Dinner last night. We just felt like a light dinner so made plans to meet some friends here. It was our first time. Walked in and everyone was there and we all had a cocktail, service and drinks were good. Then the fun started! Wings, dumplings and lobster Mac m cheese! Very good , dumplings should be steamed. They fried in error but I heard no complaints! Lobster taco was okay, maybe too much slaw , more lobster lobster Mac n cheese was good. We went on a fairly quiet Sunday night, the place was almost empty which was perfectly fine for us as we dined and watched the ncaa game on the bar side. The food and service was very good and they also had some great wine on their wine list. Stella has an interesting eclectic drink menu which is a plus if you value that. We had the ravioli and MB, it was very tasty and was anything but ordinary as the dish may suggest. It was just as good as some of the North End italian places I've been. The Kobe Beef sliders are an absolute must, truly awesome. The salads also are well done. Tapas portions are nicely sized. Wonderful place for a drink and a couple of small plates! Atmosphere is very upscale, the staff is extremely friendly, and the food is dynamite! I always prefer to spend my time, and my money locally, as the service and food is almost always better than a chain of any kind, and this was no exception. I love Stella Blu! Great drinks, tapas and service. Sometimes it gets packed so it is hard to talk with your party which is the only downfall due to the small space. I particularly love their beet salad, pulled pork sliders, hanger steak and their specials they have! The first time I went there years ago, I was able to get alligator bites which were delicious! Overall, martinis (particularly the pear martini) are so smooth, you can drink 1 or 2 and not realize you are having such a strong martini! We have been going here for years now and hope they continue to expand their drink and menu selection. If you are going with 4+ people, make sure you have reservations on weekend nights and plan to spend a little more than you normally would in this area. Stella Blu had been a favorite restaurant for my wife and I to celebrate special occasions. A few year ago they changed their tapas-only menu to include several entrees and we left greatly disappointed - some of our favorite tapas were no longer on the menu, and the entrees were not unique. Hence Stella Blu fell off our list. We decided to return last weekend after reading some good reviews and were glad that we did! The tapas menu was expanded (although not as great as it once was) and we ordered many different dishes and they were all excellent! We forgot how good the fresh baked donuts were for dessert! The music on weekends is acoustic-based and serves as a great background while dining or if you are just enjoying some drinks. Speaking of, Stella Blu's bartenders concoct amazing drinks with good attention to the details. Highly recommended! read more

We went to dinner the night of the Christmas Stroll - it had been quite some time since we had been in and we were glad to see that there were bar seats even though many of the restaurants downtown were very crowded. Everything was great - service, beer choices, martinis. My issue was with one of the dishes we ordered, seared scallops. When they arrived they had a bad smell, so bad that I overheard the couple next to us discussing the smell. Needless to say we sent them back - this too went fine until one of the owners paid us a visit. He started out letting us know that we would not have to pay for the scallops (what we had expected) However he went on to insist that they were perfectly fine and that he and the chef ate my dish! - rather than apologizing and moving on basically refuting my complaint. It should be noted that I rarely send back anything - I just couldn't stand the smell. Will be quite some time before we return.... read more

Going here for our valentines dinner was a mistake! We got there promptly at 9 for our reservation and waited at the hostess table for a few minutes for the hostess to even come over and greet us. Once we got her attention she told us that our table was not ready and we should wait at the bar. Once we sat at the bar we had to wait at least another 5 mins for someone to come over and take our drink order. The staff didn't look all that busy, just floundering around. After waiting at the bar for 30mins we asked the hostess when we would be seated and she proceeded to tell us that she had forgotten about us. (she did apologize and give us a coupon for next time we came in) Once we got to the table we had to wait (again) a long time for the waitress to even come over. Once we ordered our first round of tapas it did come out fairly quickly. We ordered the stella salad and the wedge salad. Both were good, not great. We then waited at least 20 after finishing our food before our waitress came to ask how it was or check on us. Finally after she came back we ordered the sliders and the short rib. The short rib was extremely dry and the root vegetable puree had no seasoning and tasted like baby food. It was so unimpressive the two of us didn't finish the one rib. The sliders were decent however they were ordered medium rare and served well done. Our final course was the chicken empenadas (good not great) and the donuts (actually really good, except the chocolate dipping sauce was cold hershey syrup). When we finally got the bill it was incorrect and we had to wait another absurdly long period for the waitress to come run the card. All in all it was a waste of time and money. read more

