We came to Shake Shack because of the grass fed grass finished beef and beef tallow used for the fries. The tater tots were delicious. Crispy and cooked perfectly. They dont have gluten-free buns unfortunately so we requested lettuce wrapped but they dont do that either. Our burgers were served in a plastic tray and I cut it up and made a makeshift salad. It would be so easy for them to offer lettuce wrapped burgers. They had a promotion going on for World cup. Since USA won, we got a jar of grass fed grass finished tallow for only $0.25 cents. Don't waste your money here. Worst service I have ever experienced. The restaurant was filthy and disgusting. The staff was so rude. I asked to speak with a manager and was told that they had clocked out and one would not be available for 4 hours. No one would give their name. I will be calling every single customer service number I can find to express how I was treated and I warn everyone to stay away from this location. Stay away from the rude employee in the picture. Unfortunately this location has seen better days. This chain use to be a staple for us but has long since moved away from the normal rotation. This location is off of 436 not far from Full Sail. The parking lot is easily accessible to get into, but a bit more of a challenge to get back out if you want to head back towards Aloma side after you leave. The roof had several very noticeable water spots (one of the ceiling tiles was water logged and ballooning), which did not lend itself to a 'clean' feeling. The primary food orders appeared to be going through food delivery service orders like GrubHub or Uber Eats. There was only one seated table of patrons at lunch hour during the quick stop in I made. Staff was limited to one server and back kitchen staff of about three. They were checking on customers regularly and did seem to be moving orders quickly. It has the newest marketing campaign jazz showcased throughout - the beef tallow. You can order to go at the register, or opt to sit and eat. It's been awhile since I've visited a Steak - N - Shake and since I was in the area, decided to dine in. Interaction with the staff is minimal since you order on a kiosk. We were greeted when we arrived and asked if we needed help ordering. Ordered the bacon double cheeseburger meal and the fries were warm when served. Thankfully they replaced those with fresh ones. The burger had good flavor, but I forgot how thin the burger patty is. We were the only ones dining in, but drive-through was busy. Since the counter isn't manned, the installed a QR code reader to activate the fountain drink machine. The restaurant is clean and staff are friendly. read more

My first Steak 'n Shake experience and it was okay, more than 3 stars but not near enough to warrant 4. The staff were friendly, along with some of the other patrons that were chatting us up as we ordered food through the self-service screen. The restaurant felt a little dated, but it appeared relatively clean and staff were wiping down tables as we walked in. There was a sticky residue on the floors that made shoes cling a little after each step. The highlight of the visit for me was the onion rings, plus I liked that their condiments were plentiful and self-serve as well - no need to beg! My burger was okay, slightly dry and kinda bland. This Steak & Shake looks a little rundown, but it was clean, and the bathrooms were clean too. You place your order at a kiosk. Pretty easy ordering process. When the order is ready they call your name or an order number is called. We, my 3 grandkids and I were there for about an hour and a half, maybe 2 hours. We had so much fun, the music playing was great! We were all enjoying it. We played some games, we sang, we even did some dancing, and of course, took pictures. Had my ordered my food on the app and had it delivered, got a specialty shake with my chicken strips meal, which the shake itself is already expensive enough, but I never even received my shake, I can't file a complaint either because the number on the app doesn't work. $15 later, I never got my full meal. Normally I focus on taking photos of the food. This experience left me flustered and confused. I was one of 10 parents who showed up a little after 10:00pm last night. We brought our 15 teenagers, some of which could drive themselves, who had spent their entire Saturday performing two musicals. It has been the theater group's tradition to go to Steak n Shake to end their evening on a high note. My husband and I needed to eat to so we sat a bit away, although we could not get too far away as half of the restaurant was blocked off. The kids found a half booth half table against the wall they could fit and as others arrived they started nearing the blocked off area. This is where it started getting uncomfortable. The woman in charge the one