This place is as good as it gets! I came here for my first exam in YEARS (yes, I was long overdue!) and I am so glad I did. The friendly staff here made me feel very welcomed. I got my prescription here and had a pleasant experience. Dr. Tatevik Mananian took my prescription measurements and checked my eyes. She answered all the questions I had about my contacts and glasses. My mistake, unfortunately, is that I ended up going to LensCrafters for my frames and lenses and quickly noticed discomfort when putting them on. I was told from LensCrafters staff on 3 separate visits in one month that is was me and that I need to wear the glasses more (which I did). Even after explaining to them that I've never had this type of discomfort with my glasses before and that my prescription is the same. They just shut me down. The LensCrafters staff really put it in my head that this was how new glasses felt. My girlfriend then recommends we go back to Stein Optometry. I tell them about my discomfort with the glasses over the phone and right away they bring me in for an appointment with one of the optometrists. The staff here definitely knows what they are doing. The staff and Dr. Kuriki listened to my concerns of discomfort and rechecked everything being very thorough and really trying to find the problem. Dr. Vanessa Kuriki was able to find the mistake that LensCrafters never bothered to look for. The prescription was correct but the measurements on my glasses were wrong causing my eyes to strain and try to shift to the proper focal point. They marked my glasses from LensCrafters and showed me how the focal point on my left eye was higher than my right eye. I had to slant my glasses to the right to comfortably see out of them. They gave me test glasses so I could feel what my glasses were supposed to be and to my relief I felt no discomfort. I am thankful to the staff here for taking care in their work and for solving the problem I initially came in with. The staff here is knowledgeable, helpful, and very kind. They have without a doubt gained a loyal customer. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Also, stay away from LensCrafters! read more

(Disclaimer: I'm terrible with names, sorry) I started my exam with the sweetest young lady. Not sure of her name but possibly Marylou. She was really wonderful and polite. Then had the absolute pleasure of working with The greatest Optometrist ever which breaks my heart I forgot her name but she was a gorgeous young blonde. (maybe Dr. Enov) She was very patient and informative which put me at ease. They did an exam that took pictures of the back of your eyes which was so awesome to see at the end of your exam and she game me some office glasses to try out for my astigmatism in both eyes which was a plus. Once the exam was completed, It was time to pick my glasses with Maria which was a pretty fast process being that I knew what frames I wanted ahead of time. However they had a great selection of glasses to choose from and a lot of options if I may add. Maria helped me get started and helped me get some Anti-Glare and Color transition Lenses. She explained everything to me and was so sweet! I'll be back in (hopefully) a week or 10-15 business days for my glasses! In conclusion, Look no further. I've been coming here for years for eye exams and contact lenses (+ 1 pair of glasses) and I always have a really pleasant experience. A standout in this office is MARIA!! She has fixed my glasses for me on two separate occasions and did a wonderful job both times. More recently she fixed the legs of my glasses as I had accidentally smooshed them and they became uneven. She even went as far as to offer to curve the ends of the legs of my glasses inward so that they hug my head and stay more put. That was amazing since I always felt my glasses were too loose but didn't realize it could be fixed. Anyway my glasses feel even better now and I'm so glad! 10/10 recommend read more

My first prescription from Dr. Cook was messy, with two problems: -100 instead of -1.00 in one spot, and what looked like p1 instead of p/0 in another. I ordered from a site online and one eye was way off. I clarified through email and got a clearer prescription. This time, a different value that should have been 100 had a clear 1.00 with a decimal point that looked very deliberate and not a mistake. Once again ordered glasses and the other eye is now bad. Everyone I've dealt with is nice enough, but they need to be accountable for clarity. My eyes are strained. I just want glasses that work. read more