For food we ordered the Arancini, Tuna Tartar on Fried Wonton, Shrimp & Grits, Lobster Taco, Fried Pot Stickers and then for desert ended with the Donuts with Chocolate Dipping Sauce. This place appears to be a foodie haven due to the menu. However, the food lacks a proper presentation unless you think putting a lonely, purple orchid constitutes style and grace. We ordered the cheese plate which arrived on a plate way too large. There were only 3 triangles of cheese per type of cheese sans the solo fried goat cheese the size of a large marshmallow. The hard cheeses was like from the grocery deli. The fig jam was decent. We also got the chicken alfredo w pineapple. The choice of herbs in it DID NOT MARRY with the pineapple....plus very bland. I took mom here for her birthday, based on reviews for restaurants in Nashua, and my fellow yelpers did not fail me. I can't vouch for how other tapas restaurants operate, since they aren't as common or I usually associate them with serving Spanish (Spainiard) food, but Stella Blu serves "tapas" from around the world. I guess there's a little something for everyone. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and made some great recommendations - super friendly, too! Now by a little something, I do mean little in size, too. Granted that they are tapas and not dishes, but be prepared to pay $8-12 per tapa and to order 2-4 tapas per person to have enough food for a proper meal. Those tapas do add up! Normally, I'd be upset about spending this much on such tiny dishes, but you get what you pay for. We ordered a variety of Asian- and Italian-inspired tapas; execution-wise, the tapas we had weren't true to the nations of origin, but they tasted so good regardless! I think I was surprised at how flavorful everything was. It was one of those meals where there wasn't a whole lot of talking but a lot of savoring. I booked a reservation online and left a note for the maitre'd saying this was for a birthday celebration. At the end of the night, the manager came to our table and asked for our thoughts. If you don't already know, Stella Blu is a tapas restaurant that serves tapas from different cuisines: Spanish, American, Asian, Italian, "Farmer's Market" (vegetarian), "Corner Bakery" (desserts). The staff is very friendly, so ask them for advice or their favorite dishes if you don't know what to order. Here is what I have tried: - Lobster Mac n' Cheese Spring Roll: avoid this. I know you might be curious, so let me spoil the surprise: you get very thin egg-rolls filled with lobster and a cheese dipping sauce. It was bland and not worth the price. I spoke with the waitress about this tapa and she said they have taken it off and on the menu a few times. I told her I voted for off. - Pulled Pork: you MUST order this. I was skeptical since I don't go to nice restaurants expecting a good pulled pork sandwich, but I was blown away by this dish. This is my favorite tapa so far at Stella Blu and the best pulled pork sandwich I have ever had. Please order this so you can share my excitement. - Paella: don't bother. The seafood tasted overcooked and the rice wasn't special. It is difficult to find decent paella. - Shrimp & Grits: delicious. Another must on your list. The flavor isn't for everyone and it is a bit spicy, so don't say I didn't warn you. Girlfriend and I both loved this dish and it was a favorite for a couple of the waiters. - Fish Tacos: very, very yummy. Unlike some other restaurants in the area, these fish tacos taste fresh and delicious. No hard-shell taco encased with cheese here. I can't wait to come back and try some of their other tapas (I'll update the review when I do). When you visit (because I know you will for that amazing pulled pork tapa), keep in mind that they often have live music playing near the entrance, which can get very loud. So if you aren't the live-music type of person, request a seat in the back or make sure they don't have a band that night. read more

