And an additional bonus for this location is that they have an ordering touch screen for people who simply want to customize their food a little more easily without even having to speak to a human. While I was out shopping, I decided to stop at Five Guys for lunch. It's been quite a while since I've eaten here, and even longer since I've visited this particular location. One of the things I've always liked about Five Guys is that the food is cooked to order, so I was looking forward to seeing if it was just as good as I remembered. I ordered a Little Bacon Cheeseburger and a Little Fry. The fries were the highlight of the meal. They were hot, crispy, and cooked just right. I did notice they no longer give the overflowing bag of fries they used to be known for, but honestly, I didn't mind. The portion was still plenty for one person and meant less food going to waste. The burger, unfortunately, didn't live up to my previous experiences. The bacon had a slightly burnt taste. I like crispy bacon, but this seemed like it had been left on the grill a little too long. The bottom bun was also a little hard and didn't taste as fresh as I remember, which took away from the overall sandwich. Five Guys has always been one of the pricier burger chains, especially since everything is ordered à la carte. I've never minded paying a little more because the quality has always made it feel worthwhile. This visit, though, I didn't feel like the food justified the price. I grabbed lunch at the Fives Guys near the Altamonte Mall, and it was a good experience. I ordered a hot dog, and my husband a double bacon burger with cheese. If you are unfamiliar with Five Guys, there are no combos and you order everything individually. You can add as many topics as you'd like to your burger or hot dog. It depends on the day and who is working on if you'll have a grease soaked bun immediately when handed to you or not. When they get it right though, omg. So good. This location is one of the biggest offenders when it comes to excessive grease. So it is a true hit and miss. I will say I will only eat-in at this location. Even when I lived in walking distance. Don't order to go. Unless you're ok with a soggy wet greasy bun. Tastes like a dogs slobber face when it turns out that way. But the last 2 times have been good. So the bar is moving to the right direction. Anyway, it's good. The dining area is always dirty, and thus location is always busy...and I only see 4 of the 5 workers the last 2 times. Haven't been to a Five Guys in awhile but I am glad I went. It was really good. The burgers were cooked to perfection and I really like you can get all as many toppings you want at no additional cost. There are no other words to say about Five-Guys besides EXCEPTIONAL! Every single, solitary time we go to Five-Guys and bite into their juicy personalized burgers, we fall in love all over again. We have been fans of Five Guys burgers for a long time, this location is very good. The staff is friendly and our order has been spot on every time. So far we've just been getting takeout but the burgers and fries travel well. I will add two small caveats, but they don't effect me much. One, the burgers are often very lightly seasoned, that is they need quite a bit more salt, easy fix. Two, their soda machine pours a pretty nasty drink, I'm not sure if they don't keep their lines clean or it is just the horrifying chemical soup that is Altamonte Springs water? My cashier was Kyle A, he was super nice and friendly and you could tell he was hardworking and cared about his job, and not there to just socialize with his coworkers. My food came super quick. So happy with this Five Guys!! Hope it always stays this way. They should take down the decorations that's say the awards they won, which were won like 10 years ago. Now the bad. The bathroom was awful, diarrhea everywhere, it smelled awful, the sink was disgusting. My mom went in and almost threw up! It was Sunday night and maybe there was a larger crowd there earlier that cause this place to look messy. There were about 5 people working behind the counter/kitchen and the person taking orders was annunciating orders back to people in an obnoxious overly animated way to maybe be entertaining. I know he was just trying to have fun and that's okay...but he came over to clean tables by us (while we were eating) and he was still being very loud and sort of talking to himself about the stuff on the tables to attract attention. I have ordered my large fries extra crispy for as long as the place has been open. The boy behind the register tells me that we cook our fries one way and can't guarantee they will be crispy. If anyone knows how to cook fries, you leave them in the fryer longer and they get crispy....I pointed to the manger in the black shirt and told him she can make sure they are crispy. He went over and told her what I asked for and got the same response. I told him that he can cancel my order and I dont plan on coming back. This manager should be put back on the frier and learn what customer service is.
