This used to be our favorite spot. We ate here and/or grabbed a beer here at least once a week for years. When they reopened after covid they did pizza only. The pizza and beer selection are excellent so we kept coming back. When Tim is working we have a great experience. However they have hired a female bar tender a year or two ago and tonight will be our last visit. We have interacted with her probably 6-8 times and she completely ruins our time there. She has absolutely no customer service skills and is very rude. She ruined the bar. I can't imagine others haven't complained. It's a sad breakup but as long as she's still working there I will not be back. read more

I was unaware this option existed in the few previous times I went into this Whole Foods store. In all fairness, shopping at this Whole Foods is a lot like every experience driving in New England. Mostly rude affluent jerks expecting you to stop and let them through because their time is infinitely more important than yours. When you enter this restaurant, if that's what it is, there's no greeting or acknowledgement. There were menus on the table that included all the food items and wine and bottled beer options. Not on the menu was the variety. Of draft beer selections and there many. So my wife and I awkwardly sat at the bench table long enough to figure out no waiter or waitress was coming to take our order. I finally went to the bar and ordered drinks. Getting a draft beer was easy, getting iced tea for my bride was a bit tricker. Ordered the food a short time later. We both ordered Bartlett burgers, which were okay. Just okay. They could do a better job with their social game but the day staff is run by millennials - I'm deliberately criticizing their social incompetence. The idea of this place is great, the execution falls short. My biggest beefs were: 1. Lack of signage 2. Long wait for food 3. Errors in food we received This place is located inside the Whole Foods Market (literally, you have to go into the super market first, the door to J. Bartlett's is on the left). There isn't a sign for it outside or anything so if you're looking for it but don't realize it's associated with the Whole Foods, you might miss it. We stopped by for a late lunch on a Tuesday. There were 4 or 5 people at the bar counter. Decent selection of beers on tap although a very heavy IPA listing with only a few other options outside that. I was excited about the menu which, although small, does offer some variety between the traditional fare (burger, pizza) and some healthier options (salads, avocado toast). The waitress was friendly and the mistakes in our food were no fault of hers, since she entered the order correctly. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger and the avocado toast. The burger came with no bacon and my avocado toast came as a burger. This alone took almost 40 min, which seems unacceptable given it wasn't busy and this is presumably set up to be a "quick lunch spot" option. Finally got my avocado toast and was disappointed to have it served on nearly burnt toast. It was so tasteless and crunchy it felt like biting into...crunchy plywood? (The photo is of the 2nd piece of toast, only partially charred, the first was worst!) The sweet potato waffle fries could have been fun and tasty but again, also overcooked and nearly burnt. The burger was messy, but tasty. However, the bun it came on was oddly outsized--leaving about half an inch of bread overhanging the entire thing. Cook a bigger patty or get a smaller bun, maybe? This place is fantastic! I was in town a year ago and thought a tap room inside Whole Foods sounded strange but it's really not! It is separate from the grocery store, so you aren't drinking beer in the middle of the store. This is off to the side of the store. It has a dark, tavern feel to it. It is also very clean. There are high top tables and long picnic style tables for seating, as well as the at the bar. There are a number of local beers on tap, which I loved since I am not from the area and had the chance to try a lot of local brews without driving all over. I opted for 2 of the pick your own flights. They hand you a marker and your write on the flight paddle the numbers you are wanting to try. The service was very good- you can order at the bar (the sign at the table says to), however we had a bartender come out and greet us. We tried some of the house made chips with fairy dust- they were delicious! I don't normally like house made chips, but these were nice and crispy- the way I wish all were. The fairy dust was a light barbecue flavoring which hit the spot, and the portion was large. I would definitely be back next time I'm in the area, whether to just chat over a pint or watch some sporting games on the TVs. read more

Adorable place that is out of the way and not packed with people. Couches, bar and tables to sit at. Limited menu but the local beers are king here. Bring the kids in to play Jenga and have some chips and guacamole Bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. Who knew that you could get great beer and food at a bar...at WFs?! I've been a few times now and I must say, it's pretty great. Service can be a bit slow at times but when you are greeted and served, it has been pretty pleasant. The beer selection is amazing, although sometimes they run out of the drafts I want. Typically, there is always something good to drink on draft. The pizza is awesome and delicious. I've also had there salads and Mediterranean plate and both were great. I highly recommend checking it out if you are in need or shopping or just in the mood for a good meal. They had someone there shucking oysters the last time I went but they were a bit pricey at 2$ a shuck. Hey..it's Whole Foods, so you have to expect things to be a tad bit on pricey side, but the pizza and beer are actually pretty average priced. read more