This was my first visit at Stein Optometric Center. I called about two weeks in advance to book an appointment. The representative over the phone was patient to explain how my VSP was on hold since I made an appointment with a different optometrist in the past (that I ended up cancelling). I was still able to book my appointment though which was good. I called two days before my appointment to see if there was anyway to move up my appointment date/time and they were able to accommodate, which was great. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment and was asked to fill out new patient paperwork. After that, I was taken to an area where they do a preliminary eye screening. Thereafter, I was seen by Dr. Patel. I felt like she was super patient and thorough with my contacts lens exam (she went over the lenses - 1 or 2, 3 or 4, etc. and I couldn't make up my mind on what looked better). She gave me trial lenses to make sure if they were a good fit and prescription. She then asked whether if I wanted to get my lenses there. I was at first a tad skeptical because I thought about online/Costco prices and such, but she wasn't pushy at all and calculated the prices with me, which was super helpful. I ended up buying a year supply and scored an online rebate that I did right when I got home. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I'm glad that I did my research to choose this place. I am beyond pleased that Stein Optometric was recommended to me. I have been going to the same optometrist for over twenty years and for the past decade I haven't lived anywhere near my optometrist and I pretty much despise the area he was located in since it's changed so much over the years but I thought going there just once a year was something I could handle until the past two years when I found myself showing up once a year for my annual visit and cursing the entire drive there and feeling nauseated just exiting the fwy for his office. I'd have my visit and never return to pick up my contacts which is SO unhealthy for my poor eyeballs. I then found Stein Optometric and while they aren't super close they are in an area that I don't have a problem with (Burbank). They are located in a mall which may seem a bit odd (and sadly, it's a terrible mall with awful stores - so there is no real plus to their location) other than parking very close to the entrance closest to their location and walking right in and out. I had my first appointment today with Dr. Michael Drabinsky and he is beyond through and totally knows his shit! I loved how knowledgeable he was and his extensive vocabulary :) (yes, the things that win me over about a person, lol). I was very impressed, very comfortable and completely satisfied with the level of service I received. He was patient and didn't throw me in just any lenses and push me out the door after selling a couple boxes. He really took his time to adjust my Rx to the best of his ability during my first session, even having me toss the first lense we tried on my left eye. I'll return in a week or two to make sure things are going well with the two separate lenses I am in. I cannot express just how happy I believe you will be in his care. Stein Optometric commitment to not only getting you in the correct Rx but also the health of your eyes is very admirable. I feel comfortable and confident referring this optometrist to those I care about and others. The staff is also friendly and they provide free fittings/adjustments on your glasses. I was able to get an old go to pair of mine fitting just perfect again. I'll bring my other pair on my next visit. Give them a shot, if you are looking for a good optometrist in the area. I am insured under VSP and won't have to come out a pocket much which is always a plus. read more

I have been to this location twice and I am convinced that they are racist. The first time I came around the holidays. I was the only person in the store. When I walked in the two white ladies at the register were staring at me but slow to help. I finally approached a blonde woman who was standing across the room and let her know that I'd like to try on some glasses. I was already wearing my own but needed an exam and a new pair but they behaved like I was going to steal . She gave me a basket .. as I browsed the empty store I noticed a woman following me around but not making eye contact. Im slow to assume these type of things so i let it slide for the first ten minutes but then I got fed up when I realized it was attentional as she stayed 2 ft from me at all time. Mind, you, she wasn't offering to help me. I politely told her that I do not like to be followed. She instantly got flustered and started to act like she wanted to help me. I declined the help and sought help from her co worker instead even though the vibe was off. They took note of the glasses i liked and we made an appt. the pandemic happened and i never made it back until today. I had my mask on and approached their door. A white lady with curly hair approached the door and was honestly annoyed from the start. I asked her if they were open to browse and she said not if you don't have an appointment so I said that's fine. I explained that someone took note of a pair of glasses I liked and asked her if she would look my name up so she can just tell me the name of the glasses . At this point I'll just get them off line myself. But she refused. She explained that they "wiped all the name of potential clients out" during the pandemic. That doesn't even make sense. I tried to explain that i had an actual appt at one time, i missed it and was trying my best to get back in. She literally rolled her eyes and cut me off "are you gonna make an appointment or no"? Frial at the front desk was super helpful and friendly and the rest of the customer service staff helped me out every step of the way. I was assigned to Dr Mananian and she was amazing to work with. Just so friendly and professional from the very first interaction. I really like her upbeat, warm manner and her confidence. She helped me feel at ease when going down the LASIK path which was quite daunting at the outset. She recommended two of the best LASIK surgeons in LA and after doing my research and discussing with her I went with the Assil Eye Institute and am really happy with how it worked out. And just today, Frial went over and above for me in ordering new non-prescription sunglasses. She spent a good 20 minutes on the phone to my insurance company sorting out some issues they had on the insurer end and helped me got the best price and coverage for my new pair of sunnies. Doctor Edwin Cook was extremely helpful with answering my questions and making me feel fully aware of how my prescription has changed and how to prepare for the inevitable old age. Unlike others I have visited through the years I felt like he has an extensive knowledge with the ability to inform me as the patient. The location is pretty standard ophthalmologist eyeglass store placed inside a mall. Took a quick peak at the cost of frames and not sure how these compare to a lens crafter or others. Especially during these covid times they have taken extra precautions and I greatly appreciate it. I've lived in Burbank all my life and have come to the mall which is now called The Burbank Town Center millions of times. I have always over looked this one specific location of business. I was recently on Yelp looking to see what people had to say about eye doctor locations in Burbank and I came across this Stein Optometric Center which is conveniently located inside the mall on the second floor next to Burlington. In reading their reviews I decided to check this place out with my mom who was looking for a new eye doctor. I made an appointment over the phone with an employee named Frial which was extremely professional and informative. She provided all information needed and exactly what to expect for my moms first visit. Upon arrival for my moms appointment we were greeted by the same employee named Frial. From the moment she began assisting us she was focused on just us and payed attention to the small details. We were then seen by the eye doctor which honestly, I was left speechless. I have been to many doctors with my mom but have never come across one like this one. She was amazing and took her time explaining everything to my mom. She was patient and sincere when providing her medical advise. I have to say, due to the experience and amazing customer service we received by this staff we have now found my moms new eye doctor location.