behind the counter, blonde with a bun, literally screamed at the kids in a growing voice "THAT AREA IS CLOSED!" At the time, our group was the only people in the restaurant - bringing 25 paying customers. Customers that politely cleaned off their own tables as to not bother the staff. Our food came out and we had better pick it up now, right now! (By the way, when you order your food, they pre-ask for a tip when you pay on the kiosk.) We had taken our seat pretty close to the where the food was being picked up. There was a moment when two milkshakes were ready and this woman screamed at the kids like they were idiots, we're not listening and she hated them all. "PAY ATTENTION YOUR MILKSHAKES ARE HERE TO BE PICKED UP!!!!" She honestly just pulled them out and screamed at them the first time they were ready. I could not take it any more so I told her "BE NICE!!!" After that she seemed to have calmed down. Another patron not part of our group was shocked at her attitude too. It was so bad that I feel this woman (I wish I could have read her name tag, because I would have happily called her out by name) as well as management, need to give the parents and the kids a public apology. Getting accosted for supporting your business is not good business. On the brighter side, and the reason for any stars at all, the hamburgers were amazing. The fries were spot on. The food is good and the place is decent looking for being dead most of the time. There is an older lady there opening days and she is very sweet and took care of me. I really miss the old steak and shake and not the kiosks. It's sad to see it go down like this. Hoping it stays around because their garlic butter burger is delicious and the prices are amazing. Steak and Shake offers consistently good steak burgers and fries but this locations customer service is absolutely garbage. I brought my grandkids here after school around 330pm on a Wednesday afternoon. Told them to wash up before dining and my grandson lathered up his hands only to find there was no running water in the sink! Then my granddaughter came out of the ladies room and said there was no paper towels! I tried to find an employee but the entire store is a kiosk set-up now. I have always gone here and it has never been a problem but tonight was completely unacceptable! We came for a quick dinner and waited minimum 30 minutes for FAST FOOD!! Finally at window paid with some loose quarters and the rest on debit. Lady didn't know how to ring that in so sat another 5-10 min and waited for manager to help her. Finally received a completely melted shake that was no longer fully cold, sloshed around, with completely melted whipped cream also. Drove around, went inside. I grew up eating at this Steak n Shake location since the late 1970's and early 1980's when it was Very Good. Now, the food is Beyond terrible as is the service. It is absolutely filthy. There are gnats flying around because the trash hasn't been taken out and it is 4pm. The tables are not wiped down. Matthew thr manager is completely ignorant and does not help customers when he staff gets the order wrong. The table next to me complained about their Frisco melts so we commiserated together. I ordered a simple combo with fries. I had to beg for my fries which were cold. I never received the chili that I ordered. The milkshake tasted Terrible and did not add add-ins that I paid for. This place sucks so badly. I refuse to even use the free milkshake coupon that I received to do the survey because I won't be back and I will tell 10 people to go somewhere else. Hands down the best Steak n Shake that I've ever been to. I've only gone to the ones in Lee County (Fort Myers, Cape Coral) which have a reputation of being horribly dirty with the WORST service you could ever imagine. But this one was different. Alex and I came in on a super late night, around like 1AM. We were immediately seated and our server came to the table as soon as we sat down and stared taking care of us. The employees had fantastic attitudes and didn't make us feel like A-holes for coming in at 1AM. The place was also very clean and bright. My only complaint is I was FREEZING in there. To be honest because of how late it was, we can't really remember which burgers we got but I do remember being super satisfied. We did share one of their footlong dogs and it was delicious! All of the meals came with a great amount of fries. I was used to getting barely any so it came as a huge surprise to me. Don't forget to add the fry seasoning! We ended with a Nutella shake. I have always been a huge fan of their shakes; however, until they recently began their regular $4 meals, we rarely ate there because the prices were just too expensive for that particular class of restaurant. Now with the $4 meals and the regular coupons I receive in the mail for buy one