Why the directions don't specifically say they are located in Whole Foods I don't know but I should have heeded my first instinct and passed. Now that said, the place is cute. The typical wall of beer taps make it hip and probably they are on trend with the craft beer crowd but that wasn't what I was looking for. When we finally got tired of waiting for someone to take our drink or food order, someone from our group went up to the bar. The bartender he said we needed to come to him to order, although he would deliver our food but not drinks. Strange to say the least. Food was "Okay" but nothing to write home about. A local spot that anchors my craft beer obsession. It can be crowded which is nice or annoying depending on your mood. The beer selection is amazing and changes often. A real hidden gem. The meatball ricotta pizza (buy a whole one fresh) is amazing. If you get slices they can be dry since they are sitting around. Buy the whole pie, bring some home. The bartenders are amazing, awesome service, great prices $5-$8 a beer. The ONLY negative is having to go into the Whole Foods to get there. J Bartletts would have gotten 5 stars if it was larger. The bar, which is inside of the Whole Foods, is small but very homey. I had the delicious Shirley temples and my husband a variety of their beers. Their Garlic knots were a steal and super tasty! We shared a build your own pizza with mozzarella, prosciutto, and fresh basil. The large 18" pie was a great value and super tasty. The service was a little slow, 2 people behind the bar and it looked like 1 guy in the kitchen, because they were super busy for the size of the bar. Eliza was friendly and attentive. Well we were shopping at the newish whole foods and having checked out wife noticed this interesting area at the left front of the store.......well making shopping more fun....neat little place, nice bar and settings, limited menu but the pizze we had was very good, and 32 taps with a great variety of beers, a large number local, which is nice....they seem to have specials most nights. really interesting find!!! read more

I brought it back to the counter and they kid just shrugged, said yeah it is, and threw it away. No offer to take it off the bill, replace it, nothing. Hands down the best burger I've had in a long time, and an amazing beer selection. I order my burgers well done(I know, I know, Sacrilege! I've been told) however it's possible to cook a burger well done and not have it be a hockey puck, and most kitchens fail at it. My food was great, Rosemary Parm fries were delicious, and the beer taps were very clean(important for craft beer style bars.) They have updated their food menu and it has a better selection then the previous menu. Many table games available as well as chocolate/strawberry milk. Food menu is very limited. Pizza is above average and the focal point. I'm a big fan. Burgers are average. The rest of the menu is fairly standard pub fair and average...but you don't go to The Public House for the food! Physically part of the new Whole Foods market in Nashua, this absolute gem is for me the only reason to go there(I could care less about doubling my food budget to get all that free-range, cage-free, organic, fair-trade, sustainable yuppie nonsense in Whole Foods). Anyway, Bartlett's has a contemporary brewpub feel with the biggest selection of draft beers in the area, hands down. Just massive. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and let you sample anything you want. The food is mainly sandwiches and pizza, again both outstanding. Have never been disappointed in this place. If you are into beer, you Must check Bartlett's out. IMPORTANT: For some reason, you cannot add a tip for your server when you pay by credit, maybe part of being associated with the supermarket. Good beer selection, terrible food, mediocre service. if you just want a beer then it's an okay place to go to grab a (not so quick) one. Not much exciting about it in terms of atmosphere. The few games they have are a nice touch because you'll wait forever for service and even more so for food. If, like me, you want a little something to nosh on while you are having a drink or two then I recommend you look elsewhere. I realize it's a pub, but if you market yourself as a pub that serves some pub food, that food should at least be edible. And not take 60 minutes to prepare (it's PUB food for goodness sake!). I've been here a few times with coworkers, friends and the hubby/kids after shopping. It's consistently terrible: - complimentary popcorn - generally stale with no salt - chips & salsa or quac - flavorless - spring rolls - wonton wrapper wrapped around...nothing (as in literally no discernible filling) - chicken siracha wontons - I wouldn't know. We've attempted to order them FOUR times and not once have they been available. They don't even attempt to apologize anymore, just "nope, we don't have them". - pizza (by the slice) - greasy but decent - Friday hamburger night is a joke. Four burgers to choose from with one being vegetarian. All American is a nuclear blasted hockey puck. Waffle fries are overcooked to the point of being inedible (unless you want to break a tooth). - Rueben - took one bite and sent it back. Well to be fair, first I asked them to fix the ham and cheese sandwich they gave me. There was no cole slaw or thousand island dressing on it at all. I had to confirm that they placed the correct order. After waiting 15 more minutes for the corrected sandwich I finally just told them to remove it from my bill, we were leaving. The bartenders are friendly enough but they always seem overworked, even with a helper from the kitchen/grocery side. Tonight was my last attempt to like this place.