Stopped in on a Friday night. I was with a party of 3 and we had no trouble getting a seat at the bar. Bar did fill up shortly after we arrived. Bartenders made the night. The two female bartenders were on top of everything. They made sure that my glass was never empty and were always checking in on my party. Food was good. My wife liked the smaller portions. I had to order a few different tapas to get a full meal, but it was good to try different things on the menu. I watched the bartenders whip up many concoctions throughout the evening and were not shy with explaining the drinks to me. Many looked very yummy. As we were leaving, live entertainment started. This was my first experience at a "tapas" restaurant and I'd have to say that it was a good one. I went with my husband, we had made a reservation for 5 and because there was a private party until 5 we were the only ones there for a while. So that being said, although the service was excellent, there was also no one else to serve until we were leaving. Wine prices were expensive. They had a local wine available if you wanted to buy a bottle it was 3x the price you buy it at the vineyard. Glass was on the expensive side as well but better priced it seemed. I just had a glass of pinot grigio. Husband just had draft beer. What we ordered: Bread&chorizo - We ordered the small and I'd say it was perfect for 2 people. The chorizo was of the spanish style and not too spicy. The bread in it was the perfect cross between crunchy and cooked. Onions were not cooked enough for my liking. Overall, good. Arancini (3) - Fried risotto balls stuffed with cheese and prosciutto served over their house marinara. This was okay. It was kind of bland so you really needed the sauce. Albondigas (4) - Supposedly a spanish style meatball in a picante tomato sauce. This was a tad spicy but a good amount. The meatball itself was good. Pulled Pork (3) - Served on jalapeño cheddar cornbread with chipotle mayo and a fennel slaw. First, the mayo is a tiny drip on each which is a shame, I wish it came on the side because it was good. Same for the "slaw" it consisted of a small silver on each one. The pork and cornbread itself was good. BBQ sauce used was really sweet so it may not be for everyone. My husband actually said it was so sweet it was like having a dessert if that puts it into perspective. Looked at dessert menu but nothing really warranted trying. Overall, we liked the restaurant and the food, definitely some other things we wanted to try so we'll probably go back again. Spinach artichoke dip was a little unusual (in a good way) - light, and instead of a thick heavy cheese, had light stringy cheese. Also enjoyed the Kobe sliders, calamari, Stella fries, carbonara (enough for two meals), chicken Marsala, short rib ravioli (with short ribs both inside and outside the raviolis). And oh, the yummy cocktails! I enjoyed the drink called Strawberry Fields with strawberry purée and prosecco, and my daughter enjoyed the apple cider Bellini. Came here on a Saturday night, made reservations through open table, easy! The place was exactly what we were looking for, casual enough for jeans but upscale enough for a great meal and atmosphere. The bar was huge, wrapped around the entire place. I love how the seated tables also wraps around the bar, so it makes it slightly more casual feeling like you're still sitting near the bar and not in a separate upscale dining room. We sat at a high-top table, and had lots of space. The menu was fantastic, so many options I wanted them all! We ended up choosing: 1) Hummus, delicious and with crispy pita chips, 2) Stella salad, was my favorite dish of the night! Spinach leaves, candied walnuts, cranberries, Gorgonzola, sweet potato, balsamic. Amazing!!! 3) Lobster Mac-n-cheese, small portion dish but very delicious, really cheesy and huge chunks of lobster meat. Also some crispy bread crumbs to top it off. 4) scallops, this was my least favorite dish, the blackened seasoning was a tad too spicy for me, and the sauce was kind of heavy. But my boyfriend loved them, and said it was his favorite dish. They were huge, tender, and cooked perfectly, just not my style. We didn't have any dessert although the choices looked delish. My grapefruit martini was pretty good, they also have specialty cocktails and some rotating beer selections. Overall I really enjoyed this place! Went here for the first time last night, and it was sooo good. I was very impressed. My friend and I sat the at bar and laughed and talked and ordered a couple of drinks. Both of which were really tasty, I was hungry and ordered the crab dip, which was really yummy. Will definitely be ordering that again! The bar tender was really nice, and attentive, and left us alone for awhile even after she gave us our tabs. For a Wednesday night it was pretty quiet which was also great because after having a rough day, it was nice to sit back and relax. I came here very early for dinner one night, I think they just opened at 5 and we got there at 5:30. There was only one other table that was seated. We sat at the bar. There were three employees all huddled at the end of the bar chatting away, we weren't greeted we just sat down got looked at and they continued to talk. We sat there probably for 7 min before one of the bartenders was making her way over still taking. My husband and I each ordered a specialty drink which were both pretty good. Then we ordered some tapas; artichoke dip, I think it sat out for awhile before they brought it to us, because the cheese on top was hard and it was just one giant piece of cheese. Teriyaki Wings, these were pretty tasty, we liked these, braised beef, wasn't too bad, the vegetable puree was good that it sat on. Sliders, these were good too. We ordered a lot because it is a tapas place. Overall the food and drinks were good. The service at the bar was kinda eh. It got better, but it was a bad first impression. My girlfriend and I went by after finding them on Find Me Gluten free. Made a reservation for 9:30, got there on time. We were seated promptly. There was a gentleman there playing acoustic and singing, very talented. Played a wide array of covers pretty flawlessly. This isn't just a Tapas "martini bar", as was suggested online. They have a few mainstay drafts, some select craft bombers, bottle specials and a full bar. I had a few gin and tonics and my girlfriend had the Espresso Mexitin which was incredible and the espresso martini (probably the best we've ever had), we ordered the brussel sprouts and imported linguica, the pulled pork (served on a toasted half bun) and the crab dip with crostinis. It was all very fast and delicious. The brussel sprouts were so good, roasted and salted...for 5 bucks. So good we ordered more after and then a few more drinks. Service was good, fast, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was great, the music was great. The place is beautiful and it seems to get pretty busy at the bar later in the night around 11 too. So it's good for any type of night you'd like to have, it seems. 70 bucks for the amount of food we ordered and the amount of drinks, especially, was a pretty decent price for a night out in a nice restaurant! read more

As a group of 4 we first started off with the teriyaki wings which were perfectly cooked and fell off the bone nicely. For entrees I had ordered the special prime rib with shrimp and my company had ordered enoki carbonara, steak tips with lobster tail I'm a citrus butter sauce, beet salad and some sort of taco with beets.
