, delicious barbecue. read more

Stuck at the Newark Airport Hilton during Covid-19 pandemic. We had the food delivered to the hotel. We were very hungry, and BBQ sounded good. Maybe I should have done a little more research, because this is not what I think of when I think of BBQ. Anyway, we order the combo, chicken and pork ribs. You choose 2 sides. I asked for 2x vegetables, but it came with French fries also. Some things are just not meant for delivery or takeout. Also, packing French fries with boiled cabbage and carrots makes for soft and soggy fries. I was very surprised to see no cole slaw on the menu. That probably should have been a clue. This is grilled meat. No smoke, no sauce, little flavor. Actually little meat on the pork. We also ordered the clams in garlic sauce. This was really flavorful. Problems: The paper plates wouldn't hold a sandwich, let alone heavy food! And clams with garlic sauce need a plastic bowl. They did not include napkins. When you deliver to someone's home, they probably have plates, bowls, napkins and utensils. But when you deliver to a hotel, please think about your customers access to kitchenware. No BBQ sauce! Me and my family ordered 3 cheesesteaks. one with tomatoes and lettuce, another just cheese, and one with everything. we went to go pick it up and when we came home we realized that they messed up our order and gave us two plain cheese and one with tomatoes and lettuce. We didn't want to drive all the way over there for THEIR mistake and asked for them to deliver to us, they said it would be a while because they were busy and expressed that our concerns were not important. We said we would wait and after an hour and a half passed we called and they wouldn't answer our phone calls and our delivery never came. I have sampled all of the Portugese BBQ's in E-town. Stephanie's locks it down! For $11 you can get a whole chicken, french fries, and rice. The chicken really is delicious. Has a little crisp on the edges and wings, so tender around the breast, and seasoned to perfection. I love how it has that little tobasco bite in there too. Fries can be soggy, so I try to pick it up when I order. The key to keeping the fries legit is poking holes in the foil wrapping to vent that steam. Last but but not least is the rice. I am so picky when it comes to rice. It is fine. All I can say really. It's not mine but it is fine. If you plan on parking to go in prepare to have an issue. It's on a block that leads to RT 1&9 which is a pretty busy highway. You probably will not get a spot right in front so either park a little before Stephanies if you can or double park real fast while you run in. I did a quick Waze Resturant search of the area and found this place. The food is amazing and they gave a lot of it. I would have given 5 star but they messed up my order. I ordered the rib and chicken combo and they forgot the rib. I went back in and got it. I paid for the rib again because the first plate was a lot of chicken and I felt bad taking on more food with out paying but they went and charge me full price for the rib.
