I was unaware this option existed in the few previous times I went into this Whole Foods store. In all fairness, shopping at this Whole Foods is a lot like every experience driving in New England. Mostly rude affluent jerks expecting you to stop and let them through because their time is infinitely more important than yours. When you enter this restaurant, if that's what it is, there's no greeting or acknowledgement. There were menus on the table that included all the food items and wine and bottled beer options. Not on the menu was the variety. Of draft beer selections and there many. So my wife and I awkwardly sat at the bench table long enough to figure out no waiter or waitress was coming to take our order. I finally went to the bar and ordered drinks. Getting a draft beer was easy, getting iced tea for my bride was a bit tricker. Ordered the food a short time later. We both ordered Bartlett burgers, which were okay. Just okay. They could do a better job with their social game but the day staff is run by millennials - I'm deliberately criticizing their social incompetence. They are leaving quite a bit of money on the table.

Burnt toast on the "avocado toast." The second piece looked worse.

The idea of this place is great, the execution falls short. My biggest beefs were: 1. Lack of signage 2. Long wait for food 3. Errors in food we received This place is located inside the Whole Foods Market (literally, you have to go into the super market first, the door to J. Bartlett's is on the left). There isn't a sign for it outside or anything so if you're looking for it but don't realize it's associated with the Whole Foods, you might miss it. We stopped by for a late lunch on a Tuesday. There were 4 or 5 people at the bar counter. Decent selection of beers on tap although a very heavy IPA listing with only a few other options outside that. I was excited about the menu which, although small, does offer some variety between the traditional fare (burger, pizza) and some healthier options (salads, avocado toast). The waitress was friendly and the mistakes in our food were no fault of hers, since she entered the order correctly. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger and the avocado toast. The burger came with no bacon and my avocado toast came as a burger. This alone took almost 40 min, which seems unacceptable given it wasn't busy and this is presumably set up to be a "quick lunch spot" option. Finally got my avocado toast and was disappointed to have it served on nearly burnt toast. It was so tasteless and crunchy it felt like biting into...crunchy plywood? (The photo is of the 2nd piece of toast, only partially charred, the first was worst!) The sweet potato waffle fries could have been fun and tasty but again, also overcooked and nearly burnt. The burger was messy, but tasty. However, the bun it came on was oddly outsized--leaving about half an inch of bread overhanging the entire thing. Cook a bigger patty or get a smaller bun, maybe? Overall, disappointing and not worth the wait. Would expect better from a place presumably under the auspices of Whole Foods.i

We returned. Better, larger menu. Still only 2 overworked servers. Still a great beer selection. Great pizza too. Fresh ingredients. Thin chewy crust. Still waiting for this place to come to our Rhode Island Whole Foods! We will return

Small menu but great for a lunch and fantastic beer

Adorable place that is out of the way and not packed with people. Couches, bar and tables to sit at. Limited menu but the local beers are king here. Bring the kids in to play Jenga and have some chips and guacamole Bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. Great place to drop the husband to watch the game on a huge tv while getting the grocery shopping done.

Comfy couches for a seat at the bar or one if the few tables... Wait, what's that beyond the doors? Whole foods?!?! Yep!

J Bartletts would have gotten 5 stars if it was larger. The bar, which is inside of the Whole Foods, is small but very homey. I had the delicious Shirley temples and my husband a variety of their beers. Their Garlic knots were a steal and super tasty! We shared a build your own pizza with mozzarella, prosciutto, and fresh basil. The large 18" pie was a great value and super tasty. The service was a little slow, 2 people behind the bar and it looked like 1 guy in the kitchen, because they were super busy for the size of the bar. Eliza was friendly and attentive. We will certainly be returning sometime soon!

Love the atmosphere here! All the staff that works the bar is friendly and remembers their customers names. This place is an awesome place for a quick lunch and a flight. They constantly have 32 beers on rotating taps. I love coming here and love the people!

Stopping for a quick one while food shopping. Once again, genius.

Not a public house. Just a Whole Foods pizza dispensary with beer. If you go down the street there are other restaurants.

Definitely a surprise to the regular clientele. Look for the roadside sign into their large parking lot. The building is set way back. Signs every where instruct patrons. A large over head sign lets you know to "order here." No waitress service. Belly up to the bar and place food and drink orders with the bartender. A sign at the bar instructs "order, pay, move outta the way!" I just love this. Signs on the tables instruct "Do not drag tables". however, you can pick them up and move them. Just don't drag them. For our crowd, we did have to move a couple tables and chairs. There is a jukebox on one wall and I must say the clientele have excellent musical taste. This is absolutely my kind of bar. We had some fun conversations with locals. The bartender was friendly and efficient. All together an enjoyable visit. Besides soft drinks, bottled beers and a full bar, the food menu is pretty extensive. Apps, sandwiches, salad, entrees. With live music, pool table and darts this is a good neighborhood bar.

This review is more for the out of towner. If you're local, then it course your going to eat here…read more Especially since there's not much else in this town. Walking in 7 minutes after opening, this place was already packed. Full of Patriots fans hooping and hollering to the end of the fourth quarter. Every appeared in a merry mood, and everyone knew each other it seems. Service here was great. Our waitress whipped around the room with finesse and speed, working the bar and tables all by herself. She was to the point but pleasant. The beers are ok, but they aren't anything spectacular. An average selection of nearby beers of all varieties. Going to other breweries in New Hampshire, I know that this state can produce good beers. Perhaps they just had a mediocre selection the week I was there. We ordered a medley of items and most of it was hit and miss. In the sampler, the pork cracklings were decent, although dinner pieces were hard to chew since they turned into a dense fried bit. The fries were ok, but standard. The tator tot was actual pretty good, but there's this sweetness and texture that makes me think of pumpkin? That could be upsetting to some. The chicken tenders are ok, but the breading isn't seasoned or exciting in texture. It felt like how I would fry chicken at home with only one coat of breading. The pickle chips were good, even though they were not spicy at all. If they called these paprika coated chips, then I would agree. But texture wise, they were actually crisp and not super watery. The pulled pork tacos are ok, but they rely more on sweet barbeque sauce more than anything else. The tortillas are subpar in flavor, but sturdy enough to hold everything together. The veggies slaw did add some nice acidity though. The wedge salad here is terrible. I should have looked up what others posted before I ordered it. It was a literal wedge of plain iceberg, with all the other ingredients and fixings dumped in the middle. The stuff in the middle was ok, but nothing felt harmonious. Just a bunch of salad ingredients added to a giant paper tray. It felt like a waste of 9 dollars for what was lazy preparation.
