This place has been sitting on my list for a few months. Finally came here & am upset it took me so long. Absolutely loved everything. This place sits in a kinda weird parking lot, so there is SOME parking, but it is shared with another business or two. Limited street parking available too. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. They were not shy with the samples for first time customers. Bright and clean space. We had the Brisket Burnt Ends sandwich & burnt end brisket on the side. A J. Bird Chicken Wrap, & the cornbread. They gave us some candied bacon to try (I only took a pic at the very end) but it was amazing. The cornbread was so good. Most places get this item wrong. Their's had a semi-crunchy top with a soft bottom and the flavor was delicious. They also let us sample the All Day potatoes (not pictured)....incredible!They also have Boylen brand drinks & Joe brand drinks as well. Was it WTT? (Worth The Trip) ABSOLUTELY!! I have been enjoying their food for almost a year now but today was the first time I got to enjoy it inside their restaurant. I think the place has the perfect look for a super casual BBQ restaurant which seems to do a large take-out business. In other words, there were enough tables and seating in a simple but comfortable atmosphere. The owner is ever-present and he and his staff seemed dedicated to providing top notch food and service. I love their pork ribs. You can choose from among several different sauces but for me the dry rub was perfect. I also experimented today with the smoked turkey and it had just the right amount of "smokiness" while being sufficiently moist. My friend had a Friday Special hamburger and said it was delicious. Hopefully others agree and this soon becomes a regular menu item. In the past, I have had their pulled pork, brisket, brisket burnt ends, and the smoked cheddar jalapeño sausage. All of these dishes are the real deal. We are very fortunate to have a true Texas Style BBQ restaurant in the area. read more

So I really would give this place a 3.5. The food was good but there's room for improvement. The sides were outshined some of the meats which was a surprise. The potato salad, beans, greens , and cornbread were SO GOOD . The wings and ribs were MOIST and tasty-- BUT the brisket, turkey and burnt ends were SOOOOO DRY. Maybe because it was a rainy day they didn't watch the time on the smoker? I don't know. Love JBones!!! Ordered a pulled pork sandwich, with a 1/2 rack of ribs and 1/4lb of brisket, small Mac, small potato salad and a small collard greens. May have over ordered for 2 people but we got to try a lot and had leftovers! Everything was awesome, tried 3 of their bbq sauces and the sweet and OG were my favorites. This establishment has parking adjacent to the restaurant. Walked in and was greeted by a friendly young lady. We placed our order for a sliced brisket and pulled pork sandwich with a side of coleslaw and Mac and cheese. We got the house bbq and the Alabama white sauce. If I had to pick the brisket was the best of the sandwiches. Perfectly cooked tender and perfect balance of fatty meat! Pulled pork was just okay as was the Mac and cheese. I recommend adding some type of seasoning to the Mac and cheese. If in the area I might stop by again. read more

The food is not good. Everything, from the Mac and cheese to the brisket, has a strange grainy texture. There's no flavor to any of it. I thought the sweet heat sauce was more tart than hot. There is definitely some good stuff going on here. I was happy to see another smokehouse making the scene to give Red White and Que some competition. Started out with the interesting Texas Twinkies and Eggrolls. The Twinkies are Jalepenos stuffed with brisket and wrapped in bacon. Really nice flavor, but they weren't spicy. We got both the pulled pork eggrolls and the brisket ones and enjoyed them. Good balance between the meat and the cabbage, but would have liked them to be a little more crispy. We got the sliced brisket as a main, and it was tender and had good flavor, but RedWhite&Que is better. We also got the pork ribs and they were excellent. For fall-off-the-bone tenderness, they are better than RedWhite&Que. Also the All Day potatoes are great, crispy on the outside, soft and hot on the inside. The sliced Turkey breast was a total bust, waaay too dry. The sides were tasty - coleslaw, potato salad, beans, and the cornbread all complimented the meats well. The service was friendly, but the lightning is too bright, and the decor too white and spartan for a bbq joint. Overall a good place and a welcome addition to the restaurant choices in this area. I'm giving this place a 3 star. But I see potential for it to improve to a higher rating. Ordered online and picked it up and the young people behind the counter were very nice. They've got good staff working there. Now to the food. I ordered almost everything that wasn't pork. 1/4 brisket, 1/4 smoked turkey, 1/4 burnt ends, coleslaw and 12 piece wings. So ordering a 1/4 amount is very small and I knew this and did this on purpose so that I could try their different menu items. The brisket I was disappointed. Not because it was bad, it was smoked nicely, had flavor. But they gave me mostly fat, so half of it we threw away because it was literally fat and no meat. And at a 1/4 amount, the fat and gristle is basically what I paid for. Smoked turkey: juicy and flavorful. I really liked this. Burnt ends: tasty. Tender. Wings: now the wings could certainly be better. I think if they were seasoned just a little bit more and fried less it would be better. They were fried soooooo hard and then they add salt on top. They should also give the option of just having smoked wings and not having them fried. The wings were way too hard. Lastly the coleslaw. Lord lord lord. The worst coleslaw I've ever had in my life. It's literally cabbage and mayo or maybe buttermilk and sour cream. Either way. It was awful. I had to add vinegar and sugar and seasoning to make it palatable. This place definitely has potential. Would I go back? I certainly would if I were in the mood for bbq. I'd also like to try their Dino rib. read more

