I've had good experiences in other common man restaurants and was looking forward to coming here and I'm glad I did! Restaurant building has a good history to it, warm ambiance and great, friendly service. But the highlight is the food... they give you warm rolls to start and they were delicious. And I had the pot roast, it was melt in your mouth tender and was pure comfort food, it was sublime. BF had the grill room steak and he loved it. Looking forward for my next meal here.

Came here fresh after arriving to Merrimack, NH and received a very friendly greeting as soon as we walked in. We were sat with Violet who was an absolute delight and helped break down the menu. We ordered the buffalo empanadas and sticky meatballs which I both highly recommend. For our entrees we had the smokehouse burgers which were a bit on the tougher side, but still tasty. For drinks I highly recommend their margaritas. Great size, ingredients, and price. The atmosphere is super cute and cozy, would definitely come back to this location.

Stopped in for lunch while in the area. The house has a fun atmosphere and has bits of history all around. The food is served in great quantities as well! We ordered the corn and lobster chowder which was delicious but my only complaint is there wasn't enough lobster. We ordered a couple salads, the Reuben, the tzatziki chicken wrap and a few kids meals. Everything was huge and delicious! We will be back.

My son wanted to find a local place that offered good clam chowder. He discovered this place and gave it a try. The staff were very friendly and were able to seat us a table right away. They told us about the free cheese and crackers offered before we sat down. The cheese was tasty but I didn't want to get too full before my entrees. The restaurant was decorated like the colonial days as the theme. The lobster clam chowder was made perfectly not watery. I enjoy the chunks of lobster added in to the chowder. The mussels we order were good. The sauce to it was ok. I had better sauce in other places. The not escargot was a different twist to it. Cooked like escargot but not escargot. Just cheese and mushrooms. A Great choice of a vegetarian dish. Overall we were happy and satisfied with our craving for the clam chowder dish.

Farm deco resto with friendly staff, good priced food and interesting kid menu! Portions were big too. The lobster corn chowder was delicious, and the pot pie was huge with alot of chicken meat inside. 5 min away from Merrimack Premium Outlets!

Me and my family lived in this house around 1967. The food is great and most of the stories about paranormal activity are true. My mother and myself have had some remarkable strange experiences here. Some that have recently come to light, and many that we have not spoken about. The Common Man Tavern was built by Matthew Thornton in 1797 as a wedding present for his son James. But a few years later, James committed suicide. Today, witnesses report ghostly footsteps and several apparitions, but not ones belonging to James. Folks have seen a Native American, a little girl, and a woman in a long black dress. Spirits in the building are known to hum, knock things over, and play other tricks on the living.

I'm sorry, but this is the saddest Reuben I have ever seen. The bread is dry (possibly stale), and the Reuben is made out of pastrami, not corned beef - but that isn't necessarily the bad part. I didn't see the sandwich being prepared, but I bet I can tell you their process: toast some bread, no butter, just dry. Now take some pastrami out of the cooler and put it on the bread. Now run that through a toaster oven/salamander oven to heat it (this dries the meat and curls it up), then add some sauerkraut (which had zero flavor) and top it with some form of Thousand Island dressing (again, no flavor). Now, toss that top piece of bread on the sandwich, put it on a plate, and send it out to the customer. If you are expecting a NY Deli-style Reuben sandwich, you are in for a letdown. The Ruben should be served with bread that has been liberally buttered and then cooked in a frying pan (preferably cast iron), which gives the bread a nice crunch. That hot, crunchy bread is now a delicious outer layer to the juicy, tasty corned beef with tangy sauerkraut and fresh Russian or Thousand Island dressing. That's not what you'll get at this place - so move on to something else on the menu. And, almost forgot: no cheese! A Reuben should have Swiss cheese. If you are going to deviate so much from what a Reuben should be, don't call it "Ped's Reuben," call it "Ped's Dry Meat Sandwich on Dry Toasted Bread" - because it ain't a Reuben. Hey Peddler's: you're better than this - try harder, because your Reuben kinda sucks. My wife always gets the fish and chips. She is particular when we go out to eat, but she always likes your fish and chips. So overall: I like this place... but the Reuben... don't order it if you really know what a Reuben can/should be - you will be disappointed. It's a throwback, but the best Reuben sandwich I've had outside of NYC was back in the 1990's at a place called the Dili Dali Deli on Rt 38 in Tewksbury, MA (just about in Lowell). That place was great! Wherever those people who ran that place are today, you should know that I judge all Reubens based on your version of this classic sandwich. So far, no one has come close to the quality you prepared at that little deli, which typically had a counter 3-4 people deep at lunchtime - and you cranked out SO MUCH DELICIOUS FOOD, all with smiles on your faces! You guys were the best!

Walking in 7 minutes after opening, this place was already packed. Full of Patriots fans hooping and hollering to the end of the fourth quarter. Every appeared in a merry mood, and everyone knew each other it seems. Service here was great. Our waitress whipped around the room with finesse and speed, working the bar and tables all by herself. She was to the point but pleasant. The beers are ok, but they aren't anything spectacular. An average selection of nearby beers of all varieties. Going to other breweries in New Hampshire, I know that this state can produce good beers. Perhaps they just had a mediocre selection the week I was there. We ordered a medley of items and most of it was hit and miss. In the sampler, the pork cracklings were decent, although dinner pieces were hard to chew since they turned into a dense fried bit. The fries were ok, but standard. The tator tot was actual pretty good, but there's this sweetness and texture that makes me think of pumpkin? That could be upsetting to some. The chicken tenders are ok, but the breading isn't seasoned or exciting in texture. It felt like how I would fry chicken at home with only one coat of breading. The pickle chips were good, even though they were not spicy at all. If they called these paprika coated chips, then I would agree. But texture wise, they were actually crisp and not super watery. The pulled pork tacos are ok, but they rely more on sweet barbeque sauce more than anything else. The tortillas are subpar in flavor, but sturdy enough to hold everything together. The veggies slaw did add some nice acidity though. The wedge salad here is terrible. I should have looked up what others posted before I ordered it. It was a literal wedge of plain iceberg, with all the other ingredients and fixings dumped in the middle. The stuff in the middle was ok, but nothing felt harmonious. Just a bunch of salad ingredients added to a giant paper tray. It felt like a waste of 9 dollars for what was lazy preparation.
