The Original Texas Weiner! What an amazing Hot Dog!
    Todd K.

I was passing through Plainfield and pulled up to Texas Weiner 1 and the lights were on and I had to stop. The first thing I noticed was how clean everything was inside. It would make my Italian grandmother proud. Just wow! Not many places take pride in their business but, it shows here. The hot dog was ordered as shown "1 Up and a small Pepsi". It was grilled to perfection by the muscle man behind the counter. Everybody was polite and I would come back again but next time order "Two Up!!!" Go and enjoy one of Plainfield New Jersey's finest dogs and they won't disappoint.

Well want to try another spot on this strip but it was closed ,So I ended up here . The place appeared very clean and updated . They had a very small menu , I ordered California Chesse burger , it was not flavorful or even fresh as they make it seem I didn't get raw onions like every Cailf burger I ever had ! The cook appeared Greek and the counter staff Spanish . Staff was easy to deal with but the burger is not good just ok a step up from Burger King . Price were not that great above average for the quality of food . One time visit for I !!!

Texas wiener hot dog with onions and chili

I've been coming to Texas Wiener since I was a kid.The CHILI HOT DOGS are just as I remember them. The hot dogs snap when u bite into them, the chili is thick and the onions are sweet... I always order two because one is never enough.. TEXAS WIENER IS A CASH ONLY PLACE! The area has changed over the years but not this Texas Wiener. The minute you walk in your eyes immediately go to the walls. There are pictures of the owner going back over 30 years. This place reminds me of a time warp..There are a few tables and a counter. I ate at the counter because I like talking with the staff.. The staff is very friendly, and when not busy always ready to reminisce about the old days. I don't drink soda so I decided to have a coffee. It was very good and it was made perfectly to my liking.... If you're looking for something fancy then this is not the place for you, but if you want a really good hotdog then by all means stop in for a couple of good dogs. Texas Wiener also makes cheeseburgers and other food. I haven't tried any of them because I come strictly for the chili dogs.. There is a metered parking lot 1 block before Texas Wiener on the same side.. I recommend coming during the day... I used to frequent the Texas Wiener on rt. 22 , but sadly like everything else that has closed. I will definitely be returning when I get my urge for a good hotdog .

The best hotdogs you'll ever taste! I always get the grilled hotdog with chilli, onions, ketchup. Florida can't touch this!

Good eats!! I don't have an issue with the "safety" factor, the only draw back is available immediate parking.

Ask the Community - Texas Weiner I

Could anyone tell me if this is the same hot dog sauce recipe as Texas Weiner II which used to be on Route 22 in Green Brook? I've been going there for many years, since a kid, but as you know it closed.

I ran into the owner once, and the same guy owns both locations the one in Plainfield and the one on Route 22 so yes it is the same recipe

This smoke house is on fire! Loved the food, attention and atmosphere!…read moreAs soon as I entered the place I knew it was going to be a real experience; the decor is rustic but cheerful; I was intrigued by the different barbecue sauce containers displayed all over and their home made pickles offerings. The place is veteran owned and has been in business for a while! All the choices on the menu are mouth watering good! After serious consideration we settled on sharing the Trinity platter which came with brisket, spare ribs and sausage links. We opted out of the sausage and upgraded the platter with pastrami. The Texas Trinity platter also comes with choices of pickles, one small sized side, we had Mac and Cheese, and 2 rolls. The portions were satisfying and good to share. The meats, oh my! All were smoked and cooked to perfection! Moist, juicy, and tender! Even better, they were seasoned so well there is no need for the also perfect sauces they offer! What an amazing experience at Red White n Que Smoke House! From the friendly and attentive service to their amazing smoked meats! All was top notch real at this place! Check it out, it will not dissapoint!

It was mentioned to me that this is a really good bbq shop that used to be in Kearney. I've never…read morehad it before so I didn't know what to expect except it should be barbecued meat. I ordered a 1/2 pound pastrami sandwich and a side of creamy slaw. I did ask for a cup of water too, since they can give you free tap water. But back to the sandwich, it game on a tray where it was a puddle of grease on the paper. I don't normally eat so greasy so it took me by surprise and I pushed on through since I wanted to try it. Biting into it, felt like a struggle for some reason. Maybe it was too much meat but it was also just salty to the point where I was coughing a little. They have several types of sauces that helped it come together nicer. And the creamy slaw washed it down. On its own, I just could not finish the sandwich. Someone at my table got 1/4 pound pastrami but not the sandwich. It should have been similar to my sandwich but I had them try it. They said my sandwich was so salty that they may have even salted the bread too. It made me think I was just unlucky with my order as the salt built up in my sandwich. It is a very popular place, so I think I should try a different item, but my sandwich did not sit well with me.

And this is easily the best one and the one we love the most, Punto Peruano is cuter but in flavor? Doesn't come close. They've moved like 3 times I think and I've followed them each time lol they are just so worth it. If you want real Peruvian food made by real Peruvian, try it!