get one free milkshakes, we visit much more frequently. This restaurant is clean and the servers are friendly. The managers are also friendly and concerned; each time we have visited, a manager has stopped by our table to make sure everything is tasty and just the way we ordered it. The only complaint I have about this particular restaurant is the temperature. Even in the dead heat of the summer in Central Florida, walking into this restaurant feels like I walking into a blizzard. It's so cold my teeth chatter and I shiver. With that being said, I'm not one to be cold very often; my AC at home stays on a nice cold 64 degrees during the summer and I'm perfectly comfortable. My scheduled Thanksgiving plans went out the window when I came down with a horrible cold, so in Thanksgiving night, I drove around town in my jammies searching for a restaurant with a drive thru window. Alas, there was Steak 'N Shake - major brownie points for being open on Thanksgiving, but that's all the brownie points they'll get from me. As I pulled up to the order menu and intercom, I was greeted by a faceless (at that point), unfriendly (bordering on rude) staff member. They barked at me to "hold" several times, but I hadn't even spoken yet. The wait for the food was approximately 15 minutes (which is expected since not many places were open at that point) and the staff member who collected my money and gave me my food seemed distracted (again, not too upset about this as I wouldn't want to be working on Thanksgiving). However, when she handed me my food, I specifically asked if my fries were in the bag since I didn't smell them (yeah, sounds weird - but we all know the smell of fries, am I right?). There was a long line of cars behind me, so I felt pressured to move along and not check for myself. Whelp, surprise, surprise - no fries were in the bag when I got home (and no, I didn't eat them in the car...this time). Also, I ordered a chicken taco salad and there was beef on it. It looked as though they started putting beef, but then remembered that I ordered chicken instead. I ate it anyway since I was hungry. Luckily, I also ordered a turkey club. Sad to see because I've been coming here for years the customer service has taken a hit every time you go through the drive through they want you to drive ahead of the window towards the stop sign to increase their throughput. You can no longer add additional items to your order at the window and the constant attitudes are constant between different people at the window. And to add one more thing. I feel like Steak N Shakes have a bad reputation of lack of management. Every time I go to one, it's slow, understaffed and the tables are never clean. The time we went it wasn't even packed, the tables were dirty and it took a good 10 - 15 minutes to have a someone come over, ask how much we are, clean the tables and sit us down. From my understanding maybe 3 servers were available during that time, but the other one was in the bathroom most of the time (guessing she didn't want to work or didn't want manage a big group). Drive thru. Ordered two 4$ deals, soda and a shake. On the meals I asked for double fries for one and chili for the other. I asked for a chocolate shake with Reeces pieces. Got home the food was crammed I the bag so tight that the one chilli container had split and leaked on everything (including he passenger seat) The fries were not Double. The shake was wrong they gave a vanilla shake with Reeces cups. Not a chocolate shake with Reeves pieces.. so the shake was IMPOSSIBLE TO DRINK due to the CHUNKS of Reeces cups stuck in the straw. And on top of it all they did not even give us the cookies that come with the order as advertised. So I called spoke to a manager, they took my info and offered to replace the entire order. The following week I ordered 20 min ahead,also telling them I had a "voucher" ,gave managers name ,stood in line only to find my order was not even made.. Got told I had to pay for the shake. Quite possibly the friendliest and most attentive staff you've ever met at a "faster food" place. Its not just the whole "southern hospitality" stereotype, they're genuinely happy and friendly staff that check in with every table and guest...not just their station but with all the tables and counter stools. I would give a 4 but today, Melissa and her team took the time to call us back after a negative experience. This wasn't a fake complaint the burger I got literally looked sad and the assistant manager that day forgot his customer service. I phoned in and within 24-48 hrs the store manager calls me personally and blessed me and my family with food today. We are a new family and our visit at first looked bad due to the lack of care of the grounds of the place but today when I returned I could tell there was something cleaner outside about it.