I am baffled by the reviews that are less than 5 stars. The barbecue here is spectacular. I have eaten a lot of barbecue, and I have eaten at some of the best barbecue places in the Carolinas and Texas. This is on par with any of them. I ordered the brisket and ribs combo delivered, and as I was eating the brisket, I was planning my next order. Brisket is peppery and delicious. Ribs delicious. Not fall off the bone, but come cleanly off the bone, and I think that is actually the preferred preparation. Mac and cheese was a little gummy, but my Uber driver got lost. Seriously, so God knows how long it road around in circles in the back seat. Next delivery order smoked chicken wings and pulled pork. Both delicious. Wings are very smoky. Not in a bad way, but if you are thinking buffalo wings, these are smoked wings. Not the same. Big and meaty. I have tried all of the sauces except the hot one. All excellent. Cornbread excellent as well chock full of delicious corn goodness. Banana pudding yummy very solid natural banana flavor and crunchy vanilla wafers. Couple of minor quibbles- On the Uber Eats app, many of the items that claim you can add a sauce have no way to add a sauce. And there is no way to add special instructions, is that just always true in Uber Eats? And if you buy a side of pickled onions for $1, it is about a tablespoon of pickled onions, and that seems high. They could at least give you 2 containers for a dollar. I would also argue the same is true for the sauce, but maybe that is nitpicky. And now for my world famous Haiku ending. J. Bones Barbecue Barbecue? I've tried a few. Yours is very good. read more

Tried this place for lunch today. I had the sliced brisket and smoked turkey combo with a side of baked beans (I would have preferred a vegetable,collard greens or corn but not an option) The combo was served with a choice of 2 sauces I had the original and Alabama white and pickled onions and pickles (disappointing not homemade). The meat was tender and the smoke great. The prices very reasonable The have many tables for dining in. The staff very friendly and professional. Ordered online and picked up some of the best BBQ I've had in a long time. I went with the sliced brisket, ribs, burnt ends, mac and cheese, and banana pudding. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and packed like they actually care about presentation. The brisket was tender with that perfect smoke ring, the ribs came clean off the bone, and the mac and cheese was creamy comfort in a cup. The burnt ends were a bit heavy on the sauce for my taste, and the banana pudding could have used more wafers and bananas, but those are small nitpicks on an otherwise incredible meal. It's definitely on the pricier side, but this isn't chain BBQ. It's the real deal and worth every penny read more

Got the Burnt ends, nicely seasoned and tender. Chicken wings were a little larger and meatier than some of their competition; perfectly cooked. Cole slaw and cornbread sides were a nice complement. Ordered takeout several times and they also catered my Super Bowl party (everyone loved it). The brisket is simply amazing. Smoked turkey was surprisingly juicy. Pulled pork was really good. Ribs, while very tender, were a bit too smokey. I'll have to try them again. The brisket eggrolls were great, too. Sides are what you expect. Banana pudding was off the hook, tho. $80 I will never get back. VERY disappointed. I get you pay buy the pound in these types off bbq restaurants BUT come on!!!! I paid $15 for 6 TINY ...AND I MEAN TINY chicken wings that were as dry as the desert. I ordered a med Mac & cheese and was delivered a small (I think or hope ) I paid $13.75 for maybe less then 2 cups. The pulled pork - tasteless. The ribs were ok. NOTHING we ate was worth talking about other than the crazy ridiculous prices we paid for VERY small portions of tasteless BBQ. Trying to make a week's profit by being opened only a few days a week is going to back fire on this place soon. Don't waste your time or hard earned $ on J.Bones. read more

I love Eastern NC BBQ and I was not disappointed when I ordered J.Bone's pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw on top and "Carolina Vinegar" sauce on the side! Wow! The pulled pork was tender, flavorful, ample and piled high on the bun. And the sauce was pitch-perfect! I only wish that I had ordered the cole slaw on the side as I could only eat 1/2 of the sandwich and it was a bit challenging to remove the cole slaw to warm it up. The restaurant itself was very clean and bright....and the staff friendly and helpful. Just a wonderful addition to the Westfield restaurant scene and the origin story of how J.Bone's came to be is well worth a read on their website. I can't wait to order again! After reading rave reviews on social media, we were so excited to try this place. Man, was it disappointing. I ordered the brisket and rib combo with cole slaw, and my husband ordered the brisket and pulled pork combo with the egg roll. The cole slaw was excellent, and it ended there. The egg roll was very dry, the brisket (which I asked for chopped and came sliced) was nothing special, but the worst part was the ribs. They were so over smoked that they tasted like cigarettes. My husband tried them and agreed. For over $50 for the two of us, we were very disappointed and will not be back. We'll spend our money at the far superior place on route 22. read more